  1. the round trigger guard unit in the picture above likely does not have the generous magwell opening....although it take a lot of the same parts. I have a P40-L, small frame .40. WOrks good,..only changed some springs,...put a better firing pin in it,..put aluminum grips on it, and a better front sight. Needs some polishing.
  2. you can do yourself a favor...and ditch that AMBI safety for a single sided safety...depending on your hand size,...the extended or Custom size safety. Makes dissasembly a bit easier.
  3. I ordered the brass grips for my xtreme s2...although i feel the xtreme grips might be a little too thin. I love the factory aluminum grips. ....might just stick with them
  4. the problem is generally, in my experience, a over zealous firing pin block,...I have taken guns apart to find the block and pin have made contact and basically a shiny peened spot is the evidence of this... for standard and open guns, I toss the block. for production guns, you need to test and polish to make sure it works, and does not malfunction.
  5. it think my Combat / P40L has the same trigger, instead of the stock2 with overtravel. If it is causing problems, minor detailing and deburring may be required.
  6. I have a small frame P40L,...same as the 9mm. The mag release for the 40 is different,...although looks like the .38 super mag release will work. I put a Henning or Eric or factory F.O. front sight on it, henning firing pin (small frame) ...oem aluminum grips, and 14lb hammer spring. Works good. I hate the mags that look like CZ mags at the bottom,...they get stuck, don't always seem to fit correctly. I think the mags for the polymer force in .40 are the culprits,.they kinda suck...IMHO....you can not put different base pads on them. You can not load long .40 in it as well....but I generally shoot remanufactured 40,..which is Sammi spec. I use the ghost race holster for my stock2, it works good, even with round trigger guard.
  7. I keep some winchester primer ammo and try a mag all Double action.....if that works you are good to go.
  8. perhaps a Shadow holster would work for the round trigger guard?
  9. LHS is making appendix and OWB pancake type holsters.....fyi.
  10. I have used the Ghost stinger and Ghost ultimate for a few years...work great. I am actually switching to the LHS brand Rapid draw , complete with mag pouches.
  11. the best part to polish is the underside of the sear housing, and the trigger bar and plunger.
  12. you want the one piece sear. Better SA trigger pull...better reset.
  13. slide glide lite,...it gets dirty I removed it and put new stuff on it. colder weather I mix with regular gun oil.
  14. I am mistaken. USPSA rules state you can not remove the firing pin block in production, but you can do anything you want to internal parts. If Hennings firing pin works with the block..which it does, than you are good to go. IPSC rules state only OEM parts that are available from the manufacturer. Hence Erics firing pin, is allowed in either USPSA or IPSC production division. Hennings firing pin that works with the block is legal in USPSA production division only. IMO the firing pin block is the culprit as it is a friction held in part...it uses the firing pin to stay in. The oEM firing pin is too short and heavy,...Hennings would be what I would use in USPSA,,,but my Eric pin works in my gun. ,but like I said, I dont make the rules.... I am using a 13lb hammer spring with my stock 2 using federal primers. I noticed I had a few light strikes in DA first shot using Winchester primers....., I put the 14 Ib hammer spring in my 40L...as I use the 40 frame with my .22 kit. WORKS AWESOME>
  15. Push down on the hammer. Might be too much uowards pressure.
  16. First he insults Bob Vogel. Now he calls Wisconsin "nowhere". Will this savagery ever end???? They have not yet been exposed to "That 70's Show"...they are still watching magnum pi.
  17. not an OEM part....unless EAA decides to stock them. I think it is BS,..but I am not on the rules committee.
  18. this would be legal for USPSA only....unfortunately. I would use one whenever I shoot in USPSA
  19. Nope...there are the Open and limited guns...those are larger frame.
  20. bottom of sear cage where the trigger bar runs under and down....top of plunger, and disconnector top and bottom.
  21. My buddy had a spare from his open gun. It is different than my st2, st3..limited gun...it will not work well with them as the ledge is not the same.
  22. I think the cz is my best bet...it has a grip plug to match up with that hole in the frame at the bottom.
  23. If u can not reach it...thinner grips might be needed.
