Flying to Thailand to shoot matches
eddiegunks replied to BuckeyeBoys's topic in Travel, Locations, Ranges, etc.
hey all, justto jump into this thread. i had lived in Thailand for over 8years. i have been in the USA for 8 years. i too am looking for info about shooting matches in thailand. i plan to be in chaing mai, but nothing is set in stone. does anyone know of any, or can point me in the direction of the IPSC matches ? i will be in country from May 20- june 30 2018 and again nov 15 - jan 15 2019. i have read the about info @RileyLV suggested. has anyone actually flown with their pistols to Thailand? any info on the thai side? usa side? ammo restrictions on the flight? what about layovers? how is that handled? i usually fly through mainland china......what should i expect from that? any tips on where to get that info? if you have flown internationally how do layovers work? i will not be touching my checked bags on a layover. would it be easier or safer top ship the gun? any experience with that? suggestions? i imagine that would be a far worse experience.....but i bet a Chinese jail would suck big time! thx eddie -
Hi all Our annual January 1 rifle match is back on this year. This will be the fifth year. While the first year was a bunch of us just standing around shooting informally we're counting in anyway. Depending on the weather it will be one or two stages. We will shoot them as many times as you would like. The Match is being held at Mabletown sportsmens club 105 scarawan rd marbletown ny 12484 We would like to begin to shoot about 10 AM, so if you'd like to come a little earlier to help set up that would be great please arrive and be ready to shoot with your mags loaded by 9:45. We will have a little safety meeting and it stage description at this time. Minimum round count per stage will be approximately 23 rounds. We will have one or two different stages that you could shoot as many times as the daylight allows. Fee for the match will be $15. Please sign off at practice score below. Match fee is $15 if you sign up online if you do not sign up online and you are a walk on there will be a five dollar administrative fee (so if you did not sign up online it will cost $15 +5 =Twenty dollars). Please sign up online it makes everyone's life a lot easier. MASS Jan 1 Rifle Match Thx eddie

i would not hold my breathe on the MPX in 40. they keep saying it is coming but no time frame. i bet it is years off. lets see what they say at shot show this year. as for 40 cal, not many people are making parts for 40. only QC10 that i can think of off the top pf my head. AC10 stuff is OOS a lot of the time. (all in stock now....better buy while you can)

light guns are fun to build. you can go pretty light without breaking the bank.....BUT at some point it will require stupid money to drop a few oz. for comparison: i built a regular M4 with a pencil barrel and plastic handguards with a FSB and troy flip ups sights. 6.33 lbs i have another with a 14.5 pencil voodoo innovations barrel, cheap 12 inch CF hand guard, light BCG, light buffer, DGW light lower, F1 light upper with a holosun dot that come is right at 5.05 lbs. another at 6.10 lbs. 16 inch pencil. 12 inch aero quantum HG, holosun dot, shockwave brace and tube. regualr CAR buffer. ergo grip. i bet i could get her under 6 if i changed the stock and/or the grip. (if i went lightweight BCG and buffer i could eaily cut off another 2-5 oz or better. if i went with a carbon fiber HG i could cut another 7-10 oz) built an M16A1 with triangle HG at 6.9 (with round HG and the light luth ar stock it was 6.7 but not as cool looking) i have found that the regular m4 stocks are awfully light....and cheap. eddie

Who do you guys shoot with? Non of my matches see any sweeping from pcc guys. That said, kost of my shooters run 3 gun as well so they are used to long guns. FWIW i have allowed pcc in my "outlaw" 3 gun matches for years. We are in NY so this helps to get people who do not have. A Pistol permit to come out and play.

What distance do you zero at?
eddiegunks replied to Bluemooncricket's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
I use my mpx. My 115 are traveling at 1400+ fps. (I use load data right off of the titegroup can) zero at 25. (It is a 25,100 zero) obviously it will be low at 10 but i am used to that with the ar. Holding top of a 10 yd plate always works for me. -

check your scope mount. make sure it is tight on the rail as well as on the scope itself. -
can someone point me to the sig extension options? pm me if that is better. thx. once i touched a sig MPX blow back AR9mm are a thing of the past for me. i have sold all mine. i have used BCP, NFA, QC10, lone wolf and a couple other SMG versions.....there are no "issues" with the mpx, like th ar9 have.....no broken bolt release, no special buffers needed. no heavy buffer/bolt banging around increasing felt recoil etc etc. my mpx does not like my 147 grain sub rounds (non suppressed) outta the 16 inch carbine. some AE 147 run, other aftermarket 147 do not run. i have been running 115 now. nice and flat. 1400-1475fps with 4.8 of titegroup. i bought 5-6K 124 so i will load them up next.
