  1. Tripp makes 10 round mags for 9MM for 1911's
  2. Liberator Flashlight Lots of clubs run low light and flash light stages inside. it's a lot of fun, but you need the right equipment........ Here is one discussion Liberator Flashlight http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60287
  3. Find the -0 zone under the head, you'll find it with practice.... get night sights SOON, and a flash light you can use... (REALLY PRACTICE THIS!) AND HAVE LOT'S OF FUN! it's cool ........
  4. My buddy Dave is now been infected with IDPA, Looking for a good IDPA pistol, he has found a great single stack .40. Which Tripp 9+1 mag is recommended for .40 .40 or .10MM (for longer OVAL) Let us know your experience................
  5. Started May 1988, shot 1990 Nationals as an A, been there ever since................ I did practice in 88,89, but not any more... Life gets in the way. Go where it takes you & enjoy the ride!
  6. That's what everyone asked about mine (lack of) technique! (get some F'in velcro) Its hard to reload & hold a friggin flashlight at the same time, although walking & chewing gum gives me trouble................... Biggest deal is making sure your pistol goes to slide lock & you can drop the slide after the reload.... (I'd cheat, and bent up that slide release on that Glockenspiel & superglue some skateboard tape on it, that is If I could even shoot a Glock) PS, you didn't sell your open gun I hope? Dutchess Co. 3/30 see you there. no pistol? come anyway, we got extras.....just PM me
  7. I've been shooting it too! Make sure you work on your flashlight technique! I didn't have one.......... Have fun!
  8. Surely you dropped that mag after the stage was over and you were arranging your gear - that's the way I remember it. The MD would have seen it if it were any other way. Craig Yeah, that's what happened................ PS, I'll try working up some 180PF flame throwers for my wheelie, may have to try'em in Dave's Ruger first though!
  9. So last night, I go to the local match, ready to try & shoot yet another pistol. The plan was to try my 586 in SSR...... Of course the match started with a low light (in this case, just about no light stage) As I'm waiting to shoot, looking at my poor excuse of a flash light, I decide this isn't a great idea to try two new things at the same time. (shooting a wheelie & trying to use a flashlight at the same time!) Quick switch to my 1911 ESP and .... Well, we really should have had nightvision video! Beep, can't find the light in my pocket , then can't find the on button, geezzz, No night sights, pointed the flash light in the wrong direction, fumbled & bumbled, you get the picture......... Finally put it back in my pocket & used the "Force".... Of course, the second stage was in the dark also, little better on that one until I dropped my mag on the reload! Once again, I have a new found respect for IDPA shooters & their skill sets! Off to order a miners hat! Can't wait for the BUG gun experience............
  10. I'm working on it, I'll suprise you one night........ Can't decide between moon clips or comp III's........... Comp IIIs. Moonclips will put you in ESR, so you'd have to load to a 165 PF and shoot against easier-reloading 625s. Besides, it takes class to shoot with speedloaders. Thanks for the info, I gotta keep reading that rule book! Comp III's it will be............. Thanks again!
  11. I'm working on it, I'll suprise you one night........ Can't decide between moon clips or comp III's...........
  12. It does, and is easy to shoot, but............ Being the old cheat'nmfn USPSA/IPSC (gamey) shooter I am, It looks to me like 9+1 in the single stack may be the way to go! no more than 18 rounds per course, gun to slide lock after 5 targets, reload four targets to go! (odd number round (10+1,8+1) pistols have to re-engage the same target twice!) time is money (or at least a better finish!)
  13. A good reason to reload every caliber. 2 1050's + 4 Square deals = not getting poked
  14. So now I'm getting down to it, Learning as I go. Pistol #1, Caspian widebody 38super ESP, minor loads, makes weight, new mag pads coming to make the box. With a little work it goes to slide lock most of the time......rounds: 10+1 Pistol #2, Single stack 9mm/38 super ESP, this is an old single stack comp gun, Dan Sierpina my old gun plumber is willing to convert it back to bushing barrel, goes to slide lock 95% of the time. rounds: 9+1 Pistol #3, STI .45 widebody, commander slide, bushing barrel. Shoots low (with 19 year old 200 gr SWC 175 PF) with fixed Novak sights, ( I have adjustable to install ) can use for CDP or ESP. if I understand rules correctly.................. can go 10+1 or 8+1 Opinions Please, which one would you use for IDPA?
  15. After I ruined one mag, I decided to take a really radical approach, I called Caspian. Guess what, thay already make a flat mag base pad that fits the IDPA box, ordered 10 today. Hey Merlin!
  16. I did this already, ENTJ ask anyone who knows me.................
  17. Geezz Flex, I think you scared him away! this poor guy is probably going to the SIG forum or something!
  18. Started in 1988, Single stack was all there was, Colt Gold Cup, stock as it came from the factory, .45 ACP 5.7 231, 200 Lead SWC, Smoky but effective! Man those were the days! Three stages at a local match and they actually paid you if you won your class! ............................ But then, I was turned to the DARK SIDE , first a Wilson LE comp I added to my .45, then the must have .38 Stupid with 10 round mags, P-9's . Caspian Hi- caps, STI's Complete madness set in I'd like to join, but I'm afraid I too far gone! Well, I gotta go get some batteries...........................
  19. 2007? Not so much 2007, Technical difficulties, combined with a case of myheadesupesasses, and I was too in awe watching you! There is always next time!!

  21. Count me in, a few Bedells and even an iron sighted Open gun (really had it built because and iron sight shooter told me I probably couldn't shoot without a dot....... ) He has been since proven wrong!
  22. I got this one for 7 beans from here (you must have been sleeping that day Merlin), all I had to do was remove the scope mount & install Bomars...Shoots like a Champ It even came w/ four mags............... Even a blind squirrel gets an acorn sometimes..
  23. Brand new postal scale says it weighs 41.5 oz. with an empty mag. This is an early frame with openings under the grip panels and it's built with a Colt non-ramped .38 super barrel, if you ever seen one, their thin in the middle with a bulge at the end where it meets the bushing, these likely factor in its making the weigh in................. Now I need to come up with some short base pads to make the box! What did you use Merlin?
