    CZ CO basepad

The 18round tube and a traditional +4/5 will NOT fit the 140mm magazine length gauge. Just a heads up to OP.

    CZ CO basepad

Depends which mags you’re using. 17round mecgar/nickel mags Henning is the lightest by a small margin but CZC and TTI also make great options. 18round CZ mags, CZC and TTI +2 plates make a perfect 140mm and save almost a half oz in weight 16round CZ mags, CZC makes a 140mm +4/5 extension that fits very flush with the bottom of the frame.
  3. Did the same to my CZ 16round mags and it works well! Makes the $20 for Grams guts for 1 round seem unnecessary
  4. At practice Wednesday afternoon, I was able to draw and clear the rack at 75feet (25 yards) at 4.96 and then 4.59 seconds back to back, 1 make up shot each. The second run the transitions felt worlds faster and it showed. just a lowly B-class shooter with a dot.

    CO optic

From my measurements, it’s close without bosses. The threads on the mounting screws are .010-.015” from the outside walls of the slide if my models are accurate

    CO optic

Correct. Assuming you want to use any of the locating pins.

I was using a 7.5moa DPP on a Shadow2 and am in the middle of cutting a slide for a 3moa Romeo3 on a Bull Shadow.
  8. I got the small riser from Holosun and really liked it. It made the alignment with my cheek weld better and I can track the dot better during fire. i haven’t put a numerical benefit to it but for the money it’s worth it for me.
  9. Check your trigger bar lifter springs and make sure they haven’t come out of the little grooves in the bottom of the trigger bar.

    Shadow 2 or A01 LD?

I guess, at least currently, the A01 is not USPSA production approved if your intent was to compete with it in that division. have you considered a Bull Shadow? Same great Bull Barrel dynamics with the opportunity to get it to Carry Optics specs. the thing that I DONT like about the A01 is the P-series magazines. If you’ve already got a bunch of CZ75 mags, you’d need to get additional mags that aren’t compatible.
  11. Do you really believe that some slide cuts will induce a premature failure? Do you have any objective basis for this?
  12. Like others have said, brand new there is a RCH amount of clearance to get the barrel to seat. Even an additional .100” longer barrel and it probably wouldn’t clear
  13. That seems like more creep than stock.... have you discussed your your dissatisfaction with said gunsmith?
  14. Are you 1000% sure the trigger bar spring is riding in the appropriate grooves and has proper tension on each side?
  15. Really happy with my 510c on my MPX. You can even take off the lens shroud for even less obstruction of the sight picture.
  16. I guess I’ll reiterate my point. I don’t think the rule is ambiguous at all. if you’re really concerned, getting an official ruling via email from NROI would do it
  17. Personally, I think the rule speaks for itself. ”Exchange of minor external components... MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket parts.” Period. Assuming it doesn’t add a restricted feature in the process (*thumb rest [generic]*, slide racker etc)
  18. Very different size weight and balance
  19. Polymer Guide rod is the easiest half oz to shave if you haven’t yet.
  20. I've been doing some thinking around the concept of reciprocating mass and center of gravity of that reciprocating mass. I am an engineer with machining experience so this sorta stuff is fascinating to me, but I don't have enough real world experience tinkering and testing with firearms to know if any of it really matters. My question is really 2-fold. 1) Knowing that [Force = Mass * Velocity^2], by reducing the mass of the slide by ~10% and making adjustments to the recoil spring to keep ejection distance appropriate, is there a tangible difference in recoil of a pistol with just slide lightening? 2) If said slight lightening also lowers the vertical center of gravity by ~10%, that should also reduce the force felt at the grip. Ultimately, what I am confirming is, taking as much weight out of the front and top of the slide as possible is theoretically the most effective at reducing felt recoil, but does the theory line up with real-life experience to those who have done it? Just for kicks, the 3D model for the slide I am playing around with is attached.
  21. It all comes down to your hand size and preferred grip IMO. i shot a Shadow2 for over a year in various configurations and thought it was nearly perfect until I picked up a Bull Shadow from CZC. the grip profile fits my hands better and the sights just return to their position effortlessly. It’s really easy to shoot it well. it does have drawbacks though. No grip checkering, standard magwell opening but I think the controls are more comfortable. it all comes down to your specific size shape and needs/wants from the pistol.
  22. That should be explicitly covered in the IDPA rules should it not?
  23. It’s become profoundly apparent that in order to build strength in one area, you must be equally as strong in the opposite motion. It’s very difficult to build strength in your biceps without equally challenging the triceps. Likewise, chest and back. There is strength in balance.
