Skywalker
Jason, on my SVI Competition (Standard division) I broke: - Firing pin spring, @ about 32'000 rounds (first two coils facing breechface split from spring). - Firing pin stop, @ about 40'000 rounds. The latter was not really broken, rather cracked/dented on the bottom left corner, where there is the ejector slot . All original SVI parts. cpty1
I broke a firing pin stop on a Para open gun after about 25,000 rounds. That was a long time ago I might add.
Bill Schwab
FP stop of unknown manufacture broken after about 12k rounds and dry fired a zillion times. Actually a chunk came out of the FP stop but it was still functional.
Nate
Broke a firing pin stop on a SV, same crack in corner as described above. Shot it that way for a long time with no trouble. Also broke a firing pin on a single stack, though I have to think it was a metal issue. That was a strange failure as my gun ran ok until I droped the hammer on an empty chamber and then had a lot of firing pin in the chamber.
MikeFoley
I have broken a couple of STI firing pin stops, but it was due to improper fitting near the ejector.
Tman33_99
One FP Stop on a Para P16-LTD. Stop broke across the bottom of the FP hole, but still functioned. This happened after a guestimated 15K rounds
davidwiz
For the firing pin stop, if you get a new one, make sure that the corners on it are radiused and not squared off. This prevents them from cracking.
Jon Merricks
I have broke a bunch of EGW firing pin stops. I'm not sure if any of them made it past 20k. All crack in the bottem left side.

Bill Schwab
I have broke a bunch of EGW firing pin stops. I'm not sure if any of them made it past 20k. All crack in the bottem left side. Jon, That is not what I wanted to hear: all my guns now wear EGW FP stops...
Jasonub
seems like the firing pin stop is an item that one needs as a spare. i myself broke a lot og firing pin springd and 1 firing pin stop but the stop was not svi it was wilson i think. looks like i have a long time to go before my stop to crack. ill just get a spare sv to make sure. i dont think ill buy an extra firing pin with the data above keep it coming and thanks guys
mcoliver
I broke a SAM FP stop with only dry firing on the third day it was installed. The EGW seems to be holding up well.
