GlockWise
Hi guys... I have lots to tell you about myself but it would be boring if I couldn't post pictures. Well the owner of the forum obviously thought he could get more hits by encouraging people to post more when he made a rule that you can't post links/pics when you're new on the forum... however the problem is... I don't think I can communicate my questions/comments clearly without posting pictures. I just spent an hour making a new e-mail and website JUST so that I could post pictures here but I can't. Does anybody have any suggestions? Or do I have to actually shrink my photo's down to little thumbnails so I can upload them here? I think this is a bit bizarre... But I've heard that this is the place to learn about Glock Racing. Any suggestions are appreciated. BTW: My name is Arya. I am 27 years old and live in Ca/Az. Much Love, Arya
sdm74
Its also hard to communicate a question, without asking a question.
Flexmoney
We don't want spammers and folks coming here to sell stuff signing up and loading up pics. It is that simple. We could care less about "hits". You might hit the search page and use it to look for your question in the Glock section. There have been a lot of questions asked over the years, with lots of helpful answers!! - Admin
n5wd
... I don't think I can communicate my questions/comments clearly without posting pictures. I know what you mean, Ayra... I eat a lot of Italian food, and I can't communicate without waving my hands around! Edited January 15, 2012 by n5wd
GlockWise
Its also hard to communicate a question, without asking a question. I re-read my question and I didn't make any serious errors that you couldn't see past. Let me break it down for you. 1st, I joined this forum to give/get info. about reloading ammo and racing. Then I realized it would only be appropriate to have a page where I can refer people to where I introduce myself and my guns. Obviously this thread won't serve as such now that you people have taken up the entire first page giving the most useless information. The person that referred me here told me there would be a lot of helpful people here. Then I spent about an hour making a new e-mail address, a new website, waiting for a confirmation email bla bla bla so that I could upload some pictures to show you guys of my gun. Along with a "bio" of the gun. Then I typed up a very detailed description of the gun and used the "insert image" feature to add an image. I hit submit and of course it doesn't work because they want to prevent "spam". But what I am saying is that when I want to start asking questions or posting comments down the line, I will need to be able to show you guys pictures to help you understand. Let me give you an example: "Why does the finish on my chamber look like this?" [image] "Is it related to low quality finish that can't handle the heat? Or is it friction from the slide running against it?" -- The best I can say to describe the appearance is "faded" but that doesn't tell you if it was faded by heat or friction without looking at it. Get it now? (NOTE above: I didn't insult you... You didn't even ask me for help or a question. But I took the time to help you understand something that you couldn't) Sorry -- FlexMoney can you please delete my thread or just delete everyone's message so I can make a Bio page for myself please? BTW: I used to be what's called a "moderator" for a forum when I was in HS. I spent about 4-5 hours a day chatting with members and deleting spam and double posts and trash talk. Nobody paid me or the other 20 moderators on the forum. We did it because we enjoyed using the forum and wanted to keep it a chill place to post. The admin had made a thread one day "Accepting Volunteer Mods" and at least 40 people volunteered. It was a very successful forum. Maybe you should consider this for this forum as well... Lastly if I was a spammer I would make 100 random posts in 10 minutes. For example look at the replies I got on this forum. Not a single one addressed the question asked or gave any usefull information. These people are just wasting forum space and lowering the class of the forum. I HAVE found a very helpful person after my 1st post on the forum so I don't want to make any snap decisions about the majority of the people here just from my 2nd encounter. Sarge
This forum is not for everybody. For your information the moderators are very good on this forum. As a matter of fact they are so good I better not tell you what I think of your initial postings.
rvb
I bet had you simply said "I'm new, my question is ..., would someone mind posting a link for me that better describes my question?" that this would have all been avoided.... or you could have posted your link with some spaces, eg "www. google. com." I bet someone would have replied with it cleaned up for you. welcome -rvb Edited January 15, 2012 by rvb
whistlepig
.............For example look at the replies I got on this forum. Not a single one addressed the question asked or gave any usefull information. These people are just wasting forum space and lowering the class of the forum. I HAVE found a very helpful person after my 1st post on the forum so I don't want to make any snap decisions about the majority of the people here just from my 2nd encounter. I debated posting a reply to this thread several times and held off, knowing that a pithy comment won't help and also knowing that my instinctive replies would cause undue heartburn to a Mod...... I take exception to several things, but in an attempt to keep it on a civil level I want to point out that this quoted statement is incorrect. Flex answered your original post/question with the exact answer with the second response to the original post and it was given on the same morning you posted it. Your statement is incorrect. Just because you didn't get the answer you desired does not mean that your question wasn't answered. I also point out that I am familiar with the posts of the other folks in this thread who have responded and have not found them to "waste space" or "lower the class of the forum". I am with Sarge on this one. Maybe this isn't for you. Per the spirit of the Forum and out of respect for those who administer and moderate it I say "welcome". From the line animals like myself I point out that respect is received when it is given.

open17
Does anybody have any suggestions? Or do I have to actually shrink my photo's down to little thumbnails so I can upload them here? Well--I see two questions in the OP's first post. 1. "Does anybody have any suggestions? Answer: Play by the rules or go somewhere else. 2. Yada Yada shrink photo's thumbnail Yada? Answer: See 1 above.
Flexmoney
Relax folks. Please don't dog pile on a new members intro. He will get the feel for this place or he won't. Take the high road. if there are any issues, please p m a moderator... as opposed to airing the laundry on the form. Thanks, Admin.

G-ManBart
Get a Photobucket account, then just add a link, pic will show here, problem solved. Disregard...didn't realize the restrictions included links as well. GlockWise, if you have a pic you would like visible for technical discussion matters, start the thread, e-mail me the thread link and the pic. I'll put it on my Photobucket page and link it to your thread. Edited January 17, 2012 by G-ManBart
BritinUSA
Get a Photobucket account, then just add a link, pic will show here, problem solved. There's a piece of code on the forum that prevents new members from uploading photos, or adding links until they hit a certain number of posts. Its unfortunate that this kind of restriction is necessary, I have seen forums that have been plagued with porno and phishing links.
