  1. Glad you guys have had better luck. I have zev ultimate kits in my glock 17, 21, 34 and 35. All were polished once again for good measure. My lyman trigger gauge says the 17 is the lightest at 4.1#.
  2. 2.1#.....How did you do that? My zev ultimates were never better than 4.5lbs and I re-polished it all myself.
  3. Thats awesome! Absolutely dying to get my Titan next week. My alpha x is just waiting.
  4. I’ve tried a bunch of connectors, polished everything and installed $230 zev Tech ultimate kits. At the end of the day, that system is generally going to be a zero sum game between trigger weight and “crispness”. Maybe Johnny Glock can build you a 2.5# trigger but you start to defeat internal safeties and your cost in the gun is the same as a used Edge. I am a glock fan and own lots of them but gave up on them for limited because the 2011 platform is superior in every way except cost IMO (higher frame weight, lower slide weight, trigger pulls back rather than on fulcrum, etc).
  5. I just copy my matches into excel from the practiscore website....each stage into separate excel tabs. Press “control” and “A” simultaneously and it’ll select everything. contol + c copies everything control + v pastes everything I do some formatting clean up but it works. Lately some of the ad images get transferred but you can delete them. This scoring spreadsheet I built may also be of value. Best used on desktop machine.... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-atfeg2NSYBVpmVksfK82o0R3CXlIIJgNlDtmXt8nK4/edit#gid=0
  6. I probably already missed the last slot. Didn’t have enough time to run it by the wife, who worked today, so maybe I’ll take your advice and do the monthly match. Thx!
  7. Thanks, Glk! Prizes given on day 1 or end? Think Day 1.
  8. Practiscore registration opens up today. I tried to find a thread on Area 8 logistics from prior years but was unable to find much. I’ve never shot a level three match before so I’m trying to answer some questions and solicit answers to things I don’t know enough about to ask! I tried to join the area 8 Facebook page a few times but am “pending”. Can you answer one or two below? -Does it fill up quickly on practiscore? -If I got in could I pick the day to start? -Can you shoot in one day or is it a multi-day commitment? -Places to stay and eat nearby any good? -General vibe of that match? -Did you enjoy it? -Would it be insane to do this as first level III match? If so what’s better near DC? Thanks in advance!
  9. Just downloaded it and tried it. Thx for heads up! One question...that timer run a little fast or something? I’m at least a tenth slower vs the other app I was using. Doesnt really matter...I like the abily to run multi shot stings.
  10. Now that’s a pragmatic approach! I like it.
  11. Kind of curious under what circumstances a competition shirt / jersey is okay...I must admit that I’m looking at one for a few reasons. 1- they actually fit snug and tuck in. My under armor shirts always pop out. 2- it’s helpful to have your name on your shirt for squadding and getting to know other guys 3-for a sport that we spend so much time on (most dryfire and or reload hours a week), why not have an actual uniform. 4- pure fun of it. I’ve seen skulls, knights and even a unicorn with a rainbow coming out of the rear (RHT...) A) sponsored or proven level III kind of shooter B ) paper GM C) paper M D) paper A E) whatever floats your boat F) never, they are goofy
  12. Bump...anyone else care to offer ideas?
  13. I have a pretty big L- shaped basement that makes a good dojo. Can get up to a 10 yard shot in there but need to improve array variety. Typically put three targets along a big TV stand and then use blue tape to scatter scaled down 1/3rd targets to create the option for longer shots and various arrays. Anyone have good ideas for cheap / adjustable full sized target holders? My kids plastic music sheet holder is great but I only have one. Was thinking of making some out of wood with dowels and clips or something. Ideas and pictures are appreciated!
  14. So my lead test came back and I was pretty shocked. Zero....zilch....nada. No lead detected. I shoot indoors 2-4x a month, so I was expecting to at least register a minimal level ...5-10 was my guess. I am very cautious otherwise by: -Washing hands up to elbow after shooting. Face too. -Not eating around or after shooting -Keeping my “shooting footwear” out of house in garage -Immediately tossing clothes in washer and taking shower after range trip -Range bag comes in house and isn’t put down until at storage location -Cleaning with gloves on -Washing hands every time I handle guns, ammo or components ...but moral of the story is that modern ranges with good circulation are probably safe. YMMV.
  15. Hard to pick one! Listening to the Anderson podcasts has been packed full of great advice for me. -Shoot at the speed of your vision, not “fast or slow”. -Shooting sooner IS shooting fatster. (Basically being ready to go upon arrival of shooting position)
  16. More videos, please! I just sent an order to the Atlas Gunworks elves to build me a Christmas present!
  17. I made a spreadsheet that may be helpful learning / tracking USPSA scores. It is dynamic so load in PF and info from practiscore (or hypothetical stage) and it calculates everything. I built it in excel but here it is in google spreadsheets for ease of sharing. This works best on a desktop rather than cell phone. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-atfeg2NSYBVpmVksfK82o0R3CXlIIJgNlDtmXt8nK4/edit#gid=0 Hope this is useful for somebody out there!
  18. Make sure you let wife know. You can’t just sneak a reloading operation into the safe like a new pistol or lower....! Start reading manuals and browsing components so that your (relatively) ready when the blue machine shows up. They ship fast!
  19. Don’t think he needs IDPA matches to prove himself or become proficient.
  20. Roger that. In garage now thinking about how to orient the bench. It’s 500 sf and we don’t park cars in it so the options are limitless. I may even build an enclosure around it for Opsec, protection from kids and that I could toss a golden rod into (sans powder) to keep the moisture away when I’m not using it. I’m probably over thinking this.
