  1. Welcome and what a change from NY to WY! Thank you for your willingness to serve in our great country's millitary! May God bless!
  2. Welcome to the addiction! Congrats on the first match.
  3. We also run around 30 guns in that time frame. We also have figured out how to even out the amount of long stages and short stages, along with stages that have movers in them. This aids in making sure there is no bottlenecking between squads, and gives a constant flow throughout the match. Simply said that if everyone works, then there are no problems.
  4. We had 24 total guns and only 17 different shooters last week. We broke down into 3 squads and divided the multigun shooters evenly. I was one who shot open and limited. Having the bigger mag capacity, I just reloaded mags between stages. I RO'd every shooter other than me in my squad and recorded the scores. Yes I did get tired (heat index was 109 with 91% humidity) but I consider that conditioning for the bigger matches as I won't be doing anything other than taping or resetting targets . Occasionally we get a lazy shooter whether they shoot one gun or two. It is the entire squads responsibility to divi up the chores and see that everyone participates. That way multiple people drive the lazy into participation. Occasionally we discuss participation responsibility at the pre match meeting if needed. I believe MSSA makes anyone shooting multiple guns shoot one gun through the entire match and then shoot the match again separately. But that makes for a very long day.
  5. You see your sights where on the target? Just seeing brown is not enough. You need to know precisely as possible where on the target they are when the shot breaks. Then you can figure out if you are pulling toward the next target too early or are pulling down with the trigger etc. See that sight come back down into the A zone before letting loose that 2nd round. Remember that speed can kill if it is not under control.
  6. Cool, can't wait to see your results. Thanks ahead for sharing.
  7. It works fine at CRSSA! We have shooters that shoot multiple pistol divisions as well. As long as they help reset, tape, or pick up brass in between it is all good! Some of the finest people on the planet!
  8. Taking it no one has bought one of these yet? Travis Tomasie had posted a picture on his Facebook back in December I think of him shooting 30,000 rounds through one before lunch! What a job! And yes the comma is in the right place it does say thirty thousand.
  9. Cool! Thanks, I learn something new everyday. Maybe one day I will be able to remember it all. I read the thread and will be sure to pass that info along. I had a friend that was having so much trouble reloading 9mm because of bulge brass that he sold his 9mm guns, dies, brass, out of frustration a few years ago. I have great results using the lee die set. Thanks Sarge
  10. So it works like a bulge buster? I have taken my lee crimp die for .45 acp apart before and used it in a single stage for the same reason. I will search the 9mm maker of on here. Thanks
  11. The 9mm is a tapered case for which there is no " push through" die. A lot of once fired brass will come from ranges that have law enforcement participation and will most likely be shot out of glock factory chambers which are not fully supported chambers hence the term " glock fired brass". That brass almost always has a buldge. A lee factory carbide " u " die has given me 98% reliability out of that brass. We pick up at a local LE range every year when they get done with qualifications and have had very few fail to barrel check using the lee dies. Hope this helps.
  12. Yes. Brownells sells slide track and trigger track stones for 1911 or 2011 guns. I like to round over the bottom of the extractor a tad, make sure the trigger shoe slides freely, round the corners of the block retaining the firing pin for easier reinstall, etc. You can also use flitz in the tracks and sit there working the gun. It will take longer though. Do this on 1911 or 2011. Not much to polish on the Tupperware guns other than firing group.
  13. Try rubbing them down with 800 grit sand paper. You can rub inside the mag well also. The spray with mag slick or Otis dry lube.
  14. The Springfield Armory competition model 5.25 can be used. Dawson makes basepads and with grams spring and followers you get 23 round capacity. Remove the rear adjustable sight and install an optic. I am using the burris.
  15. Has anyone shot the R1 Limited gun Remington released? Just curious how it feels and if it would be worth getting for my son as an entry level limited gun. Thanks in advance!
  16. Cold turkey is a true reflection of your current skill level as BE has pointed out. Hopefully we all get more consistent, faster, and so forth as the practice session carries on, but a more true measurement of improvement is where your "start point" times/hits are. Definitely a reason to keep a log book!
  17. This. And Robert Vogel has a good drill on you tube as well.
  18. I have a cornea disease that I have had a couple of surgeries for and am blind in my left eye. I had an opportunity to have a special lens made for my right eye that makes me be able to see the sights clearly and the targets are a blur, because of the disease k couldn't be considered for lasik, but know several who love it. I wish you well and will tell you that if you are determined to succeed then you will. I shoot limited still and am having a hard time getting out of B class, but I am not going to give up yet. By the way, it is a hard lens and takes a lot of getting used to.
  19. They do set the pricing. They also will no longer give dealership licenses to anyone who does not have a brick store front and buy in is a minimum order of 5 grand.
