I have the Marvel, Jarvis and Tactical Solutions 22conversion units. The TS unit is not as accurate as the Marvel and functions reliably with a wider selection of ammo than the Jarvis unit. I have found that the Kimber plastic magazines function well with all three units. The Ciener 15 round mags function well with my Marvel unit and SV ammo.
Competition and ease of fabrication! Even Ranch Products moonclips for their other offerings are 2+times more expensive than their 45 ACP moonclips. The Ranch Products moonclips for the 6 shot L-frame 38 Special will only fit some 586 and 686 no dash models. I use the Ranch Products in my 586-0 - a bargain at $75 per 100.
Reloaded 9mm ammo will have that "Coke" shape- the original case is taped and the usual carbide sizing die reduces it to a straight walled case. Inserting the bullet slightly expands the mouth resulting in the unique shape.
I use Dillon, RCBS, Lyman, Hornady and Lee dies in my Dillon 550. For lead I prefer the Dillon seating die since the seating stem is easilly removed/replaced for cleaning.
If you shot static steerl plates then whatever cycles the gun will work. Most plate racks and poppers are set up to falll with certainty at 135 PF = 135gr bullet at 1000fps. You may also have to consider any club or league rules.
Power Pistol is an excellent powder for full power loads especially with the heavier 147 gr. bullet in 9mm. It meters very well. The only minus is that sice it's a relatively slow burning powder and you do see more muzzle flash at sunset or at night.
My lame duck excuse was the abundant supply of brass. The minus side is that 1911's in 40 S&W are a bit finicky with respect to feeding. In contrast my 1911's in 9mm and 45 ACP have been flawless feeders right out of the box.
I have two older Para a 14-45 and 16-40 Signature/Limited which I use with the Hogue rubbergrips. These same rubber grips will not fir my newer 18-9LDA Limited. Visualy I cannot tell the difference n the factory grip to frame fit although I have spent time examining the difference.
In 9mm I use WSF with either 124 or 147 gr. jacketed bullets. In 45ACP I prefer a faster powder and use either WST or American Select. You might also try the old universal pistol powder, Bullseye.
Most of the revolver games are geared for 6 shot revolvers although you can shoot them with the 5 shot j-frame. Rio Salado Sportsmans Club in Mesa has and ICORE shoot on the first Sunday of the month at 9AM and the Phoenix Rod & Gun Club near south mountain has a ICORE shoot on the second Saturday at 8AM. I shoot at both of the clubs - a nice group of shooters.
Enjoyed the reliability of Glock's. Then I purchased a S&W99 which was similar to the Walther P99 and was impressed with their ergonomics and trigger. I switched to the S&W M&P for the improved ergonomics and trigger when compared to the Glock line.
