johnb replied to Kurusty's topic in Revolver Match Announcements and Discussions
Can you shoot just the Revo match or do you need to shoot single stack as well? -
Thanks for the ideas!

Rocky Mountain Regional June 21-22
johnb replied to johnb's topic in Revolver Match Announcements and Discussions
Thanks for coming out to the match and for all of your help with tear down. -
We have a great match planned! 8 Stages and round count is 210. Shoot the match on Saturday. We've changed the format a bit and this will be a cash payback match with a random drawing of a limited number of prizes Saturday afternoon. Sunday will be a man on man shoot-off for cash as well. Hope to see you out there! John Burkholder

NRA D-1 'White' Tombstone targets
johnb replied to johnb's topic in ICORE Rules and Membership Information
The only issue with using paper would be covering the perforation around the edge. That could make it hard to determine if the full bullet diameter was inside the perf for shots close to the edge. Cutting the paper to fit inside the perforation would be a PITA. -
NRA D-1 'White' Tombstone targets

We've done that in the past as well. But I thought for sure I've seen no shoot tombstone targets and am hoping somebody here would know of a source. -
Does anyone know where I can get some? I need them for the Rocky Mountain Regional at the end of the month. I've looked at a couple of the normal suppliers but they don't show the 'no-shoot' version Thanks John

I'll be picking mine up tomorrow so I'll get some picks up as well.

I picked up a couple sets of the small Surefire plugs and also found some small safety glasses with flat ear pieces. Combing those with the muffs seems to work good. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm not sure if there is a mag extension but Lancer does make 48 rounders. Right now on GB there are several for sale.

Happy Birthday, Mike!

For those of you that are using the +2 cap, are you using the stock spring or did you switch it out for a longer one?
-
Thanks, I'll see if I can find some from one of the local dealers.

Thanks for the suggestion. Checked both but no luck. I'll keep searching

I have a 3 and 4 year old that I've taken to the range only once. Both enjoyed it and I'd like to get them out much more often this summer but I'm struggling to find a good solution for eye an ear protection. Muffs seem to work the best but when we add glasses, even the smaller(kids size) versions, I don't think the muffs actually seal very well. I've tried trimming down the foam plugs and that seems to work OK for a little while but then they start to fall out. Several years ago I saw a liitle guy on the range with a set of muffs that had the glasses attached to the outside of the muffs rather than underneath. Does anyone have a set of these? If so, who made them and do you remember where you found them? I've searched several different times on the web but never found the combination glasses/muffs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, John

After you decide which one you're going to go with, would you send me a PM and let me know where your local gun shop is? I haven't been able to locate a Versamax in my area. Thanks

Nordic Components also makes a mag extension to bump a 30 rounder to 48 rounds. Check their website.

I haven't sent in a 617 yet but I have 5 centerfire revo's (625's & 627's) that Apex has done and all are 4.5-5lbs and reliable. You won't be disappointed.

I tried Randy's Open gun about two years ago when he was running it in competition sub 3 lbs. He said it took some getting used to to shoot fast because you need to get off the trigger quickly. The rebound spring doesn't have much 'rebound' in it. He wanted to see how light he could go and keep it reliable w/Fed 100's. I don't know how much lighter he got it. Mine and my wife's 627's that he did are 100% reliable and are at 4.5lbs.

Very Nice!! Good luck, Doug.

If you could get them to me in the next week or so, that would be great. If you need more time to convince some others to come along, we'll take entries the morning of the match. Glad to hear you're going to make it.
