  1. It seems like a little scotch tape over the lens of the dominate eye would be easier...
  2. Thanks for all the replies and support. It's stupid, but just writing this out made me realize how much of an enabler I have been. Ground rules are going to get laid down today. This was something I had not considered. Anyone know a lawyer in Iowa?
  3. Worked for FedEx ground. I will confirm the "contractors are scum" comments everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.
  4. I drive a guy who lost his license after getting his third and fourth DUI in less than two months. Actually, I drove him for several months, then he got caught driving a car without a breathalyzer and lost his license again. Of course this is all the fault of the police. I never particularly liked the guy, I'd just hate to see him lose his job. He pays me $40 a week, but I don't need the money. It is a fifteen minute round trip in 180 degrees the wrong direction for me twice a day. The problem is that he is irritating. Like listening to Steve Urkel performing a Franz Ferdinand song accompanied by a symphony of nails on chalkboards while trying to log onto the obamacare website. I call him when I'm 2-3 minutes away and tell him as much. I still sit and wait a minute or so for him to come out. He has a covered porch, so it's not like he has to sit out in the rain. He is an expert at everything. Tonight something was said on the radio about earthquakes. He had to let me know that California was way over due for a big one. After a rough day at work, I used to like to stop and have a beer or two with coworkers. That's out now because he always tries to go two to my one and is never ready to go when I am. He always offers to buy me another so he can stay longer. Sorry, I know my limits and I'm not interested in being a moron like him and getting arrested or potentially hurting someone. He whines...about everything. His ex wife, his kids, how unfair it was that he got rear ended a week after losing his license, how unfair it was that one of his DUIs was for "3 beers"( never mind the fact that they were 32 oz), work, how people are mean to him, etc... He doesn't grasp the concept of smoking out the window. He's left handed and holds his cigarette in his left hand when smoking in the truck. No more smoking in the truck for either of us. He uses talk to text...to sext. I shit you not. It's bad enough when I'm trying to listen to the radio for him to blurt out innocuous things, but seriously. After asking me how to spell surprise(no big deal) then how to spell monty(as in the big Monty), he goes ahead and uses the talk to text to tell his girlfriend that, "she is a naughty girl". He gets annoyed by the beeping telling him to put his seatbelt on. Seriously, it does this every time to remind you. You'd think he'd have figured it out by now. Most of this shit didn't bother me too bad, but now he's trying to quit smoking by smoking coco bean shell cigarettes. Now he isn't getting nicotine and feels the need to talk more. Or rub his hand over the stubble on his chin. Or give me advice. Or like tonight, pulling up highlights from a high school football game and play it full blast on his crappy, metallic-sounding phone while I'm attempting to enjoy Rush's Working Man. Is it too much to ask for him to be outside waiting for me without having to use my minutes, for him to sit down, put his seatbelt on, shut up and let me just drive?

  6. You should have left the lawn mower there to make sure she doesn't do it again .
  7. The worst people are the ones that peel them and put them in the plastic sacks so the don't have to pay for the weight of the peel.
  8. Couple of beers and Netflix do the trick for me every time.
  9. And they pound out from the left to right. Left to right from the barrel or stock end?
  10. My brothe just turned 18 and bought himself a RRA mid length flat top. It has the standard front site gas block. The salesman sold him on a leupold 1.5x4 ar scope. He told him that the scope would "see past the front site". As you can guess, it does nothing of the sort. Can anyone suggest a replacement gas block? How difficult is it to install?
  11. I shelled out the extra $295. I still spent less than a Wilson or other similar builders. After two misses, I made a bowling pin dance with the rest of the mag at 100 yards yesterday...with WWB. I'm happy.
  12. I know of exactly one man who can make a Para run the majority(51% or better) of the time. He's in Iowa.
  13. Wow. Glad no one was injured. What was the cause of the tank failure?
  14. *blink*blink* Did...did they get the bad guys?
  15. This is just a production / IDPA rig. A blackhawk kydex paddle, heavy leather belt and (usually jeans). This is happening from many dry fire repetitions. It has not occured in a match. perhaps I need to practice with dual belt setup. If you are shooting IDPA you won't be able to use a dual belt set up and the holster has to retain the gun. However, to hold the gun upside down only requires three pounds or so of resistance. Play around with adjusting the holster just right and then work on pulling the gun straight out of the holster.
  16. What holster are you running? If it can be tensioned, loosen it up. A smooth draw shouldn't make your belt move a bit.
  17. Go to the nearest major match with a stack of cash. Look for the guy who is getting the most frustrated with his gun not running. Offer to take it off his hands.
  18. The 2012 Indiana Championship wouldn't happen to be one of those, would it?
  19. I know a guy that shoots Baers very well. He was pretty active at major matches in 2011-2012. Those years he had a top 5 and a top 10 at Area 5. In six sectionals he had four podiums-including two wins-and two top 10's. I know it's the Indian, not the arrow, but his arrows must have worked without an alibi. Personally my PII has had one failure to return to battery, but that was inside the first 250 rounds. I've seen 1911s from $500 to $5000+ crap out at matches. The only two that I've never seen fail were Les Baer PII's and a Springfield TRP. The TRP did have an odd quirk though. Sometimes after cleaning and reassembly, the guns point of impact would drop significantly. The owner would just disassemble and reassemble the gun and the problem would be solved. Most bizarre thing I ever saw. My only complaint about my PII is that the bluing is very thin. If I had it to do over again, I'd have sprung for the DuPont S coating.
  20. I have the techwell with mil-tac grips. Nice magwell, nice grips.
  21. Mine tips the scales at 42 oz with rubber grips and no accessory rail. I'm contemplating changing grips, going to a plastic guide rod and adding a mag well.
  22. Anybody do this? How are you setup?
  23. Would it be possible to get rid of that bs texture on the front and back straps and have it checkered? Is there enough material there? Legality?
