elbow pad recommendations

Can anybody recommend a good pair of athletic elbow pads? One too many prone swan dives for this guy.

Most folks I've seen use the hard plastic type ones that Home Depot sells, the kind used by guys who do carpets and roofs.

Avoid the hard strap on types and use the soft padded versions that stretch over yer elbows. They bend easier and you don't even know they are there. All yer trying to do is avoid road rash anyway.

I mush prefer the neoprene types.. the hard type, were uncomfortable to the point I wouldn't wear them (on knees either), and very hard to move around in, easily slip around

For what it is worth, I have been wearing the hard plastic types and have never had a problem with them, knees or elbows.

Got to try some. I use the Volleyball/LaCrosse thin ones at some matches and hard plastic ones at others.

Come on, no black? I used to not worry about and just let the adrenaline do it's job. I must be getting older and wiser, I prefer comfort over adrenaline.

I use the blackhawk neoprene ones too but had to modify them smaller for my arms.

I got the Safariland ones and love them. You have to download the catalog online and look up the item number to enter into their horrible website so you can find them but they are well padded, light and pretty inexpensive. They are neoprene and fit everyone that has tried mine pretty well.

I went to Academy Sports and bought some skate boarder elbow pads. Longer, softer, seem to last. I have had them for 3 years.

In my foolhardy fifties I tried my hand at roller blading and used the hard elbows for this. Being on cement or asphalt, they saved my bacon several times BUT I shoulda used a helmet.

I use these: Hatch Neoprene Elbow Pads . Eventually the elastic will get sloppy, but they work great and the price is right.
