Could I accomplish the same thing by just putting a "shock buffer" on the rear cushion, under the head and, obviously, inside the buffer itself? Sort of like a 1911 or Glock shock buffer fitted to the end of the guide rod...
FWIW, I actually like using the 2 stage setup, as I can tune it to the load I'm using to get just the right amount of resistance.
