  1. I have, and I have seen it happen where other ROs have DQ'd shooters for that reason. But it is not necessarily from shooting at the target, to where it is more of the body moving out of position before the gun does, or what would seem is their shot calling is holding the gun in place because they didn't see what they wanted to see on the last shot and the body starts moving out of position before the gun does. If you are specifically facing the target while shooting, no. I have not seen that.
  2. I am already tired of sorting .223 brass so I am looking for vendors selling once fired .223 Lake City brass. I did not see much info on the board about LC Brass sales. If anyone has a line on a good seller please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  3. This was the reason I switch to the EoTech. Closed system after shooting PCC Nationals in FL, and 2 Gun Nationals in Alabama where it rained its fair share.
  4. I personally stay away from MROs. They are one of the worst optics in regards to parallax. I have a couple of buddy's that is testing equipment all of the time and will not buy any MROs due to the parallax issues. If you are stuck on the MRO make sure you get a Gen II. It is slightly better than the Gen I but it is still pretty bad. I had a Gen I and it was horrible.
  5. Yup. I also find with the my astigmatism I do not get bursting like my eyes do with most dots. It is a shaper image. If you see the graininess of the holographic reticle you are definitely not target focused. I used to think the circle dot reticle was too busy. I use to run the Holosun HS510C without the circle. I then switch to an EoTech, and found with the circle and dot reticle I shoot steel at a higher efficiency for some reason. I also use the lower tick of the circle at the 6 O'clock position is point of aim for close tight targets.
  6. I could care less but the Fudds will all be up in arms with their pitch forks. Lmao
  7. What are you talking about? According to those in the know on this forum there is only a hand full of 2011 minor shooters, Limited isn't dying, blah, blah, blah..........
  8. Different rigs I imagine. DAA require one to change two inserts out to switch back and for between 2011 and single stack mags. You also have to decide which way you are running single stack mags. I see most running bullets out, where I see most 2011 shooters running the mag pouches bullets fwd. Definitely something to think about.
  9. Curious to how you know this was due to the mag which is what I assume you talking about? Maybe I am wrong there. The malfunction he had at nationals with his JP5 was due to a dirty extractor. He mentioned that on this board. The JP5 actually has somewhat of a feed ramp on the barrel which is not common on most PCC barrels. I have always been curious as to why barrel manufacturers do not machine in a some sort of feed ramps into their barrels. I do not have experience with all of the barrel manufacturers out there but barrels with no feed ramp seems to be more prevalent than barrels with some sort of feed ramp. While I agree they need attention especially the feed lips, you are typically not dropping MBX PCC mags at the frequency as pistol mags. I have specific classifier Glock mags which are easy to clean and have had zero issue. I have given some consideration to MBX mags due to the extension issues you can run into with Glock mags but I would not want to drop the MBX mags due to the feed lip issues. I have started fleshing this out the various extension issues I have seen. I intend to publish on this board once I get together some pics etc. I think I can see why some extensions have issues where others seem to not have issues. Specifically with the way TTI machines their two different 10 round extensions. It would seem almost all of the issues involving the Glock mags is once you add extensions for all PCCs. I do agree with you assessment of cheaper lowers. I am surprised with the amount of play in my JPs, I cannot imagine lowers which have more play not having feeding issues.
  10. This is why I worked with local clubs and range to create a 2 Gun match which runs 3 times a year. I knew others feel as you do. It has been a big hit. Two of the matches were full with people on the wait list and the other match was about 6-10 shooters from being full.
  11. I believe you void your warranty once you automate any Dillon Press, unless of course you use their automation.
  12. I will bring my P320 AXG Pro at the next match we shoot together. It has the complete Drop in TSA trigger. Ridiculously awesome. As you said the closest striker trigger to compare to a 2011 trigger I have ever operated. An established shooter in our section tried it, but since he has so many rounds on the GG trigger he stuck with the GG trigger because he described it as "A warm blanket" due to all the rounds he had on it. He is most likely selling the TSA in a complete FCU as a package deal if he has not already sold it. As far as the OPs question I would run the competition trigger for carry. The pull on the trigger is around 3#s and I do not feel it as all a safety issue in regards to carrying a gun with that trigger installed. You will not be disappointed with the trigger.
  13. I have been using this for 223 and bought one for 9 mm, but I currently have an expander die in the swage station and have yet to use that die for 9mm. I think I will need to take you approach and process/load 9mm in two passes as I do with 223 to get more consistent ammo.
  14. Thinking about it after you mentioning it, that is correct. It is not a requirement in the Rule set. I am thinking of how our section conducts itself. That is unfortunate.
  15. Are you a certified USPSA RO or CRO? The reason I ask is because in the USPSA RO/CRO classes they are very explicit to say only the Range Commands in the Rule Set once the shooter is on the line. The reason for this is USPSA is shot around the world, and the commands are given in English. This is to prevent misunderstanding for people where English is not their first language and prevent them from being DQd due to this type of misunderstanding. In the class the trainers do mention you can help new shooters in preventing them from going home with some coaching, but mostly stick to range commands. They teach you to not chatter to others and/or the shooter while performing RO duties once the shooter is at the line. Thus, preventing any misunderstandings. The shooter attends a safety course before they are allowed to attend their first match, and must have a basic understanding of the rules before stepping to the line. If they break a rule and get DQ'd, that is part of the learning process. I got DQ'd at my very first match which was an IDPA match for breaking the 180 on a reload. I felt I did not break the 180, and the SO even mentioned in his terms he thinks I broke the 180, but I did not argue the call. I chalked it as a learning experience and moved on. Of course as ab RO you will stop shoooters to keep things safe, but in stopping them if the broke a rule to where the are to be DQ,d they need to be DQ'd.
  16. What size targets are typical slug targets at 100 yds for 3 Gun? C Zone USPSA?
  17. Truly amazing you were for getting roasted for that. The rule is there for a reason. Holstering and holstering guns is where people shoot themselves more often than any other evolution in shooting. Not putting a 2011 on safe when holstering where the triggers are typically running sub 2 pounds is definitely putting the shooter at risk.
  18. Check out the Aero stuff. I would to that direction before I would go Palmetto. Good luck on the build.
  19. I have had zero issue with Glock mags in my JPs. Until you start adding extensions, then there are somethings you need to be aware of depending on the extension.
  20. I would imagine you would need to know the ratio of 9 mm vs .38 Super are failing. I see more 9mm guns fail than .38 Super guns fail. Maybe that's due to the 9mm guys not knowing what they are doing, or do not maintain their guns, but this is an observation I have made. The other issue is how knowledgeable are the people running the gun? I watch knowledgeable GMs ask open shooters have you done this to the gun, have you checked this, and most of the time the shooter has a quizzical look on their face and/or flatly says no. I have to admit I know very little about the 2011 Platform which will be changing this year but I have asked basics about 2011s and most issues seem to deal with the extractor and tuning of that extractor. Also ammo length seems to be a huge deal with 2011s. It has been discussed on this forum a lot about how the 1911/2011 platform is designed around a long cartridge. Are people correctly tuning their ammo to run in the gun in regards to OAL. In our section, it seems more 2011 type guns have issues than striker fired guns. From where I sit it is more to do about the operators knowledge or lack there of than the platform.
  21. Agreed. Not a fan of adjusting dies. I love the ability to adjust it and leave it.
