  1. But we have 2 weekend warriors and have ordered over 28,000 bullets so far this year and shot 70% or more. Have 7500 coming in tomorrow. We just started practicing 3 afternoons per week live fire. Not but a couple of hours at a time though. Unfortunately that 4 letter word that starts with w@#$ gets in the way lol
  2. Sig Sauer uses the Koenig in their Sig Max it that is of any help. I own one and have absolutely loved it!
  3. Those are very helpful numbers. I would say it looks like it is a great savings...use less powder and spend even far less on the powder. Win win!
  4. He was both. He is a c class shooter. He shot a classifier match to get classed and then broke his right(strong) hand, was in a cast up until 9 days before the Arkansas Sectional and did not start shooting single stack until February of this year. He won high junior by over 300 points in single stack and was also 4th in c class. I am a little partial but the fact that he done that after 6 weeks in a cast not shooting that close to the match is probably something not many could accomplish at 12. Thanks very much for the compliments. If he stays healthy he will shoot the Missouri fall classic last weekend in September.
  5. We do the same at CRSSA(Crossroads Shooting Sports Association) We have holes in each end of the flat for spikes on windy days.
  6. Awesome ! Will be getting lots of it. Thanks my son is starting his 2nd year of shooting and has won production and single stack state sectionals and placed 4th in single stack C class at the Arkansas Sectional this year so I want to find cheaper ways of loading so he can practice more. He is 12 and shows some potential .
  7. You are shooting fine, just keep having fun.
  8. Make sure you are also cleaning those magazines! They are just as important. I use Lucas gun grease on the barrel and hood. I use Lucas extreme green oil for the slide channels and barrel link. I clean gun after each match or day of shooting. Sometimes I clean up the magazines between stages. They make lots of ground contact shooting single stack and a little grain of sand can kill function.
  9. Where are you getting this powder? Does it come in bigger jugs?
  10. What about the other powders?
  11. I shot a Springfield xd tactical for my first 2 years. I put a solid stainless guide rod, powder river precision trigger kit, titanium striker safety, and modified mags to hold 18 rnds. I had already owned the gun before getting introduced into the shooting sport and it was fun. I made it to B class with it. I now own a 2011, but shot the 45 last match just to reminisce. It was a tough platform to "learn" with, but you learned how to drive the gun and also how to absorb recoil. Good times for sure!
  12. Solid advice. You will always be happier saving to get what you really want. And hour scores will reflect that.
  13. BBI, Eggleston munnitions or Blue Bullets for coated and extreme or everglades for copper plated
  14. Then what ? Glocks should be banned from limited division and m&ps...? That's getting a little out of hand. Just drill and pin as I lined out earlier or use a rubber band or tape like some of the others have suggested.
  15. That's right. Maybe I could even say they ran a buy one get one sale! Lol that's what the salon tends to do, or so I am told.
  16. That is very true! Just buy smart and you can't lose. If you have to sell for a couple hundred less than you pay then it will still have been cheap fun. I was lucky with the fact that the people in our club are very willing to let you shoot a match with their gear, guns, and ammo and they had a wide variety. I couldn't afford a full custom so I ended up with a Dawson Precision edge with their upgrades for 2295.
  17. The Springfield arm competition model is a good shooter. Shot one for 2 years before going to an edge. My son shoots one now in production and limited also. Easy to work on and a stiffer frame than the glock
  18. Awesome information! And congrats on the land too!
  19. I have been using BBI, but have been drooling over the bullet subscription that Blue Bullets offer. Always thought it would be cool for bullets to show up automatically . What a way to brighten the day!
  20. I have been finding out about all kinds of new powders today. IMR has released their new unequal, and target powders as well as IMR blue, red, and green. I also noticed that powder valley is carrying Shooters World powders. Any info on any of them would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Has anyone tried the new IMR Unequal or target powers? What about the powders by Shooters World? I am interested in how they perform and felt recoil. I load 40 major and am always on the look for a more efficient way to spend. My 12 year old also shooting 40 and we go through lots of powder. Don't have a money tree to by vivi-cost-a-lot lol.
  22. The Springfield Armory 5.25 9mm competition is awesome! With parts from dawson mags will hold 23 rounds and the adjustable rear sight can be swapped for a bracket and red dot.
  23. Springfield Armory 5.25 competition model. Mag capacity is 19rnds and with parts from dawson can be extended to 23 rnds. Rear adjustable sight can be removed and there is a bracket to install in its place that will enable you to install a red dot if you decided to shoot carry optics. One gun, shoot production, carry optics, or even limited minor. Great buy for under 900 bucks
  24. I use the Redding cx carbide push through die. It works better than the bulge buster. I use lee carbide dies in my press and yes some sti barrels and kkm barrels don't like 401 or 402 bullets. You can either throat ream or just buy bullets that are 400. Just get your crimp right and load to a length that your gun will feed reliably. FP will obviously load to different lengths as swc and so forth coated bullets, copper jackets, lead casts will all likely be different shapes. Buy the sample packs most companies offer and experiment. Good shooting
