Rumor has it the costume contest is about to be sweetened with a very nice prize. So if you have been on the fence about actually dressing up this just might help you make the decision. I will leave the announcement to The Large One. :roflol:

Yes there is a costume contest around this match (why? why the hell not!)

So to encourage participation there will be a prize awarded for the costume choosen by Indiana Section Staff

Rules:

-Must be a character from the movie Blazing Saddles

-Must be worn at some point at the match (either during the shooters meeting, lunch, or if you want during the match, but since it is STI contingency you don't have to wear during the match)

**Prize awarded will be a certificate for a Glock**

So here is your chance to be:

Oh yeah, we are serious about the costume contest

We are 2 weeks out from the start of the 2011 Indiana USPSA Championship Match!!

The response to this match has been HUGE, we currently have 287 registered competitors. We still have room for 9 competitors on Sunday and 16 on Friday with staff. Surely you guys know 9 people that want to come out and shoot this on Sunday!! Really this close to 300, there has to be 13 people that you can get to come along!!

Below is the schedule of events and times, please check them closely, and these times are EASTERN TIMES.

Also based on what is in the system as of Sunday I am pre ordering plaques and we will have them to pass out Sunday after the match for an awards ceremony. Also at the time we will be awarding the Glock 34 donated by Target Sports to the competitors that signed up before May 29th, and we will be awarding the certificate donated by Glock for the Costume contest for your favorite "Blazing Saddles" character costume. (You do not have to be present)

We are also going to have a Springfield Armory 1911 .45acp that will be raffling off and it will drawn for and awarded at that time as well.

I want to thank you up front for choosing to come out and shoot out match for making this what looks to be not only the largest Indiana Section/State Championship, but the largest USPSA Sanctioned Section/State Championship ever!!!

Thanks

Jake Martens

MATCH BREIFING

THESE POLICIES ARE AS IMPORTANT AS THE RULES. YOU ARE

EXPECTED TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE CONTENTS OF

THIS MATCH PUBLICATION. QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT

THE SHOOTERS MEETING.

COLD RANGE: WRPC is a cold range. Firearms will not be handled anywhere on the range except in designated safety areas or under the direct supervision of a staff RO. Handling firearms in the parking lot is unsafe gun handling.

SAFETY AREAS: WRPC has numerous primary safety areas which are clearly marked. Other than on the line these are the only place to dry fire, perform gun repair, etc. No ammunition may be handled in any safety areas, period!

RULES: The match will be run using the current edition USPSA

Handgun Rules. The safety rules will be those enforced, no exceptions.

OBEY YOUR RO’s: The RO’s are here to assist you in having a safe and fun match. If there are indications that you are becoming unsafe, attempts will be made to warn you. If you have become unsafe, you will be stopped. If you hear STOP, FREEZE, or a similar command, stop with your gun pointing downrange, finger outside the trigger, safety applied and await further instructions.

SET STEEL AND TAPE TARGETS: Your squad is expected to stay

together and help set steel and tape targets to maintain stage efficiency. All members of a stage are required to help reset the stage before the next shooter, the RO\'s will stop the squad and remind them that everyone needs to help.

ALCOHOL: No alcohol or recreational drugs are permitted on the range, PERIOD.

SCHEDULING: You are scheduled to shoot at specified times noted in the squad schedule. If the stages clear early and your entire squad is there and if the CRO agrees, you may start early. As you can see we have a long day, so please do all you can to help the RO’s and make sure you show up with your squad and turn in your scoresheets immediately, Stage Briefings will not begin until all scoresheets are turned in.

EYE AND EAR PROTECTION: All competitors must wear eye and ear protection while on the line. Eye protection is required by everyone on the range, including spectators.

CALIBRATION: If a popper has failed to fall and appears to be out of calibration, the shooter may challenge it during scoring. It will be checked; if re-calibrated, a reshoot will be required for that stage. If a popper is down, it is assumed to be calibrated. Poppers are calibrated with minor 9mm ammo per Appx. C1.

ARBITRATIONS: Arbitrations are initiated with the presentation of the $100 cash fee and the completed arbitration form delivered to the match director or rangemaster. Forms are available from the rangemaster.

DRAWINGS AND DIMENSIONS: Drawings and dimensions shown in

this booklet are approximate and may change due to safety or

production considerations. There may be additional no-shoots, vision barriers, or other changes. Inspect each stage carefully and listen to the stage briefing.

DQ POLICY: Any violation of rules under 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 anywhere on the range will result in a match disqualification. This applies to anywhere on the range.

Jake,

I am on squad 18. Does that mean my registration is 1:35-1:55 PM? Or do I need to be there at 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM to register with Saturday competitors?

Thanks,
