  1. Yep. More $ but cleaner and more consistent, less unburnt powder and less flash. Vv is the rolls Royce of powders. Yep. I found the 3n38 had 3 duplicates in one string of 10rds.
  2. I love my new Ernie Hill / guga range bag. Midsize...lots of pockets. ..even a place for your dirty salomons.
  3. I used the guga / Ernie hill holster and the ghost race holster with my stock2, limited custom and open gun.
  4. I have a ghost stinger and it fits my stock2 and limited custom...and fit my airsoft limited until i put a cmore on it.
  5. Fpb sometimes needs light polishing in relation to the firing pin.sometimes the firing pin needs to be polished to the channel.
  6. Sounds either like a slide release issue...or too much extractor spring. I had a similiar problem...trimmed my slide release at the bottom.
  7. Tried 9.8 today...1315 ish average with reducing oal to 1.260. Bumped to 10gr and that should be up in the 1360 ish. I think that should reduce dot movement to an almost flat line level.
  8. 9.8 was good for a consistent 1316 ish. Dot movement was decent...although more gas needed to flatten it out. Going to 10 gr
  9. I have had 2 sti edges...and no matter what i did to make it fit, my hands fit the tanfoglio pattern better. I love the sti look, and they worked excellent for me...but i was never comfortable with them. I run a Limited Custom 2 40, an Xtreme stock2 9mm..and a 38super V8 i built on an old 40 frame. Parts are not an issue. I have never broken a slide, frame...etc. only thing i ever broke was a rear sight on an old well used stock2, and the safety detent pin on a old safety. I have shot so nany rounds, i actually forget how many rounds. I am not a fan of the wood grips. The aluminum grips allow me to reach the mag releases without issue.
  10. 1230 ish with 9.2. Gonna bump to 9.8 ish
  11. 1.265 and 1.27 oal fed great..no issues. 9.2 gr was way too low. 1230 fps approx.shot some flat though...lol Gonna go with 9.8 ish..that should be good for 1340 ish
  12. 1.265 and 1.27 oal fed great..no issues. 9.2 gr was way too low. 1230 fps approx.shot some flat though...lol Gonna go with 9.8 ish..that should be good for 1340 ish
  13. did some more loads up with 9.2 to test. I will report back when I test
  14. I did not get a chance to chrony, but I did up some other rounds with 9.2grs to compare. I will report back
  15. I loaded 9.0grs....have not had a chance to make it out to the range. I know the V8 needs less powder than the gas guzzling V12...but going by some load data, 8.8 should be 1300fps,..I just assumed 9.0 would be up in the low 1340fps.
  16. I lube it all up with Brian Enos slide glide lite.
  17. I would get the polished sear cage for sure...saves you some work..plus get the Xtreme or Henning firing pin,..(make sure you get the proper unit, as some are large frame, some are small frame), the Xtreme firing pin springs, as well as the Xtreme hammer springs to try out. These are the biggest savings for getting a better trigger. You can polish the sear faces, and polish the interuptor too. If you are in USPSA, you can also replace the plunger spring, but be carefull not to go too light, as you may get a sloppy or slower reset. Polish the plunger head.
  18. i have an old 40 frame cut down and fitted to a V8 38 super upper. works good...frame is nearly identical, and just had to be tightened up to fit the slide.
  19. anyone have loads using 3 N 38 in an Eric V8 ? 38 super, 124gr heads. I am at roughly 1.265 OAL. I have some test loads, but have not made it to the range yet.
  20. the franklin arsenal unit works great for me...little bit of dillon polish and a couple hours is gtg.
  21. i think the polymer series of tanfoglio's need to be redone, or reworked. I would prefer a polymer bottom end with a trigger guard similiar to the stock1 or stock3 with shorter railed dust cover. I would get one for sure, with a red dot mounted to the back.
  22. good to know...I have some test loads with 9,0 grs at 1.265 oal. 124gr tmj...running out of a V8 Tanfoglio in 38super. Not thinking I will make it to major.
  23. i use berrys 147gr at 1.16 (i think...) and 3.06 gr of N310,..fedspp. Ideally, I am 880-885 fps....130 pf ish. I find the powder sticky,..I don't like the way it meters. Too flaky..I guess that might account for the odd low round.
  24. also...your hammer spring can also make a difference...16lb vs 13 lb. ie: your gun is going out of battery pushing against a hammer that is forward after the shot is fired. just fyi.
  25. Its all the red wine avec fromage pour dejeuner. Makes him feel invincible.
