  1. So I'm getting more into the maintainence of my shadow and was wondering what you keep in your range bag? Really the only thing I have is an extra slide stop. Also wondering how many of you detail strip your frame for cleaning and how often? I also need to clean my extractor, any step by step instructions? Things I should look for?
  2. My wife and I are shopping around to refinance our house. Wells Fargo just got crossed off the list.
  3. My tuned Shadow hasn't habit problems with Remington either. That being said my match ammo uses federal.
  4. Heard the same one about the Irish and the French, it was better that way. Besides, wouldn't the Canadians have to have a permision slip from the PM and the Queen Mother to remove their guns from the range? Anyhow, the original post has been debunked here: http://www.snopes.com/military/lighthouse.asp
  5. Well, that's simply bordering on violating forum rules. We're talking about 1.5" groups at 50 yards. Your FGM guarantees 3" groups at 50 yards on all his guns including the stainless ones, but he does offer 1.5" at 50 yards as an option on carbon steel guns. Can YOU name anyone who guarantees 1.5" groups at 50 yards on any gun they make, or even any guarantee at 50 yards? Probably not. The best I've seen is a 2" guarantee at 25 yards. No comparison. Now, back to the gun store humor. Can you say "Wilson"?? 1"@25 yard guarantee Les Baer From his price list -- Note: Customers can request a "1-1/2” groups at 50 yds.” guarantee on many 5” and 6” steel pistols. This service is available only on Les Baer Pistols. Add... $ 295.00 Now if only he would do a M class guarantee or GM for an additional $295.00!
  6. Trailers traditionaly don't just break in half of their own accord.
  7. On my way to work today I got held up in a traffic jam five miles long. Apparently a semi trailer broke in two and spilled its load on the interstate. And what precious and time sensitive cargo might this moron be carrying that required him to travel at an unsafe speed? LAWNMOWERS! For #$&* sake, LAWNMOWERS IN JANUARY! I sure hope his load gets there on time, because nobody else did!
  8. If the Mayans were so clever, why didn't they see Spaniards with guns wiping out their civilization a whole lot sooner than 2012?
  9. Let's just hope we don't get squeezed out like the fake wrestling WWF did...
  10. I will warn you of two things: 1)Keep an extra slide stop or two on hand. I've never broken one, but others have. 2)CZs are at least as addictive as crack cocaine. Otherwise, keep it well lubed with slideglide and it'll run like a dream.
  11. Obviously the offense couldn't have been that bad or else he wouldn't be Will Hayden anymore. He'd be Federal Inmate #XXXXX.
  12. I just got a call from the FFL and the Les Baer PII 1.5 I ordered on Aug 19 came in today. It's about four weeks earlier than I had expected. The only problem is that I had procrastinated getting my purchase permit thinking I had plenty of time. Oh well, I'm calling in sick to go get my permit and wait a couple of days. The upside is I get to spend the day with my wife on her birthday.
  13. I got like $40 last year from walmart for something about overtime. I haven't worked there in nearly ten years and I have no idea how they even found me. Made me wonder how much the attorneys got and if the people who initiated the suit were happy with their $40.
  14. How about not favoring Glock so much? "A Glock 34's slide hasn't been lightened, that is a 'factory feature' so it can ignore the no slide lightening cuts rule." In that case, my Shadow's weight and FLDC is a "factory feature" so why can't I ignore the rules? Either slide lightening cuts AND FLDCs from the factory are "factory features" or they are BOTH not. It also kinda irked me when the recoilmaster became legal because Gen4 Glocks use a similar system. Stock XDs should also be allowed in SSP. While we are talking about equipment, how about a place for the most common pistol round used by LE in the US today? Sure, you can down-load .40 to 125, but that kind of violates the spirit of the game. Sadly, many people use IDPA as cheap instruction which is just as bad as using USPSA as cheap instruction; at least most USPSA ROs don't promote that fiction the way many SOs I have seen do. Stop teaching people how to get killed by doing RWR. Or encouraging staying stationary behind "cover" during a gunfight. People need to know that the local IDPA match is a game and is no substitute for places like Thunder Ranch, LFI, etc...
  15. Make the time to reload. WWB is at like 200 pf, way hotter than necessary.
  16. Wait until he reads Moby Penis...
  17. I'd be very interested in a review of this product.
  18. Get the 75 Shadow if you want one gun for both. It'd be a lot cheaper than a Custom and a Combat too. Well, I have the Shadow already from the custom shop. I thought I'd be interested in reducing the weight to get into IDPA SSP, but maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into another toy - the 85C. I know there are subtle differences, just curious how easy it'd be to go from one to the other in practice and competitions. Sorry, misunderstood. If you run the same sights and grips on both and have a comparable trigger you shouldn't have a problem. Then again I shoot a G19 in SSP and a Custom inproduction, but I don't think I'm good enough for it to hamper me.

  20. Don't forget to watch the classifieds here...like a hawk.
  21. I found the best way to do a slow build is slowly build your savings account and get the Shadow Custom. My Custom became the reason I worked overtime. Glad I did, it was worth it. Now it's an 1.5" Les Baer Premier II. I have looked at getting a surplus pre-B 75 and putting better parts into it for a cheap IDPA legal blaster and something for my friend to shoot USPSA with. Unfortunatly I don't have the neccesary tools or skills and it isn't a ton cheaper. Maybe I'll get a short dust cover shadow after the Les. I'll be in Des Moines for the State Fair in about a month. If there is a match while I'm in town you can shoot it and see for yourself.
  22. I got a friend into shooting and she wants to get her first gun. She has shot a G35, G19, G22 gen 4, Witness Match .40 and my Shadow Custom. Take a guess which one she likes best . Then I told her just how expensive her tastes were. She still needs to shoot my 75b. She loves the trigger, the weight, the mag release and the front site of the Shadow. Is there anything out there that can come close for a lot less? I have been looking at surplus pre-b 75s and I think I can get close for about $5-600 with parts and work. She is actually really good at this game and I don't want to see her discouraged because of money. Thanks in advance for the help!

    CZ Magazines

Do any of these aftermarket mags work with the custom shops slide release?

    CZ Magazines

I run a SP-01 Custom and I love it. But I am getting more serious about my shooting so I need to pick up more mags so I can do major matches. Boy was I shocked as heck to find out they want $50 a pop for them. Or I could backorder a 3 pack from cz-usa for $150! I know I'm being stupid considering how much I have in the gun to gripe about $50 a mag; but come on, really!?!? What makes a CZ mag worth twice as much as an XDm or Glock mag?
  25. God bless our troops and damn our enemies.
