diehli
Yeah, baby!!! If I can ever afford one (meaning make the payment AND pay for insurance), it's mine. It only took 'em 40 years to make it look right again.
Skywalker
So you're no longer a biker?

GTOSHootr
I just saw one too. I'm not a Ford guy... but they got it right with the retro look.
TriggerT
I have never been a Mustang fan, but the 05's might change my mind. Looks like the guys in Ford's R&D department have come up with a real winner.
kimel
Ah...but did they put a decent suspension under it or not? But it does look very cool...and I am not a Ford guy at all.
tightloop
From the front, it kind of looks like the 68 Stang that McQueen drove in Bullitt...kick ass chase scene..
SteveZ
From the front, it kind of looks like the 68 Stang that McQueen drove in Bullitt...kick ass chase scene.. My girlfriend has one on order (GT in Torch Red)....delivery should be about Christmas. If you haven't seen the '05 Mustang commercial on TV with McQueen...check this out! http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/ads/05/cornfield.wmv and this.... http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/ads/05/anthem.wmv
SRT Driver
I agree with TL. Saw a Ford commercial that has McQueen driving one is his Bullit character..good marketing idea. To me, the front end looks like a '67 Shelby GT350 and the rear looks like a '70 Fastback.
Vince Pinto
Sexy looking Mustang and cool ads. Hope they release an extra souped-up Shelby version.
GTOSHootr
To me, the front end looks like a '67 Shelby GT350 and the rear looks like a '70 Fastback. We have a 67 and a 69 Shelby GT500s in our shop right now, and I was thinking the same thing. They took the best from different years. The new Vette is awsome but the styling doesn't have that impact.
JFlowers
Lord, I have lust in my heart! Ford's 2005 Mustang GT-R Concept. Basically a 2005 Mustang with the works including Ford's aftermarket crate engine!

I saw the torch red one on the cover of Car and Driver. Oooohhh! What a sexy car! I was busy making the appropriate slurpy and grunty noises for a muscle car of mmmm... One of my students said, "Sgt Wakal, you could get it with the V-6." Blasphemy! "Mustang GT's do NOT get a V-6. V-8 minimum. Mmmmm V-10?" Flexmoney
I just watched a program on the History Channel where (I think) they had two teams of of knuckle busters go head-to-head on a couple of 68's...apile of parts and a time limit...then off the to drag strip. Winners get to keep coth cars. (Though the NOS caused one to burn up.)

SRT Driver
The '05 only puts out 300 net hp...I'm disappointed! Some of the late '60's muscle cars would be lucky to put out that much since they measured hp at the flywheel. Damn parasitic drag!!! Very few early muscle cars could come close on the skidpad either.
