For people that will never shoot it, I don't get the resistance. State up front that people need to man up and shoot the hard lean/rope type stages with one arm or accept the procedurals. Stop acting like we don't make stage design decisions for different guns- 8 round arrays are for a reason, as are no tiny low ports that eliminate dot and big stick use. Don't pretend like we don't make general exceptions either; what happens when an amputee shows up to shoot one of your vaunted rope stages? One of the proudest moments of my time as a shooter was seeing a vet in a wheel chair wheeling around the stages while others reloaded his mags with a huge shit-eating grin on his face. Level III match? To him it was. We thrive because we present a variety of interesting shooting challenges that a variety of people with a variety of guns can do. So long as it doesn't slow the match down (1 gun per shooter solves this) or present safety problems (slung, flagged, open, cased- they are all equally safe) why does anyone care? My somewhat gun-shy wife shot my PCC for the first time today- not only did she claim if for her own, she is interested in shooting matches with it! This is a perfect venue for new and especially junior shooters.

I used to use the bandoller tied off and slung across my body. The cardboard holds them pretty well if you peel the fabric back out of the way. And they are free and reusable.

I have done thousands of 240B brass. No issues. I wouldn't do more than 2-3 loadings though, MG's tend to be a bit rough on brass.

Powder check gave too many false alarms- haven't used it in years. With auto indexing it would be hard to double charger or squib unless something is funky going on. When I have stoppages, I stop before ramming home and check to make sure everything is going as it should.

It's out there if you stay on top of the market. I've gotten 20lbs of TAC and 10lbs of WST in the last month.

I ended up using a dremel to enlarge the (now) top ports to larger than stock. It had noticeably less flip than before. I have another I will throw on my gun and compare. If anything, I now realize Miculeks are super easy to work on and not hardened like other comps. If my new one on a different rifle has flip, I won't hesitate to whip out the dremel. I will put up some pics once I get to the range.

Long story short, gunsmith pinned and welded a Miculek brake upside down on my fiancé's 14.5 AR. What are my options- drill some holes or reshape the port to give more force upwards? It pushes it up noticeably. Not a huge deal since she is a new shooter and not super fast anyways, but it will be more apparent as she shoots more and gets better. Thanks.

I just got one of these and put about 100 rounds through it last weekend. Really nice, clean optic. The reticle is a bit busy for my taste, but it should work. The only issue I see is the BDC seems kinda wonky and too flat shooting... what load are people shooting to match those ballistics?

That's what I thought, but the pistol rounds were in line with past speeds. Outside, daylight in the shade. Screens were up. I will retest this weekend.

I just bought a case of this and fired around 300, no issues. The only issue is it chrono'd at 3600 average out of a 18" Nordic. Anyone else have stuff that hot? Ambient temp 55 degrees. Chrono seemed to be reading right, had pistol speed correct as well as a 14.5 with same ammo about 300fps slower. No signs of primer flowback.

I ran a new upper the other day- Syrac adjustable GB, Taccom ULW buffer, standard spring and JP carrier. Muzzle stayed perfectly still while running quick doubles. Amazing difference compared to a standard buffer and full open gas. The best part? It was without any kind of comp. Bare muzzle, no movement. I need to figure out what I'm gonna mount; with that carrier/buffer/gas block setup I'm afraid any top ports will drive the muzzle down.

How do you like the comp?

My girlfriend will be in town this weekend and I'm giving her a rifle for her birthday. Any place in the Vegas area that would have private bays available for rent. I know Desert Sportsman has them, but I'm not a member and don't want to be one one just for a weekend. ...only you would have to wait 3+ hours to order, and when you got the burger it was made not from beef, but from soy, and they cost twice as much as everyone else. The reason they have 'such great customer service" is because they can make a profit from it, and no other reason. Less people return their product than they have to replace parts for. It isn't magic. The only magic is that some other company hasn't bent them over the barrel in business via materiel quality, listening to customer complaints, and actually producing new designs. And if you only like them because they pay some model (who has probably never handled or shot weapons prior to the photoshoot) to be on their cover, I have something to introduce you to for purposes of looking at pretty girls: the internet.
