  1. have you ever chaged the recoil spring? A couple thousand rounds and they need to be replaced. I couldn't tell by your thread whether or not there was about 1000 rounds through the gun or only through the magazines. Good luck
  2. Billy, I personally feel if you just keep the gun clean every couple hundred of rounds you will never have an issue. See you in Sept at the LIC..
  3. your best bet is to do a search on the subject here on BE.com. It has been discussed MANY times. Good luck
  4. got 'em on the G20. sighted them in once, never have had to touch again
  5. do a search on E-bay, you can pick up enough skate board tape to last the rest of your life for pretty cheap.
  6. I've been thinking about the SS magwell from Novak to try it out, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
  7. Below is a condensed version of the text from the ad of when I purchased it. It's the easiest way for me to list what it has: Started out as a 10mm Glock 20C, replaced barrel with kkm .40S&W non-ported barrel so you can long load .40 to 10mm length Long 40 is much softer to shoot than short 40, feels like shooting it out of an STI 5 inch gun. I've shot my buddies Brazos Limited gun and he this one and this is true. The sights are Dawson Precision adjustable with a .090 front sight blade with fiber optic up front and target serration in the rear. The gun has a 1.25lb trigger with over travel and pre travel set screws...ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS WORK. Trigger was done by Charlie Vanek. Has a Seattle Slug brass weight in grip to reduce felt recoil. 13lb recoil spring. Hi-cap Glock mags with Grams base pad, springs and followers that holds a total of 20+1. Alluminator speed holster. Gun shoots great and accurate. Because of light trigger it needs federal primers for 100% ignition. Win & CCI are about 97%. I had my gunsmith knock out the port seperator in the top of the slide to make it look like the open slide of a G34 or G35. The load that I have worked out to is .40 180 grain TC lead, 1.200 OAL, about .02 crimp, 4.6 grains of vv n320. Makes about 166-167 PF when I chrono it. At major matches it comes in around 169-171 PF.
  8. I think I have in the past but sure, nothing to hide.
  9. send me your e-mail address via a PM and I will gladly share what I have done with mine.
  10. you might want to try http://www.ghostholster.com/index.html and hopefully Angus can help you out?
  11. The person I had bought it from was loading 9x21, 7.9 grains of W540 with a 135 grain truncated cone jacketed bullet, Winchester Small Rifle Primer, 1.160" OAL, 175pf. He had sent me some of those bullets and they fed fine in the 19 round mags he sent me with the gun. The load I settled on was 9x21, 6.7 grains n350, 125 lead rn, same primers, 1.152, 166pf. The brass I have in now 2-3 times fired Winchester and Starline 9x21. All appears to be in good shape. I have a couple thousand brand new Starline brass too, was just waiting to use it until I got the load where I wanted it. What do you think? and thanks for the replies so far. Will any of Grams springs and followers work in the small frame mags?
  12. I found that the factory CZ75 25 round 9mm mags work/fit in this used Witness open gun I purchased a few months ago. The first time I used the mags however I found that when the mag is filled with 25 rounds, after about 10 shots the next round will jamb. The bullet acts as though it is feeding too high? as it is sitting at about the 1-2 o'clock position at the feed ramp of the barrel. Once I drop the mag, release that round, and insert the mag back in, the rest of them feed fine. Your thoughts? thanks
  13. also contact Steve Moneypenny, I think he's getting into selling EAA pistols.

    18 w/Grams, reloadable.
  15. I've got the cheapest bullet tray of them all. A small tupperware like container on the left side of the press that is at the perfect height since I don't use the strongmount setup. thanks to all who have and have tried to help me out, it's been great
  16. At a major match last fall I had a funny thing happen. I had just finished shooting a stage, unloaded and showed clear. The RO tells me to stop and give him my gun. I'm thinking to myself "What the F? I didn't do anything wrong here, what am I getting DQ'd about?" He then asked if I minded if he tried the trigger on my G20 (Vanek). I said "phew, thought your were DQ'ing me." He said, "no, I saw the Vanek logo on your shirt and I've been thinking about getting a Vanek trigger for my Glock so I was hoping you would let me try it" Wierd and silly story but true. and yes, he was quite impressed with Charlie's work
  17. thank you very much but someone else had already hooked me up with one a few weeks ago.
  18. from what I have tested in my .40 major loads with vv320, yes, but I am sure you will get all kinds of answers
  19. try www.handgunneroutlet.com or something like that. Tom Novak in PA would be who Novak is good luck
  20. GE pads and guts on my G20 mags always allows for 20+1. Can't speak to the 4th (newest) generation Glock mags though
  21. I purchased a used 550b but the Ejected Cartridge Chute Bracket (#13803) didn't come with it. Anyone have an extra bracket that they want to get rid of? Maybe you got the strong mount so you no longer have a need for it? I do happen to have the the same bracket that gets used for the strong mount application but it is of no use to me as I don't need the strong mount, the press is mounted high enough for me. Thanks for reading.

Tom revised the large frame magwells after I gave him a mag with a GE basepad on it. That was in Sept.
  23. thanks all. I have a container store I can visit.
  24. besides calling Dillon where can I buy the case bins? especially ones of various sizes? I did a search first here on forums and came up empty thanks
  25. I was trying to grasp what happened and I think I just figured it out. the actual .40 bullet did leave the barrel and hit the steel (ting) but the actual brass case stayed in the barrel, and that case is what the next round, a .45, hit when the next shot was fired.
