  1. I have had a Midway 1288 tumbler for almost 20 years. I wore out the bottom of the bowl and it wouldn't hold the media anymore. What should I get now. I have a dillon and think it is too expensive. Thanks Bshooter.
  2. I just came back from the SS Nationals. I also shoot a Kimber. Mine weighed in at 40.5 ounces with a S&A mag well and the mag. I am thinking about adding a tungsten guide rod to mine. Don't know what they weigh but should be about right. Bshooter
  3. I am looking for 9mm casepro dies. The web site is obsolete and so is the phone number. Can anyone help me? Bshooter
  4. I can't help but think Robbie is the best shooter in USPSA. He has won everything except Revolver and Production. Look how many time he has won the single stack. Robbie, you da man. Bshooter Sorry Rob, I meant World shoot Prod.
  5. I would like to compliment a few LE that I shoot with. They are usually the ones I try to keep up with. I believe I can shoot as well as they do but when it comes to movement, at least 35 years younger makes a big difference. I had a young deputy come up to me after a match about a month ago and thanked me for pushing him. (Not physically, just to shoot better.) I really felt that was a compliment. Even at my age I always call a LE sir, especially if he can out shoot me. Bshooter By the way, I know a veterinarian that shoot extremely well too. I sure wish he would give me free advice about my dog. Bshooter
  6. Just put some 4.0gr 231 with 125 grain TCFP out of an XD9 tactical. Bullets were made by S&S Casting with an overall length of 1.065. They averaged 1078 feet per second. I will be cutting the powerder to 3.8 or 3.9 and reloading like you know what. Bshooter.
  7. Canyon Creek is my vote. I have both XD9 and XD40 tacticals with Rich's trigger work. Outstanding! I have had people tell me they feel like 1911 triggers. Couldn't be happier. Bshooter
  8. I shot in a Multigun match this past weekend. There were a few new shooters but I know most of them had shot in a multigun match before. They all looked and talked like Rambo. Every piece of equipment you could think of on the equipment belt. I believe some of them were LE personel. I am glad to see these people try to expand their shooting skills because most of them don't practice at all. I tried to talk to them about how they were going to shoot a course of fire. They didn't seem to want to listen. I have been shooting competitively for over 20 years, but I am almost 62 years old. I guess the old man don't know what he is talking about. Well, when it was time for these whipper snappers to shoot, none of them could not negotiate the course without screwups. I finished second in the match out of 20 shooters. I am not saying that you have to listen to the "old timers", but while the match is going on, pay attention to how different shooters go through the course of fire and learn from it. I am not sure if this is the right way to say it, "If you talk the talk, can you walk the walk". These guys were talking big about all the things they have done, but they didn't look like they could pour p*** out of a boot if the instructions were on the bottom. I am not saying I know it all, I am still learning from good shooters. People just don't pay attention at matches. Rant over, keep coming to the range. Bshooter
  9. I agree with VegasOPM, the 550 is easy to use. the manual indexing helps you keep an eye on things and with a case feeder, you can load anything you want. I have had 4 of them set up at one time. Since moving I had to let 2 of them go but still enjoy reloading on them after 20 years. Bshooter
  10. I started in USPSA over twenty years ago. I was 41 at the time and was a D class shooter. I became hooked on the sport and worked hard, purchased up to date equipment and practiced. I had the luxury of having a shooting range in my back yard. I moved up to B class rather quickly. The first year I attended the Limited Nationals in Fredrickburg, VA I shot about 30,000 rounds in practice. I finally got to A class in Limited and Limited 10. Getting to be a Master or Grandmaster has only been a dream. How many M or GM do you see that made it over 50? I am now 61 and have slowed way down. I mainly shoot Single Stack now because I really enjoy it. I shoot with a young (24 years old) sheriffs deputy quite often and he thanks me for pushing him in a match. I don't think I ever have pushed anyone but I enjoy the compliment. If you never make GM or even M, keep shooting. Help a youngster out who can't afford the sport. I have offered equipment, ammo, and entry fees to youngsters to get them started. I'll never make GM but I sure hope I can help someone who will. Bshooter
  11. Started 20 years ago with a Beretta shooting in D class. Have moved up to A class limited but aging bones and failing eyes will prevent me from getting my M card. Guess I am happy to be where I am. Shooting every weekend. Bshooter(Had this handle since I was a B shooter)
  12. I believe you have to go East from the Interstate. There is a box with envelopes in it and you have to put $3 for each person using the range. Still very cheap. There is a 200 yard rifle range, 100 yard rifle range, a pistol range and a shotgun area. They also have restroom facilities. There is usually someone watching the ranges to keep the idiots out. I have been checked to see if I had my flap from the envelope in the window. I think it is called Babcock-Webb. Bshooter.
