Versamax one piece magazine tube

I was planning on putting a sling stud on my forend. But after looking at it, I am not sure now. First i was going to use one with a nut on the bolt end of he stud. And this would need to be countersunk on the inside of the for end.

The problem is the end of the forend is enclosed around the mag tube for about 3" or so. So to countersink the nut you would have to drill through the top of the enclosed part. Not that big of a deal, but not sure if I want to do that.

Next....where I like to hold the forend is right about where I would want the sling stud.

So.....???

Looking to hear from other folks and their ideas.

Take care,Stan

I'm thinking about putting a Noveske Flush QD sling mount on the forend. I taped the nut to the inside of the forend where I want it and it seems to clear everything fine when the forend is in place. If I decide to do it I will post my results.

The Noveske QD flush mount looks promising. Unfortunately Noveske and Midway out of stock ($19.99). Optics Planet supposedly in stock ($27.99???that's a bit of a mark up..........)

Just ordered one. I almost feel like one of the cool kids.

You mean you just ordered the LAST one...at least of the first production run. :) Hope to have more ready next month.

The VersaTube makes your shotgun cool, so the feeling is warranted.

One of the lucky ones to get the Carbon Arms extended tubes for my Versa Max. Actually, it arrived at my house before my shotgun. I got the tube last week and the gun today. Tomorrow is the swap over. Looking forward to trying it out.

I've never been much of a fan of mag extensions, much preferring long one-piece mag tubes. I'm surprised such a product hasn't been made for the 870. Good move, Mark... most impressive! Any possibility that you would make one for the 870?

The possibility of a Ti tube are very slim. Next run will likely be 8+1 and 8+2.

Mark,

Hope to get my order in on the next run of tubes. I like the idea of the 8+ tube as there are still a couple matches out here with a hard limit of 8 for the Tac divisions. I'll just throw the original Nordic +4 extension back on for those that have brought their preload standards up to the new reality.

BigBamBoo... is this the 8+1 you are showing on your VM with 22" barrel?

That would mean a maximum of 9 in the tube w/extension, and 1 in the chamber, for 10 rounds MAX, right?

I assume one could also just put a cap on the tube, for 8 rounds in the tube, and keep the end of the tube just shy of the muzzle?

How's about some Zombie / Carbon Arms porn!?!?

Just got my Versamax Tactical back from CRums. Had Jeff install the tube when he did his magic Shotgun looks great. Tube is awesome! Wish I could post pics of it. Maybe later ....

I wish you could too! Any possibility? We would love to see the final result!

I got my Versa all set up, pimp style and I'll be shooting HM at all the big matches this year... which means I'll be running my pump at most of the small matches too. It's so cool though that I still bring the Versa in my gun bag to matches just so it doesn't get lonely. I'm shooting HM at the Noveske match this weekend and the Versa is in the car with all my other gear right now.

Thank you, Mike, for the fantastic customization work you did on my VersaMax. I installed the Carbon Arms VersaTube on it yesterday and I'm super impressed with the overall quality of the gun. Can't wait to get her to the range.
