Grant
I know I've seen it somewhere. My catcher sticks and I saw somewhere about how to fix it to where it opens and closes smoothly. Thanks
TonytheTiger
Is it sticking because the cotter pin is bending? If so throw the pin away and stick a trim nail or something similar in there.
ASK712
The cotter pin is probably binding. It's suggested to use a straightened paperclip or finish nail, bent at the end, to replace it. Ant stiff piece of wire would probably work.
Youngeyes
Try this... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5335&hl=+550%20+primer%20+cup

RudyVey
Just did mine this morning: tossed the cotter pin and used a thin piece of ss wire, loaded some 200 rounds and all the spent primers went where they supposed to go!! Simple fix for a pita problem.
9x45
Dump the cotter key and put in a wire or small paper clip.
Chills1994
Use a magnet as a counterweight.

chuckpetree
Just had the same issue a couple weeks back. They are right, dump the cotter and use paperclip, etc... in there. Works like a charm.
9x45
Chills, where does the magnet go? got a pic? good idea!
Amerflyer48
I would think on the bottom facing the press below the pin pivot point to use 9x45 pic below the red arrow "line" and hiding behind the chute seems to me the rest either slides against the press to open the chute dropping said spent primer or doesn't move ( negating the counterweight effect) would probably have to be one of those thin magnets maybe looks like a dime. Slipperhead
I attached a magnet to mine and it worked nicely.... until the pin bound up again.... Then I cut one of the legs off the soft cotter pin, reinserted, bent the tip to lock it in and it has worked perfectly ever since!
Walnut
I started to use a 1" 1/16 roll pin that I had to trip a bit. That sucker never bends or deforms. I have it fit tight on the center housing and loose on the outside sheet metal housing which i had to drill out a bit so it would pivot freely. I put a drop of red lock tight on the pin where it goes though the inter-housing and it has been there for the last 5 years with no issues. Bought a small magnet at Home Depot to put on the primer chute for a bit of weight on the outer housing towards the top. My primer drop always works now.