  13. I agree with GrumpyOne, Florida is the shooters state. I moved here in April from Illinois and I get to shoot at least 3 weekends a month. Now that the weather is getting better, the matches will be so full, it will take longer to shoot. What a problem. Now I won't have to carry as much water and Gatorade in the cooler. Bshooter
  14. Peanut butter jars are my favorite. I eat a lot of peanut butter and have kept ammo in them for years. Put a label on the lid and write what is in the jar in pencil. When you empy it, erase the info and refill. Skippy or Jiff make the best ones, real sturdy. Bshooter.
  15. I would not use Small Rifle Primers for any revolver round. Shooting a revolver using double action could result in a light primer strike which may not ignite. Most semiautomatics will ignite a small rifle primer. Bshooter
  16. Check with Rich at Canyon Creek. He makes a sweet single stack with snake skin serations. I am happy with mine. Bshooter
  17. It was almost one year ago, when I was at a match in Florida, I was moving from one shooting position to another and stepped in a depression and lost my balance. I tore my ham string on my right leg and broke my left hip. I now have 3 titanium screws to remind me of that fateful day. Now every time I go shooting, my family reminds me to take it easy. Bshooter
  18. I started in 1989 with a stock pistol when I was 41. Twenty years later, I would rather shoot than go golfing and I live on a golf course. Bshooter.
  19. Performance should be rewarded. However, the older I get, I cannot shoot up to my classification. Doesn't seem likely they will lower my classification so it there is a way to make everyone happy, go for it. You won't please everyone. If they don't like the way you give away the prizes, let them stay home. Just my oppinion. Hope I get to shoot it. Bshooter
  20. I have used VV310 in my 45s for a long time. Jacketed or plated bullets - 4.2gr with 230 gr bullets. Lead bullets - 3.8gr with 230 gr bullets. Always made major but make sure they do out of your gun. Bshooter
  21. What is the deal with not being able to get Safariland Equipment. I have a couple of XD tacticals and would like to get a paddle holster for them. A friend said he got his here now it seems I am out of luck. Can anyone help me? Bshooter
  22. I know Jim personally and shoot a lot of his bullets. He guarantees all is bullets. He also has the best prices around. Order quickly because like everything else, lead prices are going up. I talk to him on a daily basis and he keeps me informed on what is going on with the prices. I believe his last price list is as of 3-1-09. It is still good but don't delay. Let him know you read this from the "Big Sardine". Bshooter
  23. JThompson, thanks for the reply. I actually made one of these quite a few years ago. I thought it had been stolen but just got it back from a guy who borrowed it. It was left at a range and he took it without me knowing it. He intended on returning it but I didn't know that. Well, I have it back and it is in good shape. I will definitely take some pictures and try to post them(I am kind of computer illiterate when it comes to these things.) I really enjoy shooting this. Wish I was better. Thanks to all who replied to this. Bshooter
  24. Hey JThompson, did you get the video you mentioned? Sure would like to see it. I think I can reproduce the holding mechanism. Let me know. Bshooter
  25. Could someone take a picture of the back side of a Texas Star. I would like to know how the plates are held on the the arms. Thanks. Bshooter
