    Shadow 2 Optic?

I am planning to send my S2 slide out this week, but i wanted to find out, How much does the slide weigh with the optic, after the work is done? Looking to know if it is enough to add a magwell for IDPA.
  2. But what should have happened is a collaboration between MD, or whoever determined the problem, and the stage designer / setter-upper to adjust and explain their reason and methodology so to encourage volunteerism instead of kill it. Hearing about a match every week at the same club is a little odd, at least to me. Around here, the club MD's collaborate and alternate match weekends through the month so that shooters get to move around to different clubs and there isn't the weekly pressure to set up at the club, that could cause volunteer burn-out.
  3. Reading through a lot of the comments, it sounds like the issues are more club level. Around my area, there are about equal amounts of IDPA and USPSA clubs, the USPSA events draw more activity, but I would venter to say that there is an equal amount of health in each around here. I think that it comes down to the club level leadership and if they have a healthy desire to grow the sport and accept new shooters and develop them into active and engaged participants. You can't have a SO that is going to be an a&& and expect growth, and that would be on the MD to feel that vibe and select SO's that will reflect the direction of the club. I now that the MD of my club has a hard time finding people willing to be the SO. That tells me that may be the case else where, and is the reason that you may be finding poor quality individuals to fill the roll. Maybe it is time for more people to show their love for the action shooting sports and volunteer and be the great SO that you found is missing. Too many people pay to shoot and expect it to be a this great luxury experience (a luxury experience based on the amount of cash that it takes to be actively engaged in the sport) and feel justified in their complaint, and forget that these are all volunteers. I have seen GOOD SO's quit, because some "rich a$$ is expecting to be treated like he is at some 5 star accommodation and berates them on their judgement call, or stage reset efficiencies while he stands around and just ........ well you know. What I'm saying is get in there and make the sport great, it is up to you.

    TS2

I do agree about the magwell, but the gun is built for IPSC standard class and they use 9mm. not the USPSA 40 cal major PF. If i had to guess, it will be coming in 40 at some point.
  5. Here is a pic of my SP01 set up for ESP, the ACCU-Bushing will add a little weight, but i wouldn't think an ounce.
  6. You could buy a new gun, but then it becomes an expensive paper weight.
  7. CZ Custom has a number of different options for longer barrels for the SP01. They are also "match grade" and that makes them way cooler.
  8. Here is a video of a tour through an ammo factory. I started the video at the primer manufacturing part. It doesn't look that intensive, sure plenty of safety precautions, but other wise fairly simple. https://youtu.be/5_O9gSKFguU?t=228
  9. Before I ordered, i called, and got a good enough feeling that i did a 10,000 pice order. That should keep me going through the summer and then hope things normalize.
  10. I plan on sending it to Primary Machine. They did My P09 that my son uses and i was very happy with the work! Their S2 slide work they have been doing for 2 or 3 years, and I haven’t heard any negativity any where with what they do. At times they, they have additional slides in stock and you can by that and have 2, one stock and the other milled and set up for CO.
  11. I can't speak to how the S2 reacts yet, I just got mine and plan to send it out as I get more pennies together. I looking at the few video reviews that are out there and info that I have read on this form, I can't find a negative. I have been shooting a SP01 for a few years and have completed all the CGW / CZC upgrades and will be moving into the S2 this year. The biggest difference that I have noticed so far is the length of the barrel / slide lending it self to better accuracy, next is a slightly ergonomically better grip feel (but not so different form the SP01 - Shadow 1 to cause a problem) lastly the added weight of the wider longer frame. All that will be retained in lightening the slide, and you get a faster cycling rate.
  12. You only need a 7% reduction in total weight. Unlike myself, i need a 30% reduction
  13. Look through this topic, it goes in to good detail and description, also pictures.
  14. For the S2, With the slide weight reduction, a few choice composite parts (grips and guide rod) and CZC plate system it can be used in ESP and CO for IDPA.
  15. WOW, Just 8 k per year. That's amazing for how amazing JJ is. A lot of great advise here!! Maximize practice and conserve live rounds. my next order from the BS pro-shop will include more dry-fire targets.
  16. When a year ago 1k primers were $33.00, and now for the price to be a little more than double, sucks. If your sitting on 50 thousand of them, than you may be able to wait it out. But if you have 6 months worth......... what do you do???
  17. I came accross a company on the WWW that looks new and they are taking "pre-orders" for Unis Ginex Small Pistol Primers. The Price is mostly fair. the site is www.trifusiontactical.com Has anyone heard of them? I just cant afford to be out the cash with no product, like most people.
  18. I already have have it, I'm am just wondering if anyone has tried it. for shooting sports use, i would have to figure out a way to do at least 100 at a time, and then setting the anvil, i would probably need to make myself a special tool to not set it all the way down, but still far enough to ignite. it would take 4 to 8 times longer than manually flipping primers and loading primer tubs.
  19. Has anyone used the "Prime-All" primer compound and re-primed their primers? Labor intensive, but available if it works.
  20. That is what I think also, because if "properly stowed" meant using an approved method for mag storage, there would have been a reference to 8.6 Ammunition Carriers. If "Properly stowed" can be interpreted as in your hand, or in your waistband, than it is open for gaming. I also don't think that it could be in opposition to: 1.1 IDPA’s Fundamental Principles C. Provide a level playing field for all competitors that solely tests the skill and ability of each individual, not their equipment. Or, 1.2 Principles of Shooting IDPA 1.2.2 Participation Principles A. Competitors will not attempt to circumvent or compromise any stage by the use of inappropriate devices, equipment, or techniques. B. Competitors will refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct, unfair actions, and the use of illegal equipment Because pants pockets are included in the definition of a "Ammunition Carriers" but there are no disqualified pants defined, even though "tactical pants" with pockets everywhere, are an advantage to a regular par of jeans, I think that if a mag pouch has a magnet on it, and by all other means fits the definition, it's good and usable.
  21. That is the ambiguity that I am referencing. When your are starting the stage, you would be always using the same start position, per 8.6.2.i The same exact location for magazines, magazine pouches, and/or ammunition feeding devices in pockets must be used for every stage in a single match, unless otherwise specified in a stage description. but for for a tach reload, "properly stows" does not provide a direct reference to "8.6 Ammunition Carriers"
  22. I feel like if tucking a mag into your waistband is ok, then there is latitude for other things also...
  23. You can't drop a mag that has live rounds in IDPA like you can in USPSA. Options that I have seen for mag storage include; back into your mag pouch/holder into your concealment garment pocket pants pocket tucked between your pants and shirt held in your support hand and cargo pants pocket Under RELOADS: 3.4.7 Dropping a loaded magazine or speed loader/moon clip does not incur a penalty as long as the shooter retrieves and properly stows the loaded magazine or speed loader/moon clip prior to the firing of the last shot in the string of fire. "properly stows" does not provide a direct reference to "8.6 Ammunition Carriers" What else could that mean? Obviously tucked between your shirt and pants isn't defined, also holding it in your hand isn't ether. Could you use a magnet??? What are your thoughts. The term "properly stows" isn't found anywhere else in the Rulebook.
  24. After getting the CZC base pad, I thought that i would get 24, but i guess that was a pipe (mag tube) dream. The stock extended plastic P09 pad does 22 rounds.
