  1. Does anyone have any stage pictures posted anywhere from the 2007 LPR Nationals? Due to the rain I didn't drag my camera out much for the first 2 days. I'm trying to explain the teeter-totter stage and a few others. Pictures would make a big diference. Thanks.
  2. I just picked up 2K at Cabelas 2 weeks ago for $24 @. I had to get them, to keep them out of the hands of Wisconsin shooters.
  3. Just chiming in with a big +1 on the hogue cylinder release. It's the best thing since sliced bread and soft butter. The best place to get them is from SLFLR (North Mountain) on here. It gets your thumb out of the way if you have a long one, and reaches your thumb if you have a short one. It's go fast looks have high CDI (Chicks Dig It) factor.
  4. Thanks Jay. Got it now. I don't understand why none of my earlier links would work, but now I am in.
  5. Does anyone on here frequent the Pine Tree club in Rockford, IL. I haven't been able to get their website to work, and I see that they are no longer listed on the USPSA list of clubs. Did a bad thing happen and I missed it until now?
  6. Happy birthday Bill, Now that you are older and near retirement you need to start slowing down, not speeding up. But look at the bright side, now you can set your range bag on your walker!
  7. Prof, +1 on seeing a picture. Try to get a good model though. The color of the shirt, etc. makes a big difference. Otherwise I will probably be in for one.
  8. I have the 5 poster, and must admit that I have never run dry. Also, they would not be as heavy if you guys would quit putting all that powder in all of the cases. You only need enough to make chrono. However I have not heard of the single post for the intitial load or HS! factor. Bob, what gives? Are these held back for your 'Special Reserve' customers? Is this now the next step in the revolver equipment race?
  9. Don't worry. We are really looking for your women and any beer greater than 3.2%. The primers are kind of like dessert.
  10. Took a little trip up to La Crosse, WI on the bike this last weekend. Of course a scenic ride wouldn't be complete without a stop at Prairie Du Chien and the Cabela's store. Picked up 2K of Federal 150's. While not my dream price the $24.99 a thousand was better than the earlier price of $30. So I am able to keep my current stockpile hovering around 20K.
  11. I guess the lessons learned here are: Stage design - Don't design a stage that includes a built in disadvantage for tall shooters (not that I am but we could get some ex-NBA players any day now). Or, as has been said be specific about the instruction in the walk through. Stage design - Like the Prof. said (nice shooting with you by the way) what some shooters were doing was to kneel or squat, stick your arm through to the elbow and blast away at the targets. The screen material allowed the shooters to clearly see muzzle direction etc., but this type of design at the club level could have negative consequences. RO consistency - as we have heard whatever call you decide to make do it for everone. Fault lines - rear fault lines suck. In my case I was close enough to the front wall that I cut my hand on the port. Oh well, I didn't go expecting to win, but I did expect to learn. This definitely was one of those learning experiences. And, I did keep my ammo cans under my belt on 9 & 18.
  12. While shooting a ground level port at the 2007 LPR Nationals I got dinged for 4 foot faults. Shooting from a low kneeling position inside the shooting box, my toes had extended over the back fault line. I was shooting with the the tops of my feet flat on the ground and my toes pointing up range. I only ask this so that I can correctly apply the rule as an RO in the future. Let's forget that the fault lines had sunken into the hamster chips and mud. And, in now way did these faults hinder my attempt to overthrow Jerry M. as the King of Wheel. Also, I want to thank all of the people who CRO'ed and RO'ed. I am not questioning their judgement at the time one little bit. They made the call and that's it, but I want to learn how I should call that when I see a similar situation. My first thought was well I was over the line and that's that. But in reading the rule book I find this rule: 10.2.1 - A competitor who fires shots while any part of their body is touching the ground beyond a Fault or Charge Line will receive 1 procedural penalty. However, if the competitor has gained a significant advantage while faulting, the competitor will be assessed 1 procedural penalty for each shot fired while faulting, instead of a single penalty. No penalty is assessed if a competitor does not fire any shots while faulting a line. I don't feel that this created a significant advantage, and should probably have been scored as a single procedural. The thoughts of more experienced RO's are appreciated.
