Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I want to get a CZ for IDPA .It looks like the weight rule cancels out the shadow 2’s. 1) Is there any current catalogued gun that would be legal, ? 2) Is there any gun that I could make single action only (SAO) and still use for any division. If your a CZ shooter let me know.
  2. I loaded some Hi-Tek coated 147gr bullets for my G34 and chrono'd them. The accuracy was only so-so but they still had that led smokiness (not as bad) (plus the odor is strong) and it had me wondering if they are still leading up the barrel. From what i have been able to search online they appear to be OK, but does any body have any experience to share?
  3. So they were two different sizes then, had you used the regular RN or FP in the past?
  4. I have used berrys hollow point and round nose 124gr bullets W/ good results. Whats been your experience with the flat point hollow base bullets 124gr ? Can i keep the same die settings and just keep loading or do i need to change things. (i dont want to change settings) Do they seem more accurate? what other benefits am i missing or not? thanks
  5. I wanted to ask what you guys like for OAL for Berry 147's in a G34/M&P9 using VV320 Right now my 124 Round nose Berry OAL is about 1.140 What i really want to do is use the die setting for the 124 gr. load and just use the 147's and only adjust the powder setting. Anybody tried this? edit: to also include the VV reloading book says 1.142 so i should be good but wanted to know what other users report.
  6. I have been reading that Glock is shipping gen 4 guns with the factory beavertail extension included with the other interchangeable grips. So does anybody know if a grip force adapter is legal for SSP?
  7. im a beginner, hopefully some day i will get there
  8. well i guess i thought it was steel, because the one end has the metal that hooks up beneath the chamber end of the barrel and didn't look closely at the "rod" part, so i guess to stay legal in ssp i should get the polymer one. which has the advantage? polymer or steel? i might just go up to esp if steel runs better.
  9. since the stock RSA in the gen 4 35 is steel. can i replace it with the steel jager rod or do i have to stay with the polymer rod? the website says the polymer is legal for idpa but the gen 4 35 has a steel rod ( at least thats what i thought it has ) ? what do you think?
  10. it looks like a lower pound recoil spring is on the shopping list, thanks you guys
  11. Are you guys generally happy with how the gun shoots with the lower lb springs? What weight is a stock Gen 4 spring?
  12. yes i am trying to make a soft shooting load for the .40 so i can sort of fine tune the whole shooting system.
  13. i was thinking maybe the recoil spring was to strong since it is the Gen 4, and considered getting a lower weight spring also, i am just not sure which direction to go. i like the gun and the Gen 4 grip and bigger mag release so i am committed to making it work.
  14. i just edited the above to answer your question, I am an IDPA shooter and don't know the PF formula at this moment, sorry
  15. I am using an RCBS 5-0-5 scale, (will be getting a digital in the future) Berry's 180 gr hollow point, set at 1.133~ This depth worked fine with Tite Group but i don't know what the FPS was with Tight Group because i didn't have a Chrono when i first started into reloading. I am using a Dillon 650 with Dillon dies. I thought maybe i should either seat them a little lower to build up a little pressure or just use more powder but I'm not sure which direction to go. to answer you question about the slide functioning - some times the slide will not eject the fired case or not feed the next bullet into the chamber or the spent brass barely clears the ejection port , sort of slow motion like, (the slide feels a little sluggish if that makes sense)
