Mentality, consistency, and speed are the things separating you, me, "us", from B, A, and beyond. Practice, drive, and effort WILL make you improve and move to B, complacency will keep you here forever.

Being a C shooter is not a definition of WHAT you are, but merely WHERE you are today. Each classification is a stepping stone that gets progressively further and further away, it's up to us to decide if we are comfortable where we are or decide we're going to do what it takes to jump to the next one. B Class seems to be where most people decide they are comfortable, they get off the train and forget all about improving.

A lot of people say things like, I JUST want to make B,A,M, etc. if you were to ask almost any GM, Pro player, or someone at the elite/upper level of anything, this mentality is totally foreign to them. They set goals, when they get NEAR achieving them they've already mentally moved on to the next goal without even pausing to think about the achievement.

In this sport, climbing a mountain doesn't get you to the top of anything, all it does is give you a better view of all the higher mountains left to climb.

Nicely put, I am going to use that.

Thanks zack. Guess I'll be racing to A class next. Something tells me it's gonna be a long race !

Good Luck! Making A class will put you near the top of the heap in Production. Production breaks down as follows (based on Sep 2014 Classification Updates)

GM - 1.3%

M - 4.2%

A - 8.4%

B - 22.4%

C - 42.9%

D - 20.7%

Thanks Zack for taking over. How where you able to calculate this break down? Was curious what the other divisions look like. Thanks

sarge450: Each month USPSA releases a classification update file. In that file each classified USPSA member is listed. I import the data from that file into a database. Once it's in the database I can slice and dice as desired.

Thanks, it is very interesting to see the breakdown compared to the division breakdown. Ie the proximity to the next level is potentially closer than the size of the window itself. The GM's for example are the top 5% but make up only 1.6% of actual shooters in limited. Gives some perspective on how good the elite really are

Thanks Zack!

Can you add me please? A-79509 Production

Happy to help keep JD's work alive.

I have you listed for Limited as well. Do you want to keep both or just switch to Production from Limited?

I am currently a B class in Limited and C class in Production. Im hanging up the limited rig til feb or so next year and shooting production until then.
