I’m getting into open after shooting CO since I started USPSA (3 years now). I did a lot of research and considered the honcho. I didn’t go with a Honcho due to the price and wait time/customer experiences that are reported. I’m the kind that picks one division and sticks with it so didn’t really care about the multiple division capable gun (it is cool tho). full disclosure, I did shoot a honcho and it was great. i ended up going with a local builder for a few reasons: 1) He’s local to me. 2) got to see a lot of people run his guns at many matches with no problems at all. shot 4 different ones and loved them. 3) I can, and do, text him and he replies within minutes. 4) awesome price for a custom gun

I have never shot Lim 10 but those Springfield TRP operator with dots on them are cool. I might use that as an excuse to pick one up, if they still make them.

I did email the entire board/org with my feedback in detail as well. I do like the idea of member feedback on major changes, I just hope the feedback is actually used.

I love the 17s but for USPSA I prefer the balance of a 34. Like @TheChewycookiesaid, a minus connector is all you need. Reliability and peace of mind is worth a lot. You can check out one of my posts on how I have my 34 setup. I have the Timney trigger but In all honesty, I prefer a stock with a minus connector. I had the talon grip sand paper version but took them off and I wish I had done that earlier.

A little late to this discussion (18 hours-ish) I would be against bringing in 2011s into carry optics if the division actually was true to what “carry optics” means. Since it’s basically limited/open minor now, just allow SAO guns into CO. We all know that no one is going to win their state or section, or even nats, because they swapped out their Canik for a staccato. So just add SAO to CO and be done with it. I definitely do not like the idea of creating another division. I have no data or a survey to prove this but I foresee shooters will move from their division to LO, and thus not really adding that many more members. Could we get maybe 30-45 new members? Sure, but is that worth it? What really bothers me is that early on this year USPSA leadership said they are not considering adding LO, but here we are voting on it with the illusion of choice. Everyone knows setting up for a division costs a lot of money, so this constant change, secrecy, and “i know something y’all don’t know” is annoying.

Compete with 34 gen 5. carry a 48 MOS with tlr7-sub.

Extremely tight fit, it’s kinda curved on the edges so it “hugs” the optic in. Without the screws I could shake the optic upside down and it’ll still hold for a bit. on my 34 I’ve put about 10k with the plate and it hasn’t moved.

If you’re gonna use a SRO or RMR check out forward controls design plate. Hands down the best plate for Glock mos.

Around 40oz is where I like the gun to be as well. I made a post about my 34 gen with everything I’ve added and the Glock tungsten rod is definitely one of my favorite mods. I might give this a try, seems a lot better than the thug plug, especially that the weight goes higher up in the grip.

I do like the idea of using it for a few reps at the end of the dry fire session. My draw is a weak point for me and recently I have been working on improving it. I will try the timer at the end to make sure I am not taking 3 sec to draw haha They are annoying, my dog leaves the room as soon as he sees me grab the timer lol

Have you taken it out to the range? Interested to see if you can tell a difference. Im on the fence but definitely leaning towards getting one and supporting a Carolina based company.

I’m not too sure about the advantage of one vs the other but with the Glock store tungsten guide rod you have to use their springs. The rod is too thick for normal springs

I have two 34.5 with Timney triggers in them. One was an “older gen” and a new one. The new one definitely has a stronger reset to it, maybe Timney upgraded their springs ? I did have one that the bar was out of spec so they replaced it after a few emails. mine is paired with a zev connector and it’s been working great.

On my 34 I’ve been using the Glock store tungsten guide rod for some added weight upfront. The thug plug is nice for some grip weight. Shooting sports innovation has a nice grip plug that’s a little heavier tho. with the same ammo and 15# spring I don’t really notice that much difference between my shadow 2 and g34. The only difference I think is that the shadow is a little more stable on longer shots on days my grip is being lazy.

Ordered my glock holster on May 2nd and still waiting. The holsters are nice and all but like I’ve said before he should stop taking orders until he can catch up. I’m gonna give the ghost holster a try in the future.

A little update on this setup vs a CZ Shadow 2 I picked up and been shooting for a bit: CZ shadow 2 with SRO, 11# recoil & hammer spring, cgw trigger return spring, lok grips. The Good difference vs Glock: - A lot more stable on longer shots - Easier for me to get a good draw (That’s always been an area I have had to work hard on so might no be a thing for you) - Trigger reset is a lot better than the Timney. - Ability to change grips to preference. The bad difference vs glock: - Cost - Extremely more ammo picky than the glock. - Not as simple to work on (For me at least) What I learned: - Not really that much difference once you add a little weight to the Glock - Both can be ran fast. - Both plenty accurate for our game Making the jump to open so with all that I’ll probably get rid of the shadow to find the open gun and have the Glocks for when I wanna shoot CO.

I recently got a shadow 2 after shooting a 34 gen 5 for a while. Honestly I didn’t see that much difference between the two. Last practice session I ran some drills side by side and the HFs were almost identical. Now it could be that I have more time on a Glock than a CZ and I’m used to shooting it more.
