  1. I had hold of the hammer with my left thumb & index finger, I think it actually slipped free as I released the trigger. The slide bit my lttle finger of my left hand as a reminder. Simply needed more attention.
  2. So today, feeling a little burnt out, I skip the NE IDPA regional's, and at the last minute decide to go shoot a local IDPA match. Stage 5, on LMR, I touched one off, My error, no excuse! Show clear , pack up my stuff and crawl home. conditions: I was shooting SSP, using a CZ75. Knowingly having to HOLD the Hammer, Pull the trigger, to let the hammer down. (not a decocker) I have done this hundreds of times. Lesson, lose focus for a second! bad things happen. luckily, shot went down range at mid chest level. Safe a AD?, no such thing really.........
  3. Those familiar could only say: better anti-depressants need to be prescribed. Our heartfelt prayers are with you..............
  4. Sometimes, when I feel like going back to the old days! With a little more modern equipment...........
  5. I always use stage 1 of the match (and sometimes stages 2 & 3 to practice). Then I start the warm up Working 7-6 leaves no time for live practice.........
  6. That about sums it up!, I have Dillon 1050's because I don't have time (hate) to reload........ with 1050's & bulletfeeders , I'm about 2.5 to 3 minutes per 100 rounds... I'm sure Hornaday makes fine stuff, but I'll stick with my Dillons 9 x 21 what bullet feeder are you using? I have two 1050's and a 550 and would not trade them for anything for all of the reasons already said. As I read in a book once though, it really isn'nt a matter of which progressive you have; just that you have one... I have two KISS (now aka Mr Bulletfeeder) feeders, they are awesome! I recently got an RCBS, but I still working out the kinks for use on a 1050. They look good for 550 /650's though........

  8. Good solid machine, Simple, easy to use, I think I had one resizer die fail in twenty something years............... I think I have 6 of them, (about 1/3 what Merlin has!)
  9. I have 2 KISS's myself on 2 1050's, but picked up a third 1050 and decided to give this RCBS a try. The RCBS is $150 less, It is fine for 550 & 650 machines. I could make the modifications more permanent by ordering some replacement parts from RCBS and expoxying the parts into one peice. I won't know how they hold up till I do some volume loading. I will keep the group updated
  10. Just spent a little time hooking up a New RCBS bullet feeder to a 1050. My impressions are it will work with a bit of modification. First impression of the overall machine are pretty good. The bowl & feeder (while a very different design from my KISS feeders), seems to work fine, not very fast, holds about 200 bullets (per directions) It does not have an on/off switch. (you have to unplug it) which is a pain, I will be adding one to it. It does have a micro switch to stop the motor, but it is just inside the bowl, so the feeder spring gets filled up before it stops, (different than a KISS which just fills the bullet tube above the die.) The feeding Die has a pretty simple & straight forward design. The adjustment to make it work is easy. It comes with conversions for .45,.40,.38/.357 & 9MM. but, The only real modification I had to make was to the feeder spring /bullet drop tube assembly that sits on the die. This system is really designed for stationary toolheads and the bullet drop tube just sits in the die and the feeder spring just sits on top the the bullet tube with no real attachment. I used some plumbers teflon to hold the top together and a couple of orthodonic rubber bands to insert the bullet drop tube into the die. these mods allow it to stay together while the tool head goes up & down and still retains the ability to disassemble for conversions. I did have to shorten the feeder spring about 2" to make it go on a 1050. I ran a couple hundred dummie rounds, It seemed to work fine. To sum it up it looks like it will work for the casual 1050 reloader, but the modifications are not strong enough for heavy duty reloading. The KISS/Mr Bulletfeeder are the ultimate way to go for the 1050 The RCBS feeder looks like it is GREAT for 550 & 650's or any press with a stationary tool head. I'll post more when I load some live ammo, waiting for dies set from Dillon........ So, now we know.......