  13. I hope you mean the gun I don't think the other will help your shooting at all.
  14. Luke, Tell Cliff to say it ain't so! "Come back Shane!" Free Cliff! Free Cliff! Free Cliff!
  15. Had a blast with everyone, and as always I learned an incredible amount. Now I only have a year to get it worked into my subconcious. Fantastic to meet so many who were only avatars before. Didn't get home until almost midnight. While going through the Lake of the Ozarks they were having a HUGE bike rally with thousands of bikes so I pulled over for 3-4 hours. Since I wasn't going to make it home by dark I played tourist along the way and saw some great stuff following Route 66. You guys are all my heros.
  16. Nelson, You will be able to tell when Tom and I make it to the Best Western. Who all feels that the proper contact person for Saturday night for anyone from Area 5 would be Dr. Dre???? Then he can conjugate to the other area coordinators. Packing up now, and pulling out at 06:00 in the am.
  17. Ken, It looks like you, Tom, and I are back at it again, along with some new faces. We get to have the great and powerful R. Perdue, and Nelson to help us along. I know your memory is fading but we finished on the chrono last year, not started. If you recall I was able to dazzle them with my full power factory ammo at the very last. Then we all went over and took a squad picture. I bring up the picture because the guy who took our picture didn't get mine to work. Apparently the trigger pull was too great on the camera (probably a bottom feeder) and he didn't actually take a picture. Did anyone else from that squad get one that came out? See you guys Saturday night.
  18. I usually use the timer as a reverse alarm clock. When it beeps I go to sleep.
  19. WM - You can always nap during the stages. We will wake you up when you need to. Just don't forget to bring a blanket so we can lay it over your legs.
  20. Now that we are close to all leaving home and hitting the road, what routes are popular for travel. Taking Ray Hirsts' recommendation, my plan right now from the Northwest Illinois is: QC to Hannibal to Jefferson City to Springfield to Tulsa. Planning on riding down on Saturday depending on weather forecast. I know that we are all traveling different routes but WM, Dr. Dremel, Keith, and Tom I have all of yours. Hopefully I won't need them until dinner time Saturday night. If anyone else is traveling that way and needs another Cell # lifeline let me know. Anyone up for a Revo dinner at the Rib Crib some night?
  21. Hey Xre, Why don't you get him to let YOU take over the podcasts? I have really enjoyed when you have been on as the 'special surprise caller'. Let him know that some of us are getting the Dry heaves waiting for the next podcast. And a side note about Matt for everyone. I sent him an email about our clubs upcoming match. We are having 10 stages, 6 classifiers, a catered lunch, and door prizes from Springfield, Dillon and MATT BURKETT all for $35. Matt was kind enough to give a healthy boost to our prize table. This is important because we have been bringing in a LOT of new shooters to the sport (over 50 this year). When I asked Matt about assisting I had hoped for any small item. He was very generous and I'm sure it will benefit several lucky new shooters. Matt really does support the little guys in the sport. Now I am thinking about trying to put together a class at our range with him. Anyone have any tips on what this entails? Thanks Matt.
  22. Did you mean to say "It oughta be just perfect when you get here". 'Cuz that would be closer to the truth. Hey by the way, I have been loading all my ammo for the Nats. Just to keep things interesting I am thinking about leaving the powder out of just one round and throw it in the mix. Kind of like Okie Roulette.
  23. Doug - Sucks you can't go. Do you need us to write some stern letters to your supervisors. WM - T Mainus and I are riding the motorcycles down. It's your state - make the weather nice. Also, anyplace you guys want to get together I'm in for. Remember last year though how all the people were going to show at the place in Hannibal. Instead there were 4 guys sitting at a table for 30. Troy - It sounds like squadding this year will be as good or better than last year. 2006 was nicely done.
  24. Walt & Bob - Congratulations on the upgrade. All the best talent is going to be in "A" this year. 41 - Congratulations on making it in. That was a close one. Look forward to meeting you. I will wear a revolver so you can recognize me.
  25. Derek, There is a mall in nearby Peoria, IL. It's not huge by any means but could fill up a couple of hours depending on what type of shoppers your 'girls' are like. And, what you think is a big mall. You should be able to search the internet for the peoria attractions. The actual match is just a few miles up the road in Chilicothe (Chili as it's known to many). The town is large enough to plenty for them to do for 8 hours. See you on Sunday.
