  1. Hey, 7625 is what I use for open. If you want to get rid of it let me know,
  2. Chris, Try using about 4.5 ish grains of N320 for a minor load. That's if you can load as long for the revolver as you can for the open gun. That's what I run as a steel load in my open gun. I've also shot that in someones 38 super STI, man it's softer than a 9mm I think.
  3. That one has been catching most of my students all week long. It's actually a standardized test question for fifth grade.
  4. Your MPG is the same as my stretch cab, gasoline 6 cylinder Tacoma 4 WD. Wish I had the 4 cylinder. FM Yep, but I have a ton of extra leg room and have the option of towing 10K pounds plus.
  5. Here's my new 2006 Dodge turbo deisel I'll never own a gasser again. I get about 17 around town and 20 on the hwy. Thats not pulling anything. I can strap the 10K trailer to it and not hardly know it's there.
  6. I use the same load for both when I shoot ESP.
  7. Damn, you made me wake up the whole house with that one Merlin
  8. I might get to go also. My reward for being match director/club pres/ equipment manager/ etc. is that our club earned 1 slot to the limited nationals. Guess who gets it
  9. That must be nice. Around here they are all on Sat. 1st IDPA, 2nd USPSA, 3rd USPSA and now 4th USPSA
  10. Last year it just made it. The requirements say USPSA matches that have 175 shooters. Last year had exactly 175. I'll see if I can find out from Don. Thanks.
  11. Jack, Last year this match was an STI Contingency match. Don at STI just told me that it's not this year. Any idea why? Thanks.
  12. I had 5 at a local match and then 10 at the open, so I'm at 15 right now. I'm runnung my local match in the morning, so I know I'll flub it there. Oh well, completing a major with only 4 D's, no mikes, and no procedurals was an awesome feeling. It almost felt kind of boring. no highs or real lows in the match other than being slow.
  13. Eric, Don't you have a blade-tec DOH for that SV? Just take the DOH piece off and make it a belt slide.
  14. I still say go with the SV. I used to think a slide lock reload was the way to go, then I ran some drills both ways with a timer and now I avoid a slide lock reload.
  15. Eric, I feel your pain on the decision. I shoot an M&P now (a Glock before) that I tend to ride the slide release lever. So I never get a slide lock reload. I battled your same question for a while. I finaly decided to just go into the match knowing I would not go to slide lock. If you count right you can still drop the empty mag and rack the slide without losing much. I also practiced my reloads with retention and can do them pretty quick. There was a stage in the FL/GA border disorder that required a standing reload of some type, most shooters went to SL then reloaded. I did a reload with retention (or what ever they call it) and was second overall on the stage. So, my suggestion is to shoot the one you like best, and practice the reloads you will do the most of. I don't even practice a slide lock reload now, I look for places to do some other approved reload.
  16. Thanks guys, you crack me up. That was my first big match with the open blaster, I think I like it. That was a great match and I had a blast. I'm making a mental note to practice some 30 yard shots before next year though.
  17. Kent, Thanks for the overview of the stages, but the more important question is what's up with the open gun in your avatar?

She should have waited until he was inside first. Great add though.
  19. Aircooled, In case you haven't already guessed there is no 1 best SSP pistol. Everyone has the one they like best. That being said, pick one you like, that you shoot well, and goes bang every time and you will have your best SSP pistol.
  20. My new favorite is the S&W M&P in both 40 and 9mm. Get some new sights and polish up the trigger and you are set.
  21. Shakamak State Park is 35 minutes from the range. I have never camped there but I have camped in numerous other Indiana state parks (pop-up and tent) and they have all been excellent. The address is: Shakamak State Park 6265 W. St. Rd. 48 Jasonville, IN 47438 Here is the link for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reservation system: http://www.indiana.reserveworld.com/ For those of you not bold enough to camp, we are working on match hotel arrangements. There are many hotels within 10 minutes of the range and every national chain restaurant you can think of. Thanks for the info. Now to make the big plans.
  22. Eric, Do you have this up and going yet? I couldn't find your website earlier today to see.
  23. I liked the Bud Light wedding in a hurry to get to the beer.
  24. My favorites are the embroidered golf shirts. The area6 shirts from 2004 I think were nice. I like a heavier material so the collars do not start turning up after you wash them a few times.
  25. Kenny is a supporter of this site, so try him first. Tell him the offer Jester has on the M&P forum and he might be able to work with you. I'd rather spend a dollar more with someone that helps this site.
