  1. Actually, I did. Ran fine at the range and during the first half of the Area match, after which it just kept doubling more. Not willing to put that many rounds through it to see when it would break.
  2. I’ve abandoned the Scheel buffer after it repeatedly doubled in an Area match. Badly. Switched back to the JP SCS and had smooth well-buffered results. Gun is as fast and accurate as I need., and the dot doesn’t move that much.
  3. I tried a mix of bullet weights and powder burn rates to see what my one PCC liked. Turned out it liked light bullets with slow powder; anything else had terrible accuracy. *In my gun.* Not suggesting any kind of universal truth here. Also, one PCC will run hollow points and the other just won't. Something else you might want to try. Best to try different loads and see what works.
  4. I've tried both regular and short stroked SCS buffers and prefer the regular one. A short stroked buffer set up with light buffer weights will transmit more of a shock to the lower, which can affect whether the mag release holds the magazine. At least it did in mine. I'm now using a standard length SCS with four tungsten weights, and have had no problems. Might be worth experimenting with that...
  5. Just a single data point... I have a GMR 13 that I've run for a few years using 10 rounds mags, 17 round mags plus extenders, and 33 rounds mags with and without extenders. The only time I had issues with the gun was when I put in a Scheel buffer. Worked at first, but then began to double, or worse. At one match it kept dropping a 33+6 magazine. I then removed that buffer and put in a JP SCS, and tuned it for my gun. Problems went away. Not trying to crap on the Scheel buffer. Maybe I didn't set it up correctly, or maybe it just doesn't work with my particular gun. Don't know, but just wasn't interested enough to find out. Just saying that *maybe* you might want to experiment with tuning your buffer (I'm assuming you're running the JP SCS here) to get consistent recoil buffering. A bad setup can cause magazine issues. I wound up using 4 tungsten weights with my gun and ammo. Works great for me. YMMV.
  6. I have several of their hand guards, and they’re great. No complaints at all.
  7. What I did for an STI DVC Classic 1911: - get a Hogue 1911 rubber grip - put a thin layer of epoxy on the grip - sprinkle a layer of silicon carbide grip over the epoxy - let it set - put the Hogue grip on the gun and see if it's wide enough - repeat as necessary until you have the feel you want Gets a wider grip with excelent, well, grip.
  8. Mine feels about right with a 1/2” riser, about the same as a 510 with the Holosun spacer.
  9. Is it much better than a GMR15 with a Scheel buffer?
  10. Take a look at the hs512. Closed system, and wider window.
  11. I have an ULW barrel and an old 14.5” carbon fiber wrapped barrel plus comp. I tried the ULW at 10 yards, and had good luck with it. Felt better than the other, and was plenty accurate. Then I tried to zero it at 25 yards, and ran into trouble. It didn’t really like the 115 gr. rounds all that much, and while it preferred the slower 147 gr. one better, it still had about a 4 to 5 inch group size. Switched back to the 14.5” barrel. Much more accurate at that distance.
  12. 1 light, 1 strong - I forget which order (slots 1 and 2). Probably best to try both in your setup anyway. ETA: 1(weak), 2(strong) As always, YMMV.
  13. FWIW, I had better luck with less spring strength in the buffer. Heavier spring pressure there made the recoil worse. Finally settled on 1 light and 1 strong spring.
  14. My GMR-13 with a Scheel buffer and Taccom ULW barrel runs with fairly light recoil. Tested it against the new Taccom air buffer and preferred the Scheel. Have you tried experimenting with different springs in the buffer?
  15. I have a PCC with an AR-15 lower and Taccom bolt (weight removed), Taccom ULW barrel, Hiperfire PDI trigger, and Scheel buffer. Run fines.
  16. My experience was mixed. One time the rain created about 15 dots - pick the one you like most. The last time it worked fine, although I had to wipe it occasionally. Short of a deluge the 510 should get you through.
  17. I’ve started to switch to the HS512c for rainy days. Somewhat smaller window, but fully enclosed.
  18. I like the Holosun HS510c, with the circle dot reticle. For fast shots I use the circle rather than the dot.
  19. I have a GMR13, and the barrel consistently produces lower velocities than other barrels (Taccom , etc.). AFAIK the barrel is noticeably tighter than the others.
