  1. Not sure if that is completely true, at least in my experience. I think the cycle of the bolt and buffer using a tuned load can create a situation where the dot has minimal movement even if felt recoil is heavier/harder. I.e. the muzzle returns quicker with a hotter load versus a softer load where the muzzle meanders back to original Point of Aim. I ran my GMR loads hotter which lead to harsher recoil because it made the dot move less. What I have found similar to what you are saying is that when in less than optimal shooting positions, a lighter bolt/buffer system properly tuned can give you better groups. When you grip is not on point on the rifle with the lighter system it seems to have less felt recoil and my groups are better. In other words lighter systems create this situation more than felt recoil. I am still playing with loads for my JP5 so I do not know if the felt recoil holds true with that platform, but my GMR ran flatter with hotter loads, i.e. harsher recoil. I find the JP5 has way better groups when my grip is not optimal in those strange positions. I attribute this to the lighter bolt/buffer system, more than the felt recoil. At least this has been my experience.
  2. People equate softer recoil for less DOT movement. That is not always the case. At least it has not been in my experience.
  3. How long is this handguard, and which option did you choose when ordering. Does the handguard contact the Piston and/or barrel?
  4. When someone has a moment can the take some pictures of the fit of the gun. I have to admit some of the first pictures I saw of the fitment of parts was not good, but from the sounds of it MPA has seemed to have fixed those initial issues. I am curious for the product you are getting at that price point.
  5. That's the reason I liked the Original GG Trigger that used a sleeve for Over Travel adjustment.
  6. Putting a Red Dot on the gun. If you run a Red Dot the sight radius of the Iron Sights is a Moot point in that they will rarely used if ever.

For gaming purposes it makes some since to add some weight to mitigate muzzle flip. In a carry situation I do not feel it does. Problem is that people see the max limit for say a CO gun is 59oz and think they need to add all kinds of weight. Far from the truth. The weight helps, until it doesn't. Different weights of pistols are going to work for different people, however I do not see the benefit of a CO gun weighing more than 45 oz and that is heavier than I prefer. Where the weight is added will also differ from pistol to pistol.
  8. Ah Nice. I noted the different Color and at a great price point. I have been looking for another Module, so maybe that's the answer. Thanks.
  9. I have this thought as well. People (especially USPSA shooters) trash IDPA all of the time. My frustration with IDPA is the rules that leave some rules up to SO judgement makes for less than desirable results in my eyes. That's it. I do not trash IDPA shooters. It is a different game. I have respect for people who shoot IDPA just as much as any other shooting sport. It is not for me, but that does not mean it means a lot to others. Same goes for SC. Exactly. Let the data speak for itself.

You could but I cannot imagine it is worth the effort. People get too hung up on making their guns heavy. If you have a 5" P320 put it on the clock against your current AXG. I imagine it won't be slower.

I did the same. No slot for the weight like in the Poly or TXG grip modules. I think the thought there is the back strap is removable. Weight can be introduced there. There physically is not enough room on the grip for both a removable backstrap and a slot for the grip weight.
  12. I have heard this as well, and with the addition of their own mags, it seem like they are moving to manufacturing most parts in house.
  13. Sorry not Pre Travel, that should have read Over Travel.
  14. I think you keep LO at 141 mm mag size. They can do whatever they want to CO mag capacity. The best idea being make Production and CO the same round count at 15 rounds. This would make CO and LO a little different. This would also minimize the revolt when you move CO to 15 rounds. If someone wants to maintain their 141 mm mag capacity they can shoot LO. Something else that has not been discussed is maybe return CO to a division where you cannot use a light and LO you can use a light?
  15. I am not sure that is the correct way to look at how people are going to initially see the division as a new shooter. I think new shooters will be to bring gun with a dot they can buy over the counter and immediately shoot it in a Division without having to do anything to the gun. Load up their mags, and blast away. Do I think it will increase membership immediately? Doubtful, it will cannibalize other Divisions initially, but I can see a situation where majority of the new shooters end up in either CO and/or LO. Imagine a Division you can just show up and shoot, and be on a level playing field in regards to PF and mag capacity (for the most part) without having to a darn thing to your gun. I think LO will keep new shooters around longer. If LO actually becomes a Provisonal Division I think it will become very popular very quick. It will be interesting how is shakes out regardless of any of our opinions.
  16. Most likely the adjustment screw moved and removed too much pre travel. I found that you had to have around 2mm of pre travel for the FCU to reset properly. I would back that screw out completely and see if the gun exhibits the same issue.
  17. If someone is a true competitor they know at the top it does not matter what gun is used. They know they have to put in the work to be on top. There should be a place for Minor SA gun to participate and be competitive.
  18. I can agree with this, but I do not think applies to those in the conversation.
  19. Can we stop conflating the terms playing and competing? Can you shoot a minor 2011 (or any minor gun for that matter) in open? Yes you can, but realistically you are just playing, not competing. Can you compete in Open shooting a Minor gun? No, not really, because an Open gun set up correctly is a completely different Beast. And no, I do not think Nils could win Open Nationals shooting Minor. If you think so you are be seriously disingenuous. I really do not understand there bitching about LO. Try it out as a provisional. Use the data and make the appropriate moves that make sense in the future. Numbers will tell you if it can stand on its own, or if needs to be deleted.
