Jesse Tischauser
Is the AMU really switching to LTD? They should! It's a much bigger challenge to beat the Open guys with irons.

Chivas
Who is the contact to change my Division from Tactical to Open? Mine was wrong also. I was listed as LTD. I am going back to the SHARK POOL-Tactical. I called USPSA today and they told me to email Kim with the changes. kim@uspsa.org Is the AMU really switching to LTD? I saw that. VERY VERY Interesting. Maybe they want out of the SHARK POOL!!!

Religious Shooter
Anybody know about the match hotel? The Riviera? The packet from USPSA says there is a special USPSA rate at Riviera's website and gives a code. But I don't see anyplace on the website where I can enter the code. Is the USPSA group rate really better than the $41+$81+$81 that it is now? There's apparently a couple of different towers. The only thing I really care about the room is that it is non-smoking, it's relatively close to the parking lot, the path from the parking lot to the room is "discrete" and short, and that the parking lot is well lit, safe and ample. Which tower would be best for this?
Jesse Tischauser
I gotta couple if questions for you Nationals veterans. How far is the range from The Strip? How far is the range from the Match Hotel? Is there an awards banquet at the range or at the match hotel? What time would u expect the awards and prize table to be finished? On a scale of 1- 5 where would you rate the match hotel? Thanks! Edited September 12, 2011 by Jesse Tischauser
ninemmbill
The range is about a 20 minute drive from the strip and the match hotel. The Riviera is one of the older hotels on the strip, it has been remodeled but it still isn't as nice as some of the newer ones. On your 1-5 scale, I would give it a 2 - 2.
Trail3
Decided to stay at the Silverton Hotel and Casino. It has a Bass Pro Shop attached! Nice if you need something. Easy to get to the range. South side of town. About a 20 min drive to the range. Not near the Strip. Rates for Wednesday night to Moday check out was $415.00, taxes included. Have stayed there for the 2005 & 2009 Multi Gun Nationals. Clean and nice. Awards are usually at the range after shooting 2 stages.

The Riviera Hotel is on The Strip On a scale of 1- 5 where would you rate the match hotel? 0 (Zero) It is one of the oldest, smokiest, and generally crappiest hotels on The Strip. That said, it has clean rooms, cold beer, a good reputation for service, and is the official match hotel. Staying there and using the match code, helps out the USPSA, and the compettitors, by keeping the cost of the match lower.
CraigS.
I believe the awards were done about 6:00pm last year. Check out the nationals web site for a review of the remodeled riviera by Kim W. http://www.uspsa-nationals.org/000370.html sounds like it might be a decent place . Trail3
Keno34, check with Chivas T.H., he just bought a huge pick up to tow his new trailer to the match. He should be able to haul your ammo to Vegas.
Chuck Anderson
I believe the awards were done about 6:00pm last year. Check out the nationals web site for a review of the remodeled riviera by Kim W. http://www.uspsa-nationals.org/000370.html sounds like it might be a decent place . After talking with friends that stayed there for the handgun nats. they were disapointed in the Riviera. I had a decent room at the Riviera. There were some others that didn't. It's an older hotel in Vegas. It's very much improved from when I stayed there in 2009. The food at the Pub and Steakhouse was very good, buffet for breakfast good, but expensive. My bed was comfortable, fridge in the room, TV worked, AC worked and I always had hot water. Pretty much everything I need in a match hotel, particularly for the price. That said, I'm staying at TI for the MG Nats. For the few days I'll be there I'm willing to pay a bit more. The biggest concern I had with the Riviera came the final day of the match. There were at least three cars broken into during the awards ceremony. I know at least one shooter who lost all his luggage and two custom limited guns. Not sure if the other two cars were shooters or not. If you do stay at the Match Hotel, I would definitely not leave anything of value in the car, ever. Also, USPSA gives out little placards to hang off your mirror when you get to the range to get through the gate. Don't leave them visible in the parking garage. Makes it very easy to pick out shooters vehicles when they have a brightly colored card identifying them. The dust on the vehicle is also probably a give away, but not much to do about that. Trail3
I have stayed at the Hard Rock a couple of times. It sucked. Caters to the young party crowd and they do not know how to close a room door at 3 AM or to keep their mouths shut walking down the halls to their rooms. Kept me up all night. Great place to party, pool area is great, but not a place to get a good nights sleep.
