I started with a Burris Fullfield Tac 30 1-4. Reticle was not daylight bright. With the PCC I dont recall ever using any magnification in matches. Had an issue with one match shooting steel targets - Match director has some Steel IPSC targets with 4" Head target over the shoulder that he painted black. The black reticle did not stand out against the black target. Sold my Tac30 and got a Aimpoint PRO. So far I really like it. Lighter, clear glass, effective for intended use USPSA PCC Steel Matches

UPDATE I got an Odin Adjustable Gas block. Took it out to the range and adjusted it. Made a major difference in how soft the rifle shoots. I can understand the concept of different length systems, but I would also assume limiting the gas IE: lowering the gas pressure should effectively do the same thing. I am really happy with my setup.

UPDATE I took the counsel of several shooters above and went back to the original factory spring, factory 5.4 oz 9mm buffer, I also removed the pinned weight inside the BCG. It shoots much better. TO CLARIFY. I AM A COMPETITIVE SHOOTER, I only shoot low power factor loads, 147 fmj under 900 fps. I did try a buddies 124's loaded to 135+ power factor. The lighter bullet seemed to slam the BCG back harder than the 147 slower load.

Word of warning, I am running a CMMG MK 9 setup, and had a firing pin break. Roughly 700-1000 rounds on this purchased brand new gun. Mine happened about 1 week a buddies on a Palmetto State Armory. Cant go to the local Riflegear store and pick up another. These seem to be manufacturer specific. Order 1-2 extras to keep as spare. Hopefully the next one will hold up longer. IF anyone knows of a different source for replacement parts, I would appreciate the info.

Good afternoon fellow PCC lovers, because it only takes one time of playing with a 9mm AR to know you want to do it more. A friend warned me that the 9 has a lot of recoil/muzzle bounce due to the blowback design. I have had one recommendation to upgrade to a 308 Buffer Spring. Did that and got some reduction. I got another recommendation and was suggested to add a 9 oz buffer plus a wolf XS spring. I went to heavybuffers.com and tried to purchase that, But the Merchant website has been disabled. Got on Enos and saw several other suggestions of varying opinions. I see info about the JP Silent Spring for 9mm, with some positive and negative comments. What is the best (in your opinion) configuration for a 9mm PCC Currently I am running a CMMG MK9 with the factory 9mm buffer that weights 5.4oz. Carbine length setup

I have an Anderson Rifle M4 that I am using for 3 gun. Only upgrades from the base model is Hiperfire 24C trigger, BAD Charghing handle latch, Michulek Muzzle Break, and Midwest Industries Handguard. This gun will shoot SUB MOA groups at 100 & 200 yards. I think I would like to upgrade to a low mass BCG, and assume I need an adjustable gas block. My rig appears to be a carbine length gas system. A couple of options. 1 Upgrade Gas System in current upper. 2 build a mid/rifle length upper for 3 gun From what I have seen it appears the Rifle Length will provide the softest shooting. My goal is to minimize recoil for double taps on close and dirty stages. I shoot 77 gr for long range, and 55 gr for 100 yard and closer Thanks for your comments/suggestions

My first jump into the AR world was an Anderson Rifles m-4. I have 2 buddies that I encouraged to buy them. All 3 guns will shoot sub MOA groups. I have shot and connected with steel to 900 yards. I have changed the trigger in mine, and added a 15"Midwest industries Handguard. It works great in 3 gun matches. Most matches in North Texas have 400-600 long range targets, and this performs just fine. Good luck, once you start 3 gun, everything else will pale in comparison.

I am running PMags in 20-30 & 40 round. I have a pair of 30's linked together, and 30 and 40 with TTI base pads add +4-5 rounds. Keep a 20 for occasional prone use. This allows me to rest the gun down low and not have the mag as the bipod.

I went with the Aimpoint Pro. "Buy once cry once........ formerly known as baby steps." Aimpoint offers a model that is $60 cheaper that doesnt have night vision settings. All recommendations I could find suggested spending the extra $60 and go with the PRO - aka Patriot Rifle Optic. Good luck

Hey Neil. I had 3 mags. The one that came with the gun was a challenge to set. I bought 2 additional and they go home pretty easy. I ended up taking a small file and raising the locking point on the difficult mag. Works great now. Hope to see you soon.

Trigger. IMHO a good optic with a poor milspec trigger is pretty much worthless.

I would say go for it. Sounds like you are just starting local level matches. Most groups are willing to work with new shooters to get them into the game. Again, this would be for Local Matches and beginning shooters.

I really appreciated the change in feel when I stippled my grip. I bought a $40 soldering iron at home Depot. Practiced on a Pmag. Then did my first XDm. On this one I reduced the grip and smoothed out all the existing ridges. Sold that one and just purchased a new one. Just stippled the grip areas withou any prep work. Really feels like a better grip without the sharp biting edges.

I jumped back into the game and started with XDm. It has the closest to 1911 feel to me. I just upgraded to a 2011 model for my competition rig, sold my XDm 5.25 and purchased a 4.5 for the house/truck. Looking at XDs for a carry rig. I think they are great guns.

IDK, just know I had 30 penalty points don't I might have dropped one other shot, so I assume 5+5 for each failed engagement. It could have been scored wrong, that is not too uncommon either

I have been out of competition pistol shooting for 21 years. Upon a recent return, I agreed to do some score keeping. We finished up one stage and were moving to the second stage. I realized that I forgot to do the totals on the score cards, and failed to study the next stage. I thought I had it all figured out and my name was drawn as the first shooter. I felt really rushed and should have asked to be bumped back in the shooting order. In my quick walk thru I failed to notice one target, that from one shooting position showed white (i.e. NO SHOOT) and from another you get the other side being a shoot target. So you can guess that I never engaged what I thought was a no shoot. 2 Mikes 2 Procedurals Ouch. Take your time. Unless you are truly amazing, you will not get rich doing this, it is just a hobby. Be safe.

Draw and unloaded sight picture on each stage. Not really sure I would consider that a warm up though.

Is a stainless rod with brass rod guide a problem? I'm new to the 6.5 also, wanted to sight it in today, but too much rain in Texas
