  1. Are you saying 25 from North of the border? Way kewl, Canucks in the the Great Southwest!
  2. You ready for the northern invasion? Looks like there's about 25 of us. Can't wait to hear the cactus story from Bonnie.
  3. Hey, Just wanting to let everyone know we havn't dropped off the plan! Setup for 9 great stages starts tomorrow, O:dark:30. Match will be great! Damon has piled up about 15k in random draw prize table! Albuquerque in June, can't beat it. cya there. PS: Bonnie, do not shoot the cactus again!
  4. It is on our website. Check the "shooter's forum", there's the note about May match Schedule change. We really do try to keep folks informed about any changes, and it will be through the sites forum. Thx!
  5. Stats Girl Carolyn tells me we're filled Up! Scott, Athena, Mike H., your good to go if the app shows up. Anyone else, there is a waiting list if we have any withdrawals. cya June in the Great Southwest!
  6. Hey, it looks like we're down to about 8 slots or so left. If you sent in your app and have not yet received confirmation, you are probably good to go. Check the USPSA self-squadding to see if you are listed. If you have just procrastinated way too much and want to get in the match, just PM me and we'll do what we can. There is wiggle room, but not much. First come, first served, as they say. BTW who is "they"? cya in June in the Great Southwest.
  7. Just over a month out to the match. About 12 slots left. Best hurry!! Cya there!
  8. Cool! I'm dropping my app in the mail Monday. I filled it out as unclassified but I'll drop you guys a line after I get my classifiers knocked out. The classifier thing will be taken care of; we'll have the latest from USPSA at match date anyway. Dave Thomas (who is shooting the match) sent me an email about our note related to Single Stack shooters and being classified at your highest "other" division. We all know that went away January 1. If you are Single Stack (pray for you), then you shoot at your "earned" classification, or as unclassified. BTW, I can't say this enough. The match will fill up. We do 135 shooters, that's 9 squads of 15. 9 stages means we do this game with manageable squads (for shooters and staff), and we get it done on time. Now is the time to sign up. We don't want to have to say "no".
  9. The 9 stages for the match (271 rounds) are up at www.rgpsc.com. Click the High Desert Classic logo top right. About 45 +- slots left, 2 months to go. cya there!
  10. I read all the crap that came with the ticket today. Turns out radar is not even involved. No wonder I had no warning from my detector! They put sensors in the road bed. 1984 was a long time ago, but we still are dealling with it.
  11. Colorado State is always a good match. It's on my "short" list every year. Can't wait!!! Great stages, great staff (even the Lizard), great fun. This is one ya gotta try!! cya there.
  12. Quite a response so far. Albuquerque does this photo crap as well, but only at major intersections, and there is signage to warn you, and rumble strips as well. They not only have speed cameras, but red light as well. The state requires that Albuquerque gives warnings. Anyway, it may be cool to post cities that do this with hidden traps, and we all just boycott those towns!!! Start with Star Valley, Arizona
  13. Highway 260 in Star Valley, AZ. Headed for Yuma Charity Match. Four lane highway posted at 45 mph. Nailed me, I don't even know when or where, at 57. $187.00 ticket!!! Star Valley will never get any more purchases from me! No food, no fuel, no nothing. Shooters, beware, the highway robber still lives.
  14. I had a great time, and I think everyone on our squad did, including Jerry! For a startup on a new club, it went just great. Interesting stages, good weather, met some new shooters, didn't embarass myself too badly. We'll be back from time to time! Thx!!!!
  15. Format is 6 stages Saturday, 3 Sunday morning, then prizes and awards. The best stats girl in the county, bar none, Carolyn Hudson, will have the scores final before you take off your holster. We post scores throughout the match so that shooters can validate their scores, and we always call for a waiver of the 1 hour wait. Should have you off the range by 2pm. Vendor lunch will be available on Sunday, included in the match fee for Saturday. We can accomodate a limited number of shoot throughs on a first come, first served basis, but please only for a really good reason. PM me if needed. Thx.
  16. whatmeworry certainly dates you, Pat! Mad magazine was an earlier generation. Current generation may not have a clue! Perhaps you should change your ID to Hannah Montana, maybe then you'll reach the masses.
  17. Ya got that right, Damon!! Time to head south. Easy 3 hours from Albuquerque.
  18. Time to get this back to the top!! This is truly a worthwhile effort, thanks Brian! If every USPSA member gave just $10 for a ticket, the benefits could be outstanding to the Nagel family.
  19. Very educated authority has the range at: N35 08.251 W106 50.691, elevation 5927'
  20. The Rio Grande Practical Shooting Club is proud to announce our 4th Annual Match at the Albuquerque City Shooting Range Park. For the first three years, we were known as "Badlands" and the New Mexico Section Championship. Last year's match grew to almost 150 shooters, and the club has decided to continue the tradition, and start a new tradition of the High Desert Classic at Albuquerque. The New Mexico Section Championship moves from club to club in the section each year. We simply had the honor of doing it three years in a row. This year, the Sectional goes south to Las Cruces later in the year. Look for that announcement down the road. For now, come back and enjoy our trademark stages and match organization. The best stat's girl in the country, dedicated (and friendly RO's), a new random draw prize table, and Albuquerque! Visit rgpsc.com or uspsa2.org for applications. cya in June!
  21. While it has not yet been announced formally, you can count on the NM Sectional being June 7-8, 2008. While it may not be the "sectional", it will be just as good as the last three years! Maybe even better.
  22. Well, thanks Cheryl! I did have a good time, albeit a liitle short, You know you got me in this game, it's all your fault!!
  23. Sat down, gun was in the mud. Guessing the bulge of keys in my pocket (normally on the front seat of the truck) simply pushed the gun out of the holster. Had thought to lock the gun, but didn't think that was needed. Wrong.
  24. Match fee: 225 Gas to match: 225 Hotel: 150 (saved 200!!) Wear on the truck: who knows. DQ on second stage: Priceless! Secure those guns on a chair start, girls and guys, I'm headed home. Expensive 1 stage (and lesson learned) wang chung.
