  1. Yes they use the 70 degree lock piece. They use coated heads as sometimes 115 gr fmj weights in the chrono to be less than 115. And in ipsc rules, its unsafe for rifles and they zero you I guess. The coated ones never hit 114. its usually a little more than 115 and tops at 117 gr
  2. In our country top guys using jp use 115 grain coated bullets. they say it's softer and back to target quickly. N320 powder and 135-140pf
  3. Wow thats comprehensive. Thank you for your insights. Im still waiting for my rifle to arrive and I want to be ready.
  4. Thank you for the update. What do you mean 70 deg is better at high PF? We're in IPSC country and we only need 125 pf to hit. Safely we target 130 pf. Im not planning to go higher than 135 PF. So with 130 PF is it better to use the 70 or stock 80 degree lock as this will be the PF I'll be targeting? 130-135 maybe with 115 or 124 grain coated bullets and N32O or CFE. Thank you for your helpful insights
  5. Any news on your experiment yet?
  6. Pictures please that is light and I like to see if I can do the same .
  7. In this side of the globe, the Philippines, we use heavy standard pistols with light slides and light springs. For bullets its generally heavy heads that make major. So for 40 its minimum 180 gr and usually its 200 gr.
  8. Yes that's what I'm going for. Thanks. Anyone have a Brazos slide for limited? Yes thanks that's what Im going for. Anyone have a Brazos limited slide?
  9. Yes that's what I'm going for. Anyone have a Brazos limited slide?
  10. I tried searching but we all know that we should lighten our slide as much as we can to lessen felt recoil. There seems to be no general rule on what our slides should weigh. What's the lightest slide out there on limited or standard division without compromising durability? I have an infinity factory lightened slide and its 349 grams with front and rear sights . What do you guys have?
  11. I use limcat xl on an ibf with 100 percent success. 17 ms ismi and ismi fp spring cut to prevent binding
  12. I use a buff too with 10 pounds recoil spring on an sv shooting 40 major for years. Im now trying an aluminium buff from dawson. That should make the 2 stage recoil go away. Though i dont feel the 2 stage recoil on a wilson buff. Too busy observing my sights
  13. Yup warranty claims here suck even if you have a distributor. We had some broken glock breech faces and was eventually replaced in about a year. Im just ranting thinking that these exotic guns are indestructible.
  14. had it tig welded. and built up. the material there is ultra thin and lots of volume shooters here with sv also break their grips and have the screws welded on those grips (personally know 3 of my club mates who broke theirs and had it welded) When i cracked an sti and a para slide a few years ago. They sent me a new one without questions. I still love my pistol but makes you think twice. Im having a new one made but this time ill be getting an sti frame and slide or the new CK when it arrives in our country. Id still use the sv hammer group trigger and rear sight, tungsten rod, but the others ill go with egw to date have not broke any of their parts Here is what i broke with the volume i shoot. 1 sv ambi(replaced it with a bar stock egw), 2 sv rear sights(loosened the suckers), 1 sv grip, 1 sv hammer (old one square) cracked an sv frame at about 150t (welded it and it never had any issues in the area anymore) keep on loosening a breech face (even with loctite. I now make it a regular thing to check after 1000 rounds or about 1-2 weeks worth of shooting), 2 sv sear springs(keep on loosing that damn bearing same with the trigger) when i lost the third i let it be. everything breaks more so if you use it a lot but I did not believe my peers that the grip will break and not at this round count. But so far there are no options unless i have one custom made(lots of smiths here make one but look is so so but durability is way up there, They use a one piece bar stock grip and cut it incorporating the trigger guard. No 2 pc grip here) . The sti grips made of aluminium have terrible history of breakages thus ill pass. rant off
  15. Got worse at round 4000 plus Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You could relax with some weed between stages. Lol. If you want you can try a suppliment called xtend. It contains bcaa and will make it hard for you to get tired.
  17. Yup the elevation screw does need to pass through the slide no thread in the bomars
  18. Iirc its a redundant feature. You can click adjust your bomars without the slide thread. Try it uninstalled it screws in fine. Ill check on my extra bomar later and revert
  19. Imo the reason it broke is due to the mag hitting it repeatedly. Just shave the area till it clears the mag contact. Mine is an egw that had been shorted till it barely reaches the back of the mag. Remove the upper and insert the mag if it hits remove material slowly till it doesnt. In some of my mags,;mag movement is hampered by the contact of the basepad and the Magwell. Seems to minimize over insertion too.
  20. Why not just drill a smooth hole on your slide for the elevation screw to go in unhampered? Or grind down the elevation screw so it won't hit your slide? The 2 set screws should hold the bomars in place and if your slide is cut right, the sv bomars should fit tightly through the bomar cut slide that the 2 set screws are not needed but there as additional locks
  21. You could try the taran followers. Ask them if it will fit. The design seems similar
