Sandbagger123
so when shooting in a sunny place do you use a clear or dark lens with the red dot. i tried the dark lens and i had to turn my dot to full brightness to see it .
Hi-Power Jack
I haven't used any shade lens - and I live in Florida. There have been a few times I probably needed something, though, so I'll keep track of the answers here ...
Sarge
I shoot with Rudy red lenses inside, outside, cloudy or sunny. But if you are running a cmore slide ride these help immensely: http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Arredondo-C-More-Dot-Module-Cover-P104.aspx
Aircooled6racer
Hello: I use the Rudy Project brown and multi colored lens along with the polarized ones. They all pickup the dot very well even the small 4MOA one I am using now. For me anything in the 10-15% range work well. Thanks, Eric

I love racing red lenses then. I generally run my click switches at 4-5 and it looks like a lightbulb on the target. I only run them higher if the angle to bright sun will wash them out some
BritinUSA
I just switched to glasses with a fire/red iridium lens. The red lens seems to increase contrast without blocking too much light. If you are wearing dark glasses then everything will be dimmer, not just the dot. Try some lenses that offer higher contrast and see if that makes a difference. I discovered this accidentally on a day where the browns were too dark but clear/yellow offered no filter on the haze.. the Rudy reds are brighter to my eyes compared to the brown/dark lenses, but offer a LOT of contrast for picking up the sights against the target. Glad to hear that they will work well for me in Open too.
2011BLDR
Increased contrast lenses help with the dot. I use the following Oakley’s: Bright sunny conditions: TR22 + Black Iridium ( Primary) ( vary limited availability: Radar Range, Ballistic Det Cord, M Frame 3.0 Hybrid) G20 Black Iridium ( Same contrast as primary just a bit more light transmission and not as sharp as the Prism lens) + Red Iridium ( direct sun low over the burm) Black Iridium ( direct sun low over the burm) Overcast conditions: Fire Iridium TR22
bigboy69
I use the Oakley TR45 lens for everything. Really makes the targets stand out against the background.
jrn1975
I also use the Oakley TR series of lenses and they seem to work pretty well... I will sometimes have the dot wash out if the sun is at the perfect angle behind me. I have the Guga Ribas Cmore Scope Protector coming today. I wanted to see if it helped prevent dot wash in certain conditions. https://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?id=GR-CMSPK&n=Guga-Ribas-C-more-System-Scope-Protector-Kit
