Their not available yet. I think by mid summer.

I'm loading 124gn fmj's from Delta Precision to OAL off 1.140 and the gun is a Glock 19. I don't think it's touching the rifling.
-
This may be a stupid question but how do I know if its clearing the rifling? I dropped it in a barrel and it went in all the way easily.. You say little crimp is needed but if when you load a round it gets pushed back, couldn't this be dangerous or at least be detrimental to accuracy? When I dropped the slide on a factory round there was no set back after three times.

I loaded a shell to 1.140 and pushed it against the bench and it didn't seem to change but, when I dropped the slide from slide lock it went to 1.138 and .002 less each time I did it after that. Should I keep crimping till I get no change. I don't want to over crimp and screw up accuracy. Any advice would be appreciated.

I just got 1000 124grn fmj's from Delta Precision and am about to start reloading for 9mm. (Already do for 40 & 45). I've noticed that some people use 124grn jhp's from DP instead of fmj's. Why? When your just punching paper & steel shooting matches why would you use a jhp? What am I missing? Thanks.

For Steyr fans this would seem like the best option for competition. Though I would have liked to have seen a 5" barrel, they increased the M9A1's from 4" to 4.5" This one is definitely on my list!

I'm looking to get a 3 gun rifle and was thinking of going with the JP15. This would be my first AR based rifle even though i've owned others, Sig, AK, XCR, FAL. When I started looking at other rifles I noticed some of these come with a Billet lower that has a flared mag well. The JP15 does not. I know their CTR rifle does but I dont want to spend that much. I actually have a cmmg forged mil spec lower that I was going to send in to have them build the JP15 on to further keep the price down. My question is, is a lower with a flared mag well that much faster or better? Or is it not that big of a deal and many of you do well in 3 gun without it? Thanks.

As a competition pistol it is a step in the right direction. Nice length & sights but... It still can't compete with the Glock 34 & Smith & Wesson M&P pro because the bore axis is way to high. A high bore axis = more muzzle flip = slower times. What they needed to do is a major redesign where they lower the bore axis and make it so you can get your hand higher on the frame.

I have an XCR and use it in local 3 gun match's. It's been super reliable. I'll see tons of AR's have issues, but my XCR keeps on ticking. It might recoil a little more than a DI AR because of the inertia of the heavy AK type of rod. I just installed a PWS muzzle break on it so we'll have to see how that works. The new ones have a really nice trigger, which I put in after the fact. I haven't done tons of accuracy work with it but I will concur with the poster above that accuracy could be a little better compared to AR's. I use an Trijicon Accupoint TR-21 in a LaRue mount and I don't think its mounted to high. I like it cuz its a little different from everyone else and does the job.

How does kydex treat stainless steel? I know there's no finish to wear off but does it scratch it up, i've got a stainless cz75b I plan to use in production and am looking for a holster?
-
It isn't an AR but I use a Robison Armament XCR and like it alot.
-
My agency issued Sig p229 in .357 sig has over 17,000 rounds and has had no problems and thats a pretty high pressure cartridge.
-
I used a Robinson Armament XCR in a local match and did quite well. Piston driven and reliable.

Any pics of the new retical?

I had been using a FN FAL in the heavy metal division but recently got a Robinson Armament XCR. So I will see how it does this year.

Anybody have a range report using this scope? Possibly how it performed in a match?

I'm switching to a Beretta 92 Elite II that I already own from a kimber .45 to save some money on ammunition and to try my hand in production. As I'm doing this, I notice that I don't see to many berettas at matches. Why is this? How many of you use Berettas and what model? Thanks for your response. Steve

I'm going to the SSM 3 gun match at the end of the month. I was going to send some ammo to my friend in AZ so I don't have to bring it on the plane. What is the best way to send it? US mail, UPS, FEDEX? Any help would be appreciated. Steve

S&w M&p Or Xd Tactical For Production Division?
tenchu74 replied to tenchu74's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Yeah, I just don't care for the looks of the Glock. Not to mention, everybody and their brother shoots one of those. I kinda want something other than the standard but still competitive. I really like the lines of the M&P but maybe I'll wait till there are more accessories and user input for the gun. I do have a beretta 92g Elite II I could use if I want to shoot production now. Steve -
Hey guys! I currently shoot a Kimber Target Match 45 in L10 or Heavy metal for 3gun. But am thinking about shooting production just to change things up and was considering a XD Tactical in 9mm. And then all of a sudden the M&P 9mm comes out with rave reviews! Decisions! Decisions! Of those of you've who have used these 2 weapons in competition which do you prefer? Which ever one I choose I will get a trigger job and fiber optic sights. Is the extra length of the XD tactical better or is it not an issue? Which is a faster shooting platform? Thanks for the advice!! Steve

You should check out the Livingston County Gun Club in Brighton. They have pretty good 3 gun matches through the summer and fall. Steve
