Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks guys, I'll check out simply rugged. Keep me eyes open for a good deal on a sigh holster to try
  2. Does this even exist? I have a custom kydex holster, but find it uncomfortable. I also don't seem to have any custom leather guys within an hour of me. It's a newer full size match with rail. Went to local gun store and we tried every holster that might work, none did. Any one know where to find one, or a custom leather guy that has a match, and could make me a holster. Thanks in advance and Apologies if this is in wrong forum.
  3. I have been carrying my match 10mm some(did put on thinner grips that I like better than factory rubber ones), but its huge and uncomfortable. I can't decide between steel or polymer, compact or carry. Any one have any experience with any of these? Will be in 45 or 10mm I lean towards 10mm pretty heavilly though. I have never shot either of these models and my local gun stores dont stock them so I cant oogle them and decide. Worried about the shorter grip on the compact but the grip is the hardest part to keep concealed. ???? Any advice or experience is appreciated
  4. Thanks guys I think Ive got it figured now. The idea to pull out the sear cage is a great one!
  5. The safety lever has never switched positions on me on its own but it moves pretty easily. Is there a way to make it more positive? Im looking at a "garfield" shaped hole that the captive plunger toggles between. Could i just make one of "garfields"ears a little deeper? Im reluctant to do this(permanent frame mod) without running it buy guys who know these things better than I do Thanks in advance
  6. My match isn't nearly as positive as I would like for cocked and locked carry. It also has never came off on its own. I beleive there is a spring and detent ball under it. A stiffer spring might up the feel.
  7. I had the 40 thought also but it seems widely beleived to be unsafe, although I cant quite figure out how it is unsafe. I asked on another forum and it went 4 pages on how it would work but isn't safe.
  8. Trying to feel out all neccasary parts for a 10 to 40 swap. Does anyone know the average max oal that will fit into a 40 cal witness chamber and run reliably. How about the minimum OAL that will feed reliably through a k10 magazine? Getting a $185 barrel only hurts some, a $185 barrel and then $75 worth of magazines hurts more. Thanks for your patience in answering all my stupid questions.
  9. Got to wondering if 40 long might be the cheapest answer. Load a heavy bullet out as long as possible. In mine a 180 MG JHP hits the rifling at 1.280. guess it would out of 40 brass also????
  10. What about the mag's? can I run 40 thru my 10mm magazines? Would i have to load them long? Any one have any luck with this?
  11. I have one and it is amazing in almost everyway. However It is limited minor in uspsa. The SA makes it limited, the 9mm makes it minor. (I just try not to miss, but the scoring is agggrevating)
  12. I have a match in 9mm I have been using in limited division uspsa. I bought a 10mm LS on gbroker. With the cost of 10mm brass and availability I'm looking into a 40 option. I like the idea of getting a 6in barrel and adding an extension (compensator like style without the barrel ports) to extend the sight radius. I have 2 k10 mags, the price of mags would factor into this final cost number I need 3 total.
  13. I've been trying to get my hands on some of the new plastic grips to trim up my Match for awhile now. The other day I found a company that sells a composite grip for the Witness, https://coppergungrips.com/. They purchase page took me to gunbroker a little odd but I've bought enough to be comfortable with broker. So $34 dollars and 5 days later they're here. Mine took a little trimming to fit to my liking, they trim easy enough and come in a lava rock or grip tape texture, 10 colors. Any way heres the nuts and bolts of it I measured the width of my old rubber and new plastic ones at 4 spots. Now I like they feel of these shape wise and they are considerably thinner. Rubber Copper gun grips 1.397 1.201 1.383 1.248 1.385 1.288 1.387 1.318 Now none af these numbers can be exact and their is more to grip feel than width alone, But you can shape plastic much easier than rubber and they're priced to experiment. Anyway heres the pictures the blue lines are where i measured at with calipers. I am not a paid anything, Just thought someone else might have been searching for thin plastic grips also, This site has helped me numerous times just looking to try and give back a little
  14. Thanks Cha lee, I hate wasting my time worse than my money. Probly just saved me some of each.
  15. I did a quick search but didnt get the result I was looking for. I have an old red follower frt spacer mag in 9mm Ive been using as a barney mag, since it does that reliably! I ordered a 10mm conversion kit from gbroker, can i dremel out that spacer and easily enough modify the feed lips to use this junk 9mm mag for the 10mm. If it matters i also have a grams spring follower kit I ordered in error laying around hand. Any one ever try this is it worth it for the $30???? THANKS GUYS,
