  1. In my personal opinion, a Charlie Vanek Classic Grandmaster Production legal trigger with the Jager striker w/extended tip. It's smooth as glass with a crisp 2lb break. I've been running his triggers for 7 years now, and they have never failed and I've never had light strikes unless I had a high primer at my press.
  2. I have one of those triggers, and the trigger safety tab has been trimmed so it will still engage because there is so much pre travel taken out, which makes it illegal for Production, because its an external visible mod.
  3. I don't think this is accurate. You can remove pre travel the same way you remove over travel. There is no visible outside modification. As long as the safety tab engages then i don't see removing pre travel a problem. In most cases people want to remove a lot of take up, for the most benefit, just to where the trigger comes back out at reset and stops, therefore needing to trim the safety tab so it will still engage. By doing those 2 things the rules have been broken because now the trigger looks different than stock configuration because it sits further back than stock, and the safety has been trimmed.
  4. Basically, in a nutshell, any Glock trigger with the pre travel taken out is illegal for Production Division because it's an external mod and it changes the look of the trigger. Overtravel with a set screw is fine because the set screw is internal so you can't see it.
  5. No problem. Also the Wolff springs are like that, smaller on one end.
  6. Small end to the rear, small end on the guide rod first. Big end goes near the muzzle.
  7. I used to use a 10lb Govt. Model spring for minor.
  8. I wouldn't worry about the fiber optic using a lighter to loosen the loctite, you can replace that. But I like to just use a hair dryer for heat.
  9. For reliability Charlie Vanek gets my vote. Been using his classic triggers now for 7 years with no problems.
  10. It says "SJC 9mm" Ok thanks, and sweet gun!

    OPEN GLOCKS

A lot of the videos I'm seeing of open Glocks shooting seem to be flipping as much as Production Glocks. I had an SJC Major 9 about 5 years ago, and I remember being able to track the dot pretty well, it went right to the top of the c-more lens then came right back down, I never lost the dot. I really don't know if my old gun was flipping much or not, if it was I couldn't tell because the dot tracked so well.
  12. Curious, does the KKM barrel from the SJC home build kit say "match" or "9mm" on top of it?

    17 or 34?

I can't explain it, but the G17 just feels faster to me and I am able to track the front sight better.
  14. Awesome, thanks for the great tips.
  15. what's the bloody nose cure? Thanks.
  16. One of the nicest shortest most light triggers I've ever felt on a Glock was from John Nagel at SJC Customs. He changes angles and relocates the trigger pad. Have to send your gun to him though to be fitted, but it is nice.
  17. Well, I went back to the stock striker spring in my 34, and with the 13lb recoil spring it started coming out of battery. Switched to a 15lb. and now I'm good to go. Could tell absolutely no difference between the two at range.

    Only ONE GLOCK

Only 1 my fav would be the 17.
  19. I shot a black front for abot 3 years before trying a fiber optic front. I didn't like the fiber front as much and my accuracy suffered slightly on long shots and tight no shoots, but that could be overcome with practice. I found that I just preferred the clean sight picture of all black, but my eyes are having problems focusing on it not so I'm trying the fiber again.
  20. On my 34, the 25 cent trigger job got my trigger lighter but not much smoother. The Vanek classic grandmaster drop in got it lighter and smooth as glass. Worth it to me.
  21. I use 4.8gr of WSF with a 124gr in my G34 for a 130 pf. It gives me a nice soft recoil and is fairly clean.
  22. Nice looking shooter. How hard was it to screw the comp on the barrel? Did you have to lock it down in a vise or can you do it by hand?
  23. The super swage should work at reaming out the crimped primer pockets. I have just been using a RCBS swager hand tool. Once I ream the pocket I really don't have anymore problems with them. That reminds me I need a super swage, they are pretty cool.
  24. Everything is working perfectly on my Palm with WebOS at least and I love it. Hope he can get full functionality back with the forums and somehow get 2.2.
