  1. Funny you should mention that- my son and I were shooting at the range last night, and in the next lane was a gent in a motorized wheel chair. He was catching his brass (seems that he reloads) in what looked like the thin nylon dirty clothes bags they sell for travelling - had it rigged with a little bit of flexible aluminium (a bit thicker than a coat hanger) so that about 90% of his brass was caught there.. and trickeled down into a plastic bucket laid on the ground. If you can imagine a butterfly net - that's kinda what it looked like - big orifice so that it caught from all kinds of arcs. Pretty neat.
  2. I know what you mean, Ayra... I eat a lot of Italian food, and I can't communicate without waving my hands around!
  3. Glad to know that I'm in good company, having to pay pennance to the War Department. Back on Veteran's Day, Cabelas was running a great discount for active and veteran military - employee discount. Had the opportunity to pick up a Veridian C5L for my Walther PPS, at a pretty good discount. Told the wife that'd be my Christmas present. So, a week or two later, while we're out running around, she says "Let's go to the Apple Store for just a minute - I want to look at something". Hmmm.. well, she's been real nice to me for 40 years, so I didn't mind buying the Ipad2 for HER Christmas present. But, you know computers.. you gotta buy the accessories, too... she needed a Belkin bluetooth keyboard, and a couple of other little things... So, when the gun show rolls around on New Years Eve (what a way to start the new year!) she's like "Well, you oughta look and see what they want for that gun you want"... all sweetness. So, the XDm 5.25 was a bit less than what the lowest I had found online, or at previous gun shows... That's my Valentine's gift, it seems.... Now, I'm just waiting to see what she wants for Valentines!
  4. Hi, folks. I'm new to the forum and I'm from Fort Worth, Texas... on the western side of the MetroMess. Wanting to start competing... think I'm going to give Steel Challenge a try. The club down in Waco runs month matches, as does the Dallas Pistol Club over in Carrollton., so I may be showing up at either of those locations. My EDC is a Walther PPS, but the range/target gun is a 9mm Springfield 5.25" competition model. A belated Christmas present to myself, it sure is a nice gun and I'm having fun with it at the indoor range where I shoot (Shoot Smart in far north Fort Worth, if anyone's local). My "handle" is my ham radio callsign - other folks call me Wayne.
