Storz
Anyone have experience with the EAA Witness 1911? I would like to get back into USPSA this year and am planning to purchase a 1911 at some point for the Single Stack class. Budget limited to around or so 700 for a pistol. I know the Tanfoglio line of pistols are very well regarded and am interested if the same quality applies to their 1911?
CaptainOverkill
I don't know anything about the EAA guns, but in that range I'd buy a Springfield Range Officer or Loaded.
Storz
The other pistol in the price range that I am interested in is the Sig XO

Gooldylocks
Why no love for Rock Island? Under 600 bucks, has fully adjustable sights VZ grips... Buy a Dawson magwell for it (and maybe a different front sight) and it will still be cheaper than the others and set up better for the game. OPENB
Find the gun you will enjoy shooting. The gun expense is relatively small compared to ammo or reloading costs, travel, entry fees, holster, mag pouches, belt, etc...
jcc7x7
Both the SIG and SA range officer are good quality for the price. They are known entities. I would prefer a gun with an adjustable Bomar style sight but that's subject to your opinion not mine. good fortune in SS and welcome Neil

GregJ
Isnt the slide profile on the Sig 1911s wider than a normal 1911 slide? The one I have is. You might factor this in your decision.
SWprotected
Sig make a traditional line that is a normal profile, the Sig profile like the Max,Tac ops and the one pictured above are pretty square at the top.
