Aren't many of the big matches such as Superstition Mountain, DPMS, Rocky Mtn., Fort Benning, judged under the International Multi Gun rules which it seems does'nt score major or minor? If so wouldn't a hi cap 9mm be the obvious answer unless your shooting heavy metal? Steve

I have to agree with nipplehead. I think that single stack should be limited to a few novelty matches a year like the single stack classic. USPSA & IPSC are GAMES and limited 10 allows the 1911 to compete in interesting stages against a bunch of targets and to be competitive against other platforms. Besides most of us are geared up for L10. If you want a more realistic match with 8 round mags and no mag wells shoot IDPA.

At the moment I shoot a 1911 in limited 10 but am planning to try production soon. I was going to get a Springfield XD9 tactical. Lately I've noticed quite a few people shooting production with loaded down fortys. Why would you you do this when 9mm is so cheap? I don't reload, and to start seems like a waste of my limited time and a pain in the ass! Should I reconsider, is there an advantage to the 40 over 9? Thanks for your input! Steve

Do you need or suggest to have slings on your rifle and shotgun. I don't use them at my club matches but I've never shot a major match like this one. Steve

I shoot a STG58 that was built from a kit by Arizona expert arms. I've used it in several local matches and plan to use it in the smm3g match next week in AZ. It works great and recoil isn`t to bad for a 308. But I would only use it in heavy metal class, not against those 223`s unless its just for fun in your local club matches. Steve

I'm going to shoot in the smm 3 gun match in 2 weeks and need to know who sells some good pouches and possibly a thigh rig for FAL mags. I've tried 3 gungear.com but can't get a hold of them. what are some other options? Thanks. Steve
