  1. I’ll can say that even with near zero prep, mine had lasted on my match gun for a year. There’s one small spot on a corner where it shifted slightly. Not enough to really make me want to replace it and it hasn’t moved since. Little bit of fraying by the magwell from handling. I’d be happy to continue using talon grips.
  2. +1 on that. They know they are going to sell. Base pad companies know they have to fall within specs. eyeballing my tubes, I swear I can see the difference between them. Probably just in my head but I’ll fix them tomorrow and try to measure them beforehand.
  3. Now that y’all are talking about when they were bought and how old they are. Just checked my three new ones. 3 21 rounders and 3 TTI base pads bought on Black Friday, two failed and one passed. will say the gauge is super cold. Just dug it out of the garage. I doubt it would have that much effect on it but I’ll try again in the morning if I remember

@Stuey found it. Just order it and have it shipped to you lol. https://www.greentophuntfish.com/walther-ppq-m2-q5-match-steel-frame-pro-9mm-17rd/

There’s a steel walther something at my local gun store. Astronomical price though. I’d have to find it and remember what it was exactly. Beautiful though, that’s for sure!
  6. I’m not saying I wouldn’t gauge my mags. Just saying if I were the end all be all at a match and someone had a mag that fell out of tolerance by a fraction of an inch and provided no possible way of an advantage, I’d want to help that person out. But like I said too, I understand that the line has to be drawn somewhere. even if they said 141.25-142.25 passes, companies would make base pads that push it right to the max, possibly knocking people into open. It’s a lose lose. More just stating, I’d like to let people by but that brings issues of its own too, so couldn’t.

You’re ruining my dreams as I’m saving for a new 2011. I understand what you mean though. Shot my edge for the first time in years and I shot like poop. Just not used to it anymore where I’ve put hours and hours behind the sig

I’m getting that x-carry because I simply want one. It’s already got a trigger job done to it. I figured with that FCU, the spare plastic x5 frame, and spare x5 slide then I can swap the fcu and bring it as a backup gun to majors.

I don’t think it’ll happen. Icarus has that market kind of right now and they aren’t authorized for CO. Then sig already has the AGX frame that some people have switched too. I honestly may give it a try myself.
  10. @RangerTrace I’m with you on this. Common sense can determine if there’s a competitive advantage or not. A 142mm mag isn’t an advantage. But I also understand that the line has to be drawn in the sand somewhere.

I’m about to scoop up my first x-carry here soon. Found a pretty decent deal including extra x5 (non legion) frame and slide. It’ll be nice having a closer resemblance of a back up match gun

Hey now. I love my 220 and 226. Oddly enough, I’m not a huge fan of the 229. That’s kind of what I was getting at. I feel like bang for buck, lord of people chose the 320 to get into CO. It was under $1000 and tons of aftermarket support. Then people wanted to try a different platform to see if they did better with it.

I do as well. Plus I have to much tied up into sigs to switch lol.
  14. This whole thread makes me remember that I have a bunch of new mags I have to gauge and inspect before majors start to kick off it’s definitely a known problem though. I believe it was here somewhere that I saw a post about the foreign made tubes fit and the us doesn’t or vise versa. I honestly just expect them all to “fail” per my liking. “Slight pressure” to fit the gauge is so vague.

Ive “noticed” that too. I use the quotations because I really only look at sigs. I’m sure people are unloading other platforms too. Maybe not at the same rate but how popular is their brand vs the 320? as far as the canik goes, when nils said “watch this” and won it was game over. For the next year people were going to buy them all up. Hell, I looked and held on but it wasn’t for me.
  16. I got a local tomorrow. It’s on the charge now. I’ll have to tinker with some settings and play with it today
  17. Y’all are going to make me like it even more. I just hit record and it’s off the the dumpster fire lol
  18. I haven’t marketed them yet. I need to. However I am talking with the barrel manufacturer as well. Of course, he’s trying to rule out every other part minus the barrel. And he may very well be right. I have plunk tested three other brands and one falls out freely. The other two need a bit of a love smack on the receiver. I don’t see any signs of the round hitting the lands on any of the test rounds I’ve been trying.
  19. There’s a wind noise setting?!?! Hahaha. I need to play in the app more. I also don’t shoot enough in pro mode
  20. That’s awesome. I’d imagine if you already knew how to use that kind of equipment so you remove a lot of trial and error cost, it pays for itself rather quickly in this hobby
  21. Seeeeee. This is what I wanted to do with my edge but every builder I’ve talked to in the past local-ish to me isn’t taking on modification orders. looks awesome! Who did you use?
  22. So I’ve never shot a USPSA lvl 2 yet. I have however shot a lvl 2 steel challenge. Even something as small as that was a test (for me) on managing energy. It was a longer day that I was used to and simply more dragging gear around. what I personally got out of that was the experience of seeing and talking to vendors (even got to shoot bill dudas nemesis). I also met one of the coolest dudes who became a good friend of mine who turned out to be a GM that’s helped me a lot. all in all, I hope that experience carries over in the USPSA side as I have five planned this year. Lol. I think the challenge will be worth it.
  23. I use videoleap. You do have to pay for it but I’ve enjoyed using it. It makes IG worthy videos lol.
  24. I love my go2. So much that I bought one, used it for a match, lost it during my move, bought the bigger 64 gb one before the next match. Ended up finding the original one later in a traded it for some gear. im computer dumb. I mean dumb dumb. I figured it out well enough for my liking. I will say however, I use a third party app for bigger edits. I find it a bit easier but I pay annually for it. don’t think you’ll regret it. I’m considering getting the x3 so I can mount it to a barrier and have it follow me so I can have first and third person shots
  25. @TonytheTigeri thought about what I said about shimming it the other night. I’m not sure why I said that haha. I was frustrated I had a really expensive, terrible bolt action gas gun lol. the gauges haven’t arrived yet but the snap caps did. I know it’s not the same by any means but I had to see if it cycled. It does. Load the mag, send the bolt home, rack the CH, ejects cap. Works fine. Seems that the ejector spring may be a touch stiff as sending the bolt home about a 1/4 of the way forward will load the next round but not attach to the rim of the case. Either way, possibly another issue at another time. makes me question that my chamber profile may simply not like the hornady a-max bullet. Maybe that isn’t the case at all. But for information, here’s a list of some measurements from the rounds used to the cap. freedom munitions: rim diameter 0.465 neck diameter 0.340 OAL 2.790 snap cap: rim diameter 0.465 neck diameter 0.335 OAL 2.493 maybe this can help in solving the issue until more tools arrive.
