  1. Is anyone camping at Lake Kissimmee State Park for the match? I need a ride from the range to the park Saturday afternoon, after shooting in the morning. My lady friend wants to take my truck and won't be back until late. Any ideas? Thanks.
  2. I dont see anything in ups documentation requiring overnight. I just shipped a gun Monday via fedex to a factory, no overnight was needed. Seems like a long time ago some carriers were requiring an overnight due to their own internal theft problems.
  3. I'm betting there are a few more threads just like this one... My 10 year old pistol is showing its age, so I drop SVI an email at, get this, Sunday at 10am. I figure someone will get to it tomorrow. 2 hours later I have the answers from Brandon, and the RMA and pistol are packed to go. It's Sunday, Brandon! Love the service, but you can take the day.... Thx

    iOS 8

Bejeweled no longer works under 8. This is some really serious stuff here.
  5. I see that the stages are up at rgpsc.com. Looks like a revival of some previous HDC stages from Master Bridges.
  6. I've been using Titegroup, about 5.1, with 165 grain montana gold 40 for years. Works fine. Less $$$ and it doesn't spill out of the case much as it is denser (as I understand, anyway).
  7. Great match, thanks guys! Great squad. More than a nice change up, I got soaked by that shower. But it blew through quickly and cooled things off. Thanks again, UF.
  8. I live in Gainesville, and very much would welcome a new club/match. Please note the word "new", and get behind the effort. Thx
  9. Airboats are a plague to anyone who enjoys some quiet time with wildlife on the water. They tend to shatter the world.
  10. More entertainment: I RO'd a shooter the other day who was very new. Very poor shooter, doing just about everything wrong, but breaking no rules. The type that knows everything, and wants no advice at all. Nevertheless, shooter had the flip thing down. Perfect. Maybe that's the first thing to be learned?
  11. In that case I wonder if you have details on Stages_P.txt and Stages_Extra_P.txt files formats? I'd like to fix files generated by PractiScore... It's odd that stages export file from EzWS app is not the same as a stage import file. Sorry, no I can't provide that info. I have a non-disclosure agreement with USPSA, and will not push the limits of that agreement. However, this really is no brainer stuff if you have access to Ezwin code. StageScore and other Palm systems make no use of stage files exported from Ezwin, so I can't address the "oddity". Thx.
  12. I should clarify this. I wrote StageScore for Palm, as well as some of the interface to Ezwin. The fact that it is a classifier is past to Ezwin. It also validates the classifier was setup correctly on the Palm. Try setting up a classifier incorrectly and import it and you'll see what I mean. I don't know what PS does. Thx.
  13. I had to buy some factory ammo for a match. My loads were already moved south, so I just figured I would shoot a fun match with hot loads. Went to the local store, found some that looked like they may work. Asked the knowing salesman "what velocity are these". "Oh, not too fast, not too slow, you'll like them." An idiot for sure , but I would have respected him a little more if he just said "I don't know". Turns out they were about a 177 pf. Fun match.
  14. I've smashed quite a few sunglasses getting them off my face!
  15. Way kewl. Getting out of the late sping winds is a great idea. Only a week after the NRA's NPSC and TPC, and a week before the Balloon Fiesta. This a great time of year in the Great Southwest!
  16. Not to rub it in or anything, but when Carolyn scored our matches (yes, she worked during the match) she had a rule that the scores would not be posted until the props were put away. She was that good. With Palm scoring, it is much the same. Often we have to wait to post the scores. If we post before stuff is put away, some shooters don't work, just see the scores and leave. Holding the scores seems to be an incentive to complete the job. So, call it 10 minutes after stuff is put away. Yes, we have the computer on line at the match. Some clubs do not have that luxury.
  17. There are no scoresheets to transcribe into EzWin. I suspect you have no clue about the process. Your thingie about 2 A's 2 A's AC AC 2'As" "oh wait a minute that last target before was 2 A's,,,,," 2 A's Ac, scoreer,,, hold on wait gotta back up now what ? hod on wrong screen,,,, is just plain nonsense. You have obviously never used the software. I've seen 7 year olds comprehend it far better than your limited imagination. The fact that many matches have been run without any slow down, and with improved accuracy, and with less manpower speaks for itself. You simply have not tried the 21st century.
  18. Short Sighted. Any on-stage device actually contributes to scoring accuracy. You must enter the time; it can't be beyond acceptable limits without a warning. You must enter the correct number of hits per target. The error checking performed on the stage results in correct scores, and far, far less reshoots due to incorrect scoresheets. It puts the reponsibility of accurately recording scores directly where it should be: on the RO and the scorekeeper. It does not slow down anything on the stage; that is well proven. What it does is eliminate manual data entry of a scoresheet per stage, per shooter. The possibility of mistakes there is overwhelming. The workload of entering paper scoresheets into EzWin is astromomical. Check the matches using electronic input. Finals up 10 minutes after last shot fired. Who wants to sit around for Hours? What neither paper not PDA can overcome is an incorrect time being recorded, or 2 A's as opposed to 2 C's being recorded. Nevertheless, to make an assumption that paper is somehow better than electronic scoring is, well, short sighted.

    Lowes

A few months ago I broke a toilet lid. Making a 10 cent fix, I dropped the lid. The idiot plumber I contacted could not determine the correct replacement lid, and I could not find a replacement. I went to Lowes the other day to buy an entire new toilet. Chatted with the sales guy about my broken lid. He told me where the tank model number was located (impression just below water line) and I could find the required lid online. The numbers on the lid itself mean nada. Yup, ebay dealer had it. Bought it, installed, all is well. $70, including shipping is not near as painful as $300. The Lowes guy could have said nothing and sold me a new toilet. Not.
  20. Uh, we all elect these idiots who wish to steal from us in spite of the consitution. It is up to all of us to remove them from office. It is the ONLY thing that they understand. This is not about safety at all, it is all about illegal revenue generation.
  21. Albuqerque here. We have suffered through these things for about seven years. Red Light and speeding at about 25 interesctions. The state wanted their cut of the revenue generation, and got it. The state made the city put in rumble strips at all of the interesctions to warn drivers that a highway man was about to rob them. Just a few years back, the state said the city could not use these on state highways in the city, and they were removed. Last week, the public got to vote on continuing the program (read: making Redflex rich). Well duh, the vote was to bag the entire thing. Trouble is, the vote was only a recoomendation to the city council who must make the decision to uphold the vote or not. I suspect that they all will, or they are out of a job. IMHO, all these things ever were were cash cows for the local government, and for Redflex.
  22. Here's a word about Dave: At the 2010 High Desert Classic at Albuqurque, he took Production. No surprise there, but what was a surprise was to see him helping the few local folks tearing down and putting away the stages. He was the ONLY non-local shooter to volunteer the help, without even being asked! Truly a diamond in the sport. Wish him the best.
