The plastic guide-rod it really isn't that much of a difference, not even a 1/2 oz. I have one, and do install it at matches that will weigh the gun, but only as an additional precaution to avoid a DQ. What really helped is that I lightened the back sides of my grips to save weight. here are 2 different setups I use, both are under weight. I use the 18 round mags, with the 17 round mag base pads.

Want to Build/Buy Compensated Gun for Carry Optics sub $2,000
Andy9 replied to Endyo's topic in IDPA Shooting
You can be almost as cool as me ( except the LOK brass grips installed in the pic) Shadow 2 - $1,100 Primary Machine milling - $385 after the additional slide lightening it makes weight for IDPA under 45oz. no problem. Holosun - $350 4 extra mags - $100 Red Hill Holster – 85 Total - $2,020 -
It wasn't mentioned what , if any swapped parts may be in the gun. But with Cajun Gunworks parts, sometimes the safety can operate. This is Known and mentioned in their information.

nope..... it is just sold out everywhere. Everyone wanted to put it on there SP01 You could machine the end of the SP01 mag catch flat and drill and tap it for the release button. And LOK Grips makes all sorts of buttons. https://lokgrips.com/gun-grips/cz/cz-shadow-2/accessories/mag-release-button/

It is a non-optics ready Shadow 2 Orange. It does make weight, 44.5 oz. To do that requires the slide to be machined to loose about 3 / 4 oz. and this was done by Primary Machine. The grip and magwell are from LOK Grips and have relief cuts on the back side for additional weight reduction.

I have a S2 Compact and a 75 compact. Both have very manageable recoil, and with a good grip, almost none. The S2C has an alloy frame, while the 75 Compact is steel, and i don't think the difference is really noticeable. A friend of mine put up a video review of my S2 Compact and he did one on a PO1, both with alloy frames and the PO1 would be very close in comparison to the Shadow Line Compact. PO1: S2 Compact:

There are a tone of threads about the S2 making weight for IDPA. Here is mine, Shadow 2 Orange, with the slide cut by Primary Machine.

The recoil spring is a captured spring system.

Yes, the nonexistent parts, super frustrating. But is did get a S2C

I'm not saying that it isn't fun to mess around and build a cool gun! But what is the reason that you are looking to do that? What division would you be planning to shoot in, if for competition?

Has anyone worked on a reduced weight slide spring? IDPA PF for CCP is 105 and working a light load i don't get a consistent full slide cycle. It comes with the captured flat spring, and it doesn't look like it can be taken apart easily.

My Shadow 2 set up for IDPA CO is 44.5 OZ So there isn't any room for a WML. I wish there was, i have a TLR2 with a laser, that would be fun

The 19 round is a 17 round mag tube with an extended base pad. it won't work with the CZC mag well. There are some base pads that will work with the 17 round and the LOK Grips magwell, including the base plates from LOK Grips.

That is a good gun to use!! My son has a CZC 75 shadow, and I use a shadow 2 in IDPA CO. with both we use the CZ custom magwell. you will need to use the 18 round mags with thin base pads. I use the Metgar 17 round base pads an it work perfect (then you don't need the $20 aftermarket machined aluminum base pads). Other option is from LOK Grips, they have a great new magwell option!

I recently got a new Shadow 2 Orange, sent the slide to Primary machine, and had it back in 4 weeks. Ready for IDPA CO!!

That is what I run, but had my slide lightened by Primary Machine. I love the new LOK Grips and magwell!!

I just started to take on some stage building responsibility at my club. Sketchup looks great!! But i would need significantly more time to learn the program than I have. I tried Trident Stage Designer, and even though it isn't as good looking as Sketchup looks, it was super easy to work with!! one vote here for Trident Stage Designer.
