Hi all, I would like to replace the original rear sight on my STI LAWMAN (it's a TAS, tactical adjustable rear) with something like a classic BOMAR adjustable: please, can anybody suggest a brand/model that fits with the slide's dovetail ? Best thing it would be a complete set (front + adjustable rear) with a fiber optic front. Thanks

I am going to get a Ruger 22.45 for Steel Challenge matches and I wonder what's the best optic I can add on it. The "classic" C-more seems to me too much "big" for a gun like the 22.45 and also too much high on the barrel ... At the moment the Leupold Delta Point looks to me one of the best, but every input / suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Stefano

Hi Guys, please, I would like to have a clarification about SCSA provisional Rulebook. (I've already asked to the SCSA headquarter, but no answer arrived at the moment ...). My question is about Iron Sight Revolver Division: - SCSA provisional Rulebook says: " ...7 & 8 shot revolvers are permitted and may load to full capacity ..." - USPSA Handgun Rulebook says: " ... there isn't a max.capacity limit, BUT it's possible to fire a max.of 6 rounds before reload ..." So, my understanding is that - during a Steel Challenge Match - competitors are allowed to load at full capacity their 7/8 shot REVO, but they are anyway obliged to make a reload after the 6th round fired; correct ? Guys, at last my interest about the "PD-bug" in SC Rulebook caused something ... I've asked about this issue to Kimberley Williams (SCSA Operation Manager), and here's her kind response: Hi Stefano, Production is an allowed division in the SCSA. We are currently working on a final copy of the rulebook and it will be available soon. It will outline all the details regarding Production division. (in the meantime) you can pretty much just use the USPSA Production list as a guide as it will be the same for SCSA. Hope that helps! : ) Thanks! Yes, "provisional" is the first thing I've noticed ... (Provisional Rules, Rev. Feb. 17, 2009). Thanks for your confirmation: me too I've thinked something similar when - days ago - I've asked the same thing with an e-mail to SCSA (with no reply at the moment ...). My interest rises to the fact that here, in Italy, we would like to start running a SC championship (under the official SCSA rules) but we have to consider the "pruduction-guns" issue, due to the fact that we have a bunch of shooters with PD guns. In my mind, te only answer to this "bug" in the SCSA rulebook is that - probably - in the USA the typical SC shooter is NOT running the match with a production gun (apart from Glock Jockers ...). Guys, any more input on this argument will be welcomed: as sayied, we would like to start playing this interesting game ...

Sorry, this probably will sound to many of you as a stupid question but I am just curious to know an answer ... I've done a translation of the SCSA Rulebook, but I haven't found nothing in it referring to Production guns: (under the "main event" I notice only these categories: OPEN REVOLVER, IRON SIGHT REVOLVER, USPSA LIMITED, plus 3 IDPA categories, but nothing about PD guns). Please, can anybody explain to me - if recognized - what are the SCSA prescriptions for this category ? Thanks in advance Stefano

Rick, your idea is great ! In my opinion it would be useful for you to contact Mike Seeklander at USSA: Mike uses a tool called "skilltest" to gauge the ability and skill-level of a shooter, comparing the results (points & times) of a particular shooter with a database he has implemented with the infos coming from shooter of different classee and divisions, from the rookie d-class shooter, to the Top-GM experienced shooter. The skilltest is based on a list of very simple and "easy-to-do" exercises (not standards): this is just to work on a objective-basis in collecting data ...

For sure, sharing (and evaluating) different ideas among team-mates is a good opportunity. But I was referring to the possible strategy-games among different Teams (from different Countries) during an international match.

It's easy to understand how IPSC shooting is an individual Sport, but sometimes (expecially at level IV & V matches) we have to deal with the concept of "team-strategy": the Top Guys (and Galls) from every Region are grouped in Teams, and they have to compete against each-other not only for the individual title, but also as aTeam. My personal opinion about "Team-strategy" is quite simple: each member of the team shoot the match at his (or her) best, like always happens in an INDIVIDUAL competition; only later, in the second-half of the match, it's possible to approach ALSO a sort of "Team-strategy", even if it's quite simple to imagine: - if your team has an advange agains the others, it's wise to preserve it and shoot the rest of the match safely; - if your team is a little bit behind the first-one, you can TRY to push a little-bit, just to catch the Guys that are in front of you; - if your team it's far behind .... miracles sometimes happens, but most likely in a situation like this there's nothing to do .... Apart from this, I dont' think that REALLY exist a different way of playing the game: sometimes I've heard about some much-more complicated scenarios, where the particular strategy of 1 or 2 Teams is able to help (or just the opposite) another one, but I don't believe it's really so simple (and possible) to do this "on demand" ... What do you think guys ?
