Bill Eskew
No thread for the Ironman yet?! OK, I'll kick it off: Yo Travis, what's the latest word? Are there any spots left in the match? When are the stages going to be posted? What's the round count? Is the zip line coming back? How long are the bonus rifle shots? Has the dummy lost any weight in the off-season? ;-)
joelogic
If you are taking input, I would be more than happy if the zipline was optional again. Also no mystery stage so it doesn't get dropped for the ST shooters. Edited March 11, 2015 by joelogic
Chuck Anderson
I think the matches are full. However, if you're on Travis' FB page there's still an opportunity to get in to shoot the match. Crimson Trace has an extra sponsored shooter slot we're auctioning off to support Urijah Smith and his family. Urijah's parents, Greg and Leilani are both very involved with three gun, Greg as a shooter and Leilani in her role at Warne Scope Mounts giving matches thousands of dollars in product each year. Two year old Urijah is going through Chemo right now and we're supporting his fight kicking cancer's ass. Whoever wins the slot I'll cover the $50.00 range fee that the sponsored slot still has. If you want in, this is your guaranteed way.
window2time
Will any of the 2015 3 Gun Nation rule changes carry over to Iron Man. For example I think the Limited class is now called Factory and has a 15 round mag limit regardless of caliber. I am thinking that these changes will not have any bearing on the Iron Man match but wanted to verify.
ziebart
I highly doubt 3GN will affect the Ironman rules.
Bill Eskew
Update from Travis: 1. Paymenta. If you haven't sent in your payment, I need it asap. If you have, thanks for taking care of this ahead of time.2. Registrationa. We'll tentatively be doing registration at the range from 4:00 -7:00 on Saturday afternoon the 6th for the OLHOT match and the same times onWednesday the 10th for the ST match.3. Stages and round counta. I'm getting stages finalized now and should have round counts outshortly. I may or may not have course descriptions out to you before thematch. I'll do my best. If you figure 300 rifle, pistol, and shotgun, and100 slugs, you should be in good shape. There will probably be 15-25 longrange bonus targets again this year with distances between 500y and 900y.These numbers are based on two rounds per target, one hit on steel, and 10rounds per spinner for pistol and rifle, and four hits per spinner withslugs. We aren't planning on having any buckshot specific targets thisyear.i. Spinner note...same as last year...if you knock it over with shot, you'll receive a 300 second penalty. Choose your shot accordingly.4. Schedulea. We'll shoot two stages before lunch and two stages after lunch thefirst two days. The second day will be two stages and then awards. We'replanning on having awards around 2:00 on the last day of both matches.b. You'll start on the stage that matches your squad number. If you're105, you'll start on stage 5. If you're 109, you'll start on stage 9...c. The Zipline will be a sidematch this year again and won't befactored in as part of your score. You don't have to shoot it if you don'twant to.d. Just like always, we'll have a quick shooters meeting the firstmorning of both matches at the flagpole at 6:30. Goal is to have roundsdownrange by 7:00 each morning. This means the walkthrough will begin at6:50 every day. Be ready to shoot. FYI ready to shoot means your mags arealready loaded... Trooper shooters will need to have all of their gear withthem at the shooters meeting. There won't' be time to go to the troopershed and get your gear after the shooters meeting and be on time to yourstage.5. Lodginga. As everyone seemed to be scattered from hell to breakfast over thelast couple of years, we didn't get any "match hotel" lined up. If there isenough interest for one of the hotels in Ontario, I'll see what I can workout.6. Mealsa. Working on them now. Most likely, it will be the same as in yearspast. There will be lunch at the range. I'll also find out about breakfastfor you early risers. More info to follow on that. This is all I can come up with for now. I'm sure there will be more updatesto come. Let me know if you've got any other questions.Adios,TGSponsorship coordinator jason@mgmtargets.com
joelogic
Round count: Four hits per spinner with slugs. I always wondered why I came back with so many slugs. I have been firing one and skipping it or using 1 full power slug to get it over.

JWS_61
There are at least two stages according to the published descriptions on the MGM website that have you starting with a slung rifle. Jeff
joelogic
Is it OK if you break the 180 with a slung rifle?
CraigS.
Yes it is, providing it is unloaded, slung rifles are never to be loaded as per the stage description. their is a link in post # 13. for the stage descriptions.

Stlhead
Thanks again to Travis and ALL the great MGM folks for this match. I thought the stages where the best we have seen in years. A great match that lived up to the Ironman tradition. Again this year I was blessed with so many great friends at this match, thanks for making it another memorable year. I hope the second half of the match turns out as good as the first. Safe travels, and good fortune to all involved.
JWS_61
YES, just as Stlhead stated, Thanks Again to Travis and all the others involved in putting together the MGM Ironman!!! I think the stages and the match in general where the best yet! Very smooth this year!!! Best wishes for the second half! Thanks to all of the generous sponsors who donated time, money and product to help make this match what it is. Jeff Scott
nheiny13
This was my first Ironman and I had a BLAST! There were some things I did really well and some things that I absolutely sucked on. I will say this... the part of the match that I thought was the most fun was the charity auction after the match. It was amazing seeing the generosity of people in this community and how we take care of each other.
