  1. I'll admit I had to do a little smoothing on the inside of mine, but no big deal. I'm not at a level where a half second or so on a mag change is going to cause me to lose anything so.... And I'm cheap!
  2. Well, I'm going against the grain and I use a Titan Rocket. It's not as "Pretty" as the TF or the one jp sells (I forget the name), but it works, and for about half the price. Other than classifiers how often do you need to change mags anyway?
  3. Congrats! I was following your threads while making a decision on mine also. i ended up with a jp. Are you still getting both? Man, you have a lot of patience. I know it's necessary because of your location, but still..... Hope you like it.
  4. I think you need to ask yourself what is your goal with your shooting. Are you going to be competitive right off the bat and plan to win most of the time, or do you just want to have fun while doing reasonably well and shooting mostly against yourself. I believe you're right in that production would be cheaper, but you don't have to have a .40 and all those other "goodies" to still have fun and do reasonably well with limited minor.
  5. Does it matter if the slot lines up with the scs assembly?
  6. At the bottom of the buffer tube there is a thin washer (for lack of a better name) with a slot in it. The slot appears to line up with the bottom of the scs system. It is not attached to anything and it looks like maybe grease is what holds it onto the scs. What is this for and is it supposed to be attached to something? Thanks
  7. Amen, rip. Reply to Steve's post.
  8. OK, here's one for all you math geeks out there. How many possibilities are there considering 5 steel weights, coupled with up to 5 tungsten weights, coupled with 8 different springs, and then with (let's say 12 just to put a finite number on it) powder combinations? And that's with only one bullet weight. We won't even go with all 3 popular bullet weights.
  9. OK, thank you. That's the kind of info I wanted.
  10. Well then, what will it be?
  11. So I could just take a 3 second penalty, but get a down zero on the target. That would still be better than a miss or two -3 hits, or a hit on a non-threat. Remember I'm shooting pcc and hard left leans are really hard for me because I just can't seem to aim with my left eye. I have a laser and use it. This scenario wouldn't happen often, but it would be handy to have in the toolbox for those times. Of course, obviously, the 180 would not be broken.
  12. Yeah, that's the way it was explained to me. I can throw two quick shots toward the target and step out and then pop it twice all a lot quicker than trying to switch sides and find it through my left eye and shoot while trying to stay behind that fault line. I'd like to know the exact rule to provide to an so that thinks I need a pe for not staying behind that fault line.
  13. I don't shoot much idpa so I'm not familiar with a lot of the rules. But last weekend at a shoot I was told by a reliable person that once you have engaged a target, whether you hit it or not, you can step out from cover (aka-past the fault line) and shoot it again. This seems like a Godsend to me for those hard left lean targets.I'm shooting pcc. I'd like to print this out and carry it with me. Could someone provide a link, please, or tell me where to find it. Thanks.
  14. I have the new bolt in mine i guess because it holds open on last round. When I talked to Andre while ordering he said they probably wouldn't be ready in time for mine to go out with it. But when I got the gun it had it. I have the short stroke system with 5 steel weights. It shoots much flatter and quicker than my Colt. I don't know what makes it work, but it does. My trigger is their standard competition trigger advertised ar 3-3.5 lbs. It actually pulls at 2.75. I like the trigger too.
  15. My 2 cents. I applaud those who can shoot a pistol even reasonably well. You have the skill and have worked at it and you enjoy it. That's great. I don't have that skill and the work I've done is not enough. Plain and simple is, I suck at it and it is not as much fun. Not everyone is good at some things. But with a PCC it's a different story. I'm decent with a rifle and I enjoy it more and am willing to work at getting even better. That makes it just that much more fun.
  16. I just put a cf handguard on my JP to give it a lighter front end. Feels much better to me now.
  17. I shot the Smoke handguard in a comp today. I LOVE IT! It really makes the gun balance better for me and I could tell no difference in dot movement. I highly recommend them.
  18. Depends on your definition of dirty....
  19. Nothing special, just keep it oiled.
  20. FYI, for those interested. On my scale the Smoke handguard and nut weighed 5.9 oz. The JP handguard and nut weighed 14.45 oz. Haven't shot it yet, that will happen next week sometime. I bought the 12" pcc handguard with top rail from Smoke.
  21. I just ordered the Smoke handguard to lighten the front of mine. It should be in tomorrow or Monday. I ordered it with a rail on top so I could mount my laser out front on top and I may put an offset mount also. I have one from my previous pcc that I'll use if I do. If you call and tell them at Smoke you shoot competitions they will give you 20% off.
  22. That's something I have to continually keep telling myself. You'd think it would be habit by now, but noooo.....
